Tagishsimon (talk) 13:45, 14 January 2021 (UTC)Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello NDNSWMI! Your additions to Rothbury have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 20:09, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

Community WikiProject
[edit]Hi, I noticed your creation of Wikipedia:Community (NBC) and so on—WikiProjects are not usually created for such small topic scopes (only a couple of hundred topics could possibly be notable and directly linked to Community), but task forces within WikiProject Television are often made for such things. If you have any questions, including technical/wikicode questions, you can ask me on my talk page. I saw at Talk:Community (TV series) you added the code for a banner directly rather than the preferred method: putting it on a template page and then transcluding it on the talk page. — Bilorv (talk) 02:10, 19 February 2021 (UTC)

Creating a WikiProject
[edit]Please stop adding a banner for WikiProject Community. You cannot simply create a WikiProject at your whim. Please read Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide to see how to propose a new WikiProject. Also, as noted above by Bilorv, a WikiProject for this is probably the wrong move; a task force under WikiProject Television is more suitable. RunningTiger123 (talk) 15:09, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
You seem to have added a number of articles that don't indicate why they belong in this category such as Duke of Cornwall or are a different place (though they may have been named after it that doesn't make it WP:Defining) such as Rothbury, New South Wales. March 2021
[edit]Hello, I'm Arjayay. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the main body of Rothbury. Generally, any relevant external links should be listed in an "External links" section at the end of the article and meet the external links guidelines. Links within the body of an article should be internal Wikilinks. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 15:25, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Rothbury. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 15:25, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Edit summaries
[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Laurence Fox does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Links to draft articles
[edit]Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Lincoln–Kennedy coincidences urban legend. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 11:10, 10 April 2021 (UTC)

Rothbury crime
[edit]Hello, I'm Antagxnism on here!
I was hoping to post this somewhere privately but I don't think that's possible (or maybe I'm just not looking in the right place). I wanted to let you know that I've removed a paragraph you have added to the Crime section on the Rothbury page on two occasions now.
Please know that I understand your intentions to post this information might not have been intentionally malicious, I can tell from your many contributions to the Rothbury page that you make a great effort to keep the page up to date which I and many others appreciate! However, as someone who knows the individual involved, the situation and that the presence of this information on such a popular wikipedia page would do more harm to their recovery and rehabilitation than any good it would have being on here, I would appreciate it if you do not restore this information. This is less of a request as a fellow wikipedia user, but as a fellow human being.
Thank you very much for all you do for the site! Antagxnism (talk) 23:18, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

Edit summaries again
[edit]I noticed your edit to Ewan McGregor and also see that another editor had previously mentioned edit summaries to you. Explaining your edits in the edit summary is a way of being considerate of your fellow editors. The change to Ewan McGregor came up on my watchlist. In the pop-up, I could see that text was removed, but because there was no edit summary, I had to open the diff to try to figure out why it had been removed and whether the edit should be reverted. If you'd simply said "removed redundant statement" or "paragraph already mentions years sober", it would have saved me trying to figure out why you were doing what you did. Please try to use edit summaries so other editors don't have to try to figure out the purpose of the edit or come ask you about your edit (or simply revert you because you removed sourced content without an explanation). Thanks, and happy editing! Schazjmd (talk) 21:00, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
- I saw your edit summary here, that's much more helpful—thank you! Schazjmd (talk) 21:09, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
Your contributed article, List of proposed Amendments to the US Constitution
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, List of proposed Amendments to the US Constitution. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – amendments to the United States Constitution. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at amendments to the United States Constitution. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Schazjmd (talk) 21:47, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Also, for future articles: you can copy text between Wikipedia articles, but the copied text must be attributed properly. WP:CWW explains how and why to provide attribution for text copied between articles. Schazjmd (talk) 21:54, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

[edit]List of people with amputation moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, List of people with amputation, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:22, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- I'll explain why I've moved this to drafts:
- The article has all of one source, cited once, which simply isn't enough.
- There are factual errors: 'smaller fin' (Nemo) isn't an amputation; neither is, arguably, someone getting their limb chopped off in battle (Black Knight, etc.). Neither are all those listed people. Please ensure that you have clearly defined the scope of the list, and then adhered to your definition closely.
- Last but not least, if you haven't yet familiarised yourself with WP:SALAT (and WP:SAL more generally), you really need to do so before attempting to publish this again, as it has a good chance of ending up in AfD, and you want to be conversant with the relevant policies.

You are welcome to import appropriate Creative Commons licensed content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. Hallo, this edit generated a red error message telling me that bold or italic can't be used in the "publisher" field. In the {{tl|cite news]] template, The Times belongs in the "work" field, rather than "publisher", and italic font is then applied automatically - I've fixed this one, just thought I'd point it out for your future use. There's a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia but it's an interesting journey: Happy Editing. PamD 18:30, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

Your contributed article, 2022 Copenhagen Shooting
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, 2022 Copenhagen Shooting. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Field's mall shooting. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Field's mall shooting.
A bit iffy (talk) 19:41, 3 July 2022 (UTC)

The article 2022 Recession has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Original research. Sources provided do not characterize current economic situation as a "recession".
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 20:46, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

Archie Battersbee case moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Archie Battersbee case, is not suitable as written to remain published.
Speedy deletion nomination of Lee Ji-han (singer)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Lee Ji-han (singer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lee Ji-han (actor). When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". ✗plicit 12:34, 24 November 2022 (UTC)

