Afc helper script (tools) - to activate, go into Preferences (in Gadgets section ) and check off "Yet Another AfC Helper Script", then save (then clean cache)
Peer review - it is recommended that articles go through a peer review before being nominated for FA candidacy (it is best that peer reviews be done on only for articles that are already GA or A)
A-Class review process and criteria - A-class reviews are done according to process that involves either two reviewers or a team of reviewers from a Wikiproject (see instructions).
Paste{{subst:GAN|subtopic=}} to the top of the article talk page. Do not place it inside another template such as WikiProjectBannerShell.
Add a parameter for the topic: |topic= and indicate the name of the article you want considered for GA.
For the |subtopic= parameter, add one of the following 30 subtopic sections headers that best defines the article:
Agriculture, food and drink·Art and architecture·Computing and engineering·Transport·Geography·Places·World history·Royalty, nobility and heraldry·Language and literature·Mathematics and mathematicians·Film·Television·Media and drama·Albums·Songs·Music·Biology and medicine·Chemistry and materials science·Earth sciences·Physics and astronomy·Philosophy and religion·Culture, sociology and psychology·Education·Economics and business·Law·Magazines and print journalism·Politics and government·Sports and recreation·Video games·Warfare
If it doesn't fit under any of the above categories, then leave the field blank. The nomination will be sorted in the Miscellaneous section.
At the end, add a parameter: |four tildes= (but no = sign) and proceed to sign your user name inserting your four tildes.
Save the page. A bot will add the nomination to the GA nominations page under the chosen subtopic heading to indicate that the article is ready to be reviewed.
DYK (for new articles or articles that have recently been expanded or rated GA)
Go to templates of some of the nominations to see how they are set up in edit space.
Set up your nomination in sandobox before submitteing—use the formula observed in other nominations' templates.
3) Nominate an article - copy and paste your setup into the nomination, then submit—it will create a template for your nomination
4) DYK awaiting approval (review) - progress of reviews/articles awaiting approval or rejection—respond to and address the reviewer's suggestions in thread underneath the nomination
5) DYK/Approved - check to see if article is approve (approved articles show here)
6) DYK prep-queue - check to see when approved article is scheduled to appear on DYK (newly approved articles will initially be prepared and wait in the Prep area before they go into the Prep queue—they will go into the Pre queue shortly before they appear on DYK)
- Start-Class designations are usually placed by page reviewers (including Afc reviewing and New page patrol) or editors involved in relevant WikiProjects
Album/single/EP covers, single covers (and similar items) are automatically usable in Wikipedia if they are placed in the main infobox of their corresponding article (but do not place them elsewhere); the images are very easy to find on the Internet (i.e. the 'images' page in Google).
Album/single/EP covers: Don't worry about finding a copyright tag or whatever when you save the image from that search – as long as the image is of the front cover, you are 100% covered for 'fair use' no matter how you find the image.
There is some language that you need to attach with the uploaded file to show the 'use rationale' for the image, and that you are making it under 'fair use'. Here is an example of an uploaded which has the attachments in it: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/File:StonePoneys-CD-2.jpg .
Open the file as though you were going to edit it, that will show the details on what you need there. You can then copy that over to the file that is created after you upload an image. You can use previous upload to get that; the layout, etc. has to be exact, or it doesn't work right.
The uploading goes to 'Wikimedia' actually, not to Wikipedia directly, so don't let that throw you off.
For citations taken from LP/CD/DVD liner notes: Inside the brackets between the ref. tags, set up the bracket info. as "cite AV Media" and indicate what type of piece (type=liner notes). Include serial number (id=...)
To create a Harvard-style endnote [3] - I must be followed by a detailed reference to the book in separate Bibliography (or Works Cited) section afterward.

When using Google Books, to find a page number: click on the "link" icon, scroll across the URL generated in the "Paste in email or IM", look for a section starting &pg=PT123# .... the "123" there is the page number.
