Map Template Issues

Hi Jowaninpensans - hope you are enjoying the summer so far. I have noticed that the location map templates are encountering problems if you use top or bottom with large gaps appearing - see map on South West Premier (Drybrook). Do you know who I can talk to to try and resolve this issue? Cheers. Jgjsmith006 (talk) 08:10, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Try the village pump, they do technical stuff.
Thanks Jowaninpensans - have left a message there. Jgjsmith006 (talk) 09:41, 10 July 2018 (UTC)

I now have league tables for season 1898–99 and need to decide where to put them – don't think the cup final page is the right place. The first cup competition was not official, it was compiled by a Cornishman correspondent. I think the CRFU were happy for the second year to go ahead. Thinking of doing a new article, called Rugby union in Cornwall (19th century), where I can put these league tables. Could also include Cornwall matches and years when rugby teams started, etc.Jowaninpensans (talk) 09:05, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

That looks interesting. Perhaps you can create links to the league in the existing rugby union in Cornwall page. Jgjsmith006 (talk) 09:42, 10 July 2018 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion of Template:2017–18 National League 1 Table

Hi Jowan hope you enjoyed the summer. Received the below message saying that the table templates are being nominated for deletion. I have copied the data into the page so it won't be lost but it could impact multiple rugby season pages. Cheers. Jgjsmith006 (talk) 17:03, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

Template:2017–18 National League 1 Table has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page.

If you click on the link you will see the table is corrupted and it is a different template to the one that was on the article page. And the Pirates are top of the table. Jowaninpensans (talk) 18:59, 2 September 2018 (UTC)l
I copy and pasted the table into the page direct as it didn't seem to be working properly. Have updated with Pirates at top (good win against Exeter in pre-season with 3,000+ in the ground). I think both Pirates and new boys, Coventry, will do well this season. While Irish will no doubt be promoted once more, the relegation battle could be quite interesting - London Scottish, Richmond, Hartpury, someone else ???? A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of shipwrecks before Anno Domini is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of shipwrecks before Anno Domini until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Hello. Thank you for creating articles for Wikipedia.

An article you recently created, Listed buildings in Newlyn, is orphaned, that means no other articles link to it. Although it can still be found by searching Wikipedia, it is preferable that it can be reachable by links from related pages. Therefore, it is helpful to add links form other suitable pages with similar or related information. You may use the find link tool to do so.

I've tagged the article in question with {{orphan}}. If you have added a category to it, you may remove the tag. If you have any questions, you may ask on my talk page, at the Teahouse or help desk. Happy editing! —AE (talkcontributions) 09:29, 11 September 2018 (UTC)

Launceston Rugby Club season summary

Hi Jowan - long time no talk - hope you are well. I have just done a season summary for Launceston from 1987 to the present day - see Launceston Rugby Club#Season summary. I have quite a lot of the more recent information (1996 onwards) but am struggling with anything before that. I know that you have a number of Rothman's books that might help, and ideally will be able to fill in some of the blanks including league, league position and points. Also if you have any details on the clubs Cornwall Cup progression (not winner or finalist - I have these) then that would be brilliant too - I am missing the earlier information plus 2000-2002 (nothing on Trelawny's Army). Cheers. Jgjsmith006 (talk) 22:43, 19 October 2018 (UTC)

Also done one for Redruth R.F.C.#Season summary. Again, anything you can help with would be much appreciated. Jgjsmith006 (talk) 13:46, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
And Camborne RFC#Season summary. Will probably do Pirates one as well as I'm on a roll. Jgjsmith006 (talk) 17:00, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
And finally Cornish Pirates#Season summary Jgjsmith006 (talk) 22:50, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Will do when I can – busy with other things at the moment. Jowaninpensans (talk) 17:20, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Cheers Jowan. There's no rush on this, just when you get the chance. I see that you did a couple of pages on the Cornwall/Devon league which featured Penzance/Newlyn (1987-89). It's amazing to think that they have gone all the way up from level 8 to level 2. Hopefully they can get promotion into the Premiership one day, particularly as the County Championship seems to be dying off. Jgjsmith006 (talk) 22:54, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of shipwrecks in 1883, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bridgewater (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi. The Wikipedia:The Great Britain/Ireland Destubathon is planned for March 2020, a contest/editathon to eliminate as many stubs as possible from all 134 counties. Amazon vouchers/book prizes are planned for most articles destubbed from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland and Northern Ireland and whoever destubs articles from the most counties out of the 134. Sign up on page if interested in participating, hope this will prove to be good fun and productive, we have over 44,000 stubs!♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:17, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

An apparently wrong date in an article you have edited

In an edit that you made rather more than a year ago to James Silk Buckingham, you stated that the subject's father died in 1893/94, although the subject was born in 1786. This seems chronologically impossible, and I suspect you made a typing error - however, I'm not in a position to access the source you seem to have used for this, so can't determine the correct date. Are you still in a position to do so? PWilkinson (talk) 12:56, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
