Caractacus Pott

[edit]

The article is at Caractacus Pott because that was the name in the original book. It was changed to Potts for the film. Also the image you uploaded is not a free one and can't be used. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 04:13, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:ST4 Joyce.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ST4 Joyce.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:30, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Middle-earth edits

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your interest in this WikiProject. However, this is an encyclopedia, not a fansite, there are plenty of those.

So, please avoid adding trivia, such as to infoboxes. We don't use fan art in the lead section. Please do not remove formatting, it's there fir readability. Please also do not remove warning notices from the text, that is disruptive, as is repeating an edit after an editor - not me in that case - reverted your edit and asked you to discuss it first. That was editwarring, which is forbidden. In short, most of your additions have been reverted as unhelpful or inappropriate. If you want to help then you will need to adapt your approach. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Hobbit. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Please could you stop this disruptive and dishonest editing. Adding an image, contrary to what has been explained to you in repeated edit comments, reversion by two different editors, and a note on your talk page, is directly disruptive and uncollegiate. I'd be really grateful if you could stop this kind of thing. You've also ignored the fact that the image is in Copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations extremely seriously. All of these are matters for which you can be blocked from editing. Best stop now. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:22, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I won't be blocked from editing. But Thanks. Fileman67 (talk) 17:58, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Celine Dion (album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Freddie Washington. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:04, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You need to cite sources that actually support your edits. You cited AllMusic for track-by-track credits but they don't supply that. Binksternet (talk) 01:33, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Basically, the problem is that you are making decisions yourself about who played what. Wikipedia has a hard policy against that. See WP:No original research. You must have published WP:Reliable sources that you are reading, and then you summarize them for Wikipedia. Binksternet (talk) 01:35, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm BlueNoise. I noticed that you recently removed content from Eye in the Sky (album) without adequately explaining why. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. The page File:Shanice-620x400.jpg has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appeared to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://raynbowaffair.com/international-recording-artist-shanice-to-be-honored-with-the-woman-of-soul-award-at-the-lgbt-music-festival/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. Reach for the Light moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Reach for the Light, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:49, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Balto OST.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:52, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Freedom! '90

[edit]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to Freedom! '90, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept uncited material. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. I looked for sources for credits, and so far, have only found them for Michael's work on the song, but I'll keep looking. If you know of sources yourself, feel free to add them.

Also, a minor point, but only the first word and proper nouns are capitalized in headings, per WP:SECTIONHEAD.

If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 14:53, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:56, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
