Wikipedia:Style noticeboard

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Welcome to the style noticeboard!
Use this page to ask questions about the application of style-related guidelines and policies to specific articles, pages, or text.
Before posting a question, please be sure to provide the following information:
• Relevant guidelines or policies. The style-related policies or guidelines that are being applied, or are in question.
• Article or page. The Wikipedia article(s) or page(s) where the issue has arisen. For example: [[Article name]].
• Content. The exact content in article or page that is in question. Please supply a diff, or put the content inside block quotes. For example:
text
.
While editors will offer their opinions, and the consensus of several editors can generally be relied upon, answers should not be considered to be definitive or infallible.
Please focus one's attention on styling. This is not the place to discuss other issues, such as editor conduct.
Please see the Wikipedia dispute resolution process for issues other than the interpretation of style guidance.
If one wishes to discuss changes to Wikipedia style guidance, such as to the Manual of Style, please see the relevant talk page.
Additional notes:
• Matters of style that can be discussed at this noticeboard include language composition, visual composition, orthography (including spelling, capitalisation, hyphenation, and other punctuation), and typography.
• The guideline that most directly relates to styling on Wikipedia is the Manual of Style, though other policies and guidelines may also be relevant.
• This page should not be used for generally discussing style-related issues on Wikipedia. It should only be used for requesting third opinions on the interpretation or application of style guidance in specific instances, such as to a specific piece of article text.
• When opening a new style noticeboard thread, one must provide a link to that thread at the relevant article talk page(s).