[edit]{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Graham87 16:17, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
The ratio between the number of sections on your talk page (as of my block, many of which are warnings of some sort) and the number of edits you've made to Wikipedia is completely unacceptable and indicates that you lack the competence to contribute properly to this encyclopedia. The ratio would be even worse if you weren't in the habit of removing severe enough warrnings from your talk page. You came to my attention with this series of edits where you removed a hatnote in violation of the relevant guideline, despite a previous warning about similar behaviour that you removed. Wikipedia does not have the time or resources to deal with people like you; you are not welcome here. Graham87 16:17, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

NDNSWMI (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Hello, on the 1 December 2022 I was blocked from editing Wikipedia. I was not aware what I was doing was in violation of any Wikipedia rule, and if I was told what I doing was in violation of Wikipedia then I would have understood and agreed to the request, instead I was banned without any discussion about this. On the 10 December 2022 I created a new account, CaptainWackyHJS, I was unaware that the previous ban to my account NDNWSMI was not just a ban on that account, but a ban on creating new accounts. On the 26 January 2023. Bbb23 banned my new account for being a sockpuppet. My intension for my new account was not to create a sockpuppet account, but to continue editing and improving Wikipedia. Having been more than a year and half since my last account was banned I have been itching to get back to editing Wikipedia and help improve it’s articles and creating new articles for notable subjects. I never set out to damage Wikipedia, and looking at my list of contributions of both accounts you can see that I have never committed any vandalism, and have just been contributing to the various subjects I am interested in. In my time away from editing I have found various Articles, Wikiprojects, task forces, and challenges that I would like to help out on. * Addressing the need to create and maintain accurate article on the new MPs and the UK’s new government, I have seen a number of articles that at best need to be updated, or at worse displaying incorrect information. I would like to help keep these articles accurate at this is important for proving people the details of the UK’s current situation. I previously helped maintain articles on UK politics, including extensive work on Ann-Marie Trevelyan’s biography, and removing vandalism on Jerermy Hunt’s page, and was even thanked by Redav and ContributeToTheWiki for removing said vandalism. * The “Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge” for article improvements for the UK and Ireland. I was interested in creating articles for various historical listed buidilings/stutuctures in the UK, I had created the Bondgate Tower article and was wanting to create more articles for notable historical places. I was also interested in helping improve the articles about various UK villages and hamlets, which I have done before, including Denwick, Longhorsley, Edlingham, Felton, Elsdon, Snitter, and Ingram, even being thanked for my edits on the article for Ingram, by user DisillusionedBitterAndKnackered. I have also noticed that the article for the village of Thropton has a error, saying “<!—-Rulers —->”, either one of the invisible comments is visible, or the page is being vandalized again (the article previously had the statement “As of 2021 Sam the Great is King of Thropton.” which I removed). * The “Wikipedia:WikiProject UK Railways”, I created the “Broomhill (Northumberland) railway station” article and was about to go about improving it by finding and adding more references before being banned. * The “WikiProject Ships” and “Military history WikiProject”, as I have a interest in navy ships, having created the List of people with Royal Navy ships named after them which I am wanting to improve by continuing to add to the article. I was inspired by the good topic series of articles on the Austrian-Hungarian submarines. * The “Wikipedia:WikiProject Autism”, I am interested in various neurological disorders such as Autism, ADHD, Down’s Syndrome, etc…, and so would like to help constuibute to these subjects to help create a better understanding of them. In addition I am interesting in creating and improving the articles of people with such disorders, such as the article I created for the British TV actor Leon Harrop. * British football, in particular non league football: “Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/English non-league task force”, and “Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/The 1000 Destubbing Challenge”, I have been looking at various FA articles on English football, such as the FA series about York City FC, and Gillingham F.C., and would like to use the structure of both series to help improve various stub articles about British clubs, with having looked at the Sutton Coldfield Town F.C. article, Teignmouth FC, and Norsemen FC, and would like to help to destub them, including researching various resources that can be used to destub them. I would also like to point that on my account NDNSWMI I have been thanked a number of times for my edits, including: * Thanked by DisillusionedBitterAndKnackered for improving the article about the Northumberland village of Ingram, including adding a section about the village church: St Micheal and All Angels. * Thanked by Redav and ContributeToTheWiki for removing vandalism statng that UK politiican Jeramy Hunt was born on the 1 January 2010, I changed this back to his artual birth date of 1 November 1966. * Thanked by Julius177 by for addding on the talk page of the writer, political reform activist, and agriculturalist Robert Fleming Gourlay (1778 – 1863) that he might be of interest to the WikiProject Canada and WikiProject Scotland due to Gourlay’s nationality of having been a Scotttish-Candian. * Thanked by Rotondus for creating the article about the Ukrainian buninessmen Oleksiy Vadaturskyi who was killed in a missile strike on the city of Mykolaiv during the Russian invastion.

No CU evidence of recent block evasion. --Yamla (talk) 15:05, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
Update: I confirm that what Yamla said is still valid. Here is the thing, NDNSWMI. Graham87 blocked you for a very specific reason (well more than one I suppose): you have been wasting editors' time with those many poor submissions. I looked at a few and maybe Draft:War of Nazi Aggression takes the cake. Graham also mentioned incompetence: I can't disagree with him. You've given a long list of things you have done and things you want to do, but nowhere did I see (unless I missed it: your request is way too wordy) that you will promise to write Good Stuff, which conforms to our guidelines from the beginning. In addition, in your edit history I see a lack of edit summaries, and on this talk page I see really no engagement whatsoever with the many comments left here by the many editors who sought to engage you. We cannot have that on a collaborative project. I will not entertain an unblock request from you unless those matters are addressed: competence and communication. OK? Note to the next administrator: this is not technically a CU block, and as far as I'm concerned any admin is free to address a next unblock request. Drmies (talk) 16:40, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
