[edit]Hello, I'm Discospinster. I wanted to let you know that one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Eastern Medical College—has been undone because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thank you. ... discospinster talk 21:12, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
Manual of Style - Credentials
[edit]Wikipedia's Manual of Style instructs editors not to use academic and professional titles or degrees (such as "Doctor", "Professor", or "PhD") before or after names.
This may seem strange if you come from a culture where such titles are normally used. Fifty years ago in West Germany, for instance, one would never have referred to a male professor except by the almost militaristic "Herr Doktor Professor". The use of such titles is less common in Commonwealth countries (the Dictionary of National Biography, for example, avoids them), and is even more rare in the United States, where it would sound like sycophancy.
In any case, the English-language Wikipedia has adopted a standard of not using them. You can see the style in action at such articles as List of Nobel laureates by country and good articles about universities, such as King's College London and Texas State University. Don't include "Dr.", "Ph.D", "MBBS", etc. --Worldbruce (talk) 20:17, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
Declare any connection
[edit]Hello, Mr.HiDe00. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Eastern Medical College, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. --Worldbruce (talk) 21:13, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
Ruhini Kumar Das moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Ruhini Kumar Das. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 07:51, 20 September 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ruhini Kumar Das
[edit]Hello Mr.HiDe00,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ruhini Kumar Das for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Mr.HiDe00! Your additions to Ruhini Kumar Das have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — CactusWriter (talk) 23:49, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for September 24
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Eastern Medical College, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages AMC and PLAB. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:54, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
The article Ruhini Kumar Das has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
does not meet criteria in WP:ACADEMIC. The "Principal" post is not the highest in that college.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Daiyusha (talk) 11:13, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
