- Dear Randykitty, I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the warm welcome and the helpful guidance you've provided.
- I am indeed enjoying my journey as a new Wikipedian and am eager to contribute effectively to the community. Today, I took the first step by creating my very first article Draft:Marius Brülhart, and I am quite excited about it. Given your experience and kind offer to assist, I was wondering if you could provide me with some advice on how to facilitate a speedy review of my article. I am eager to see it published and would greatly appreciate any insights you can offer on how to expedite the process. Thank you once again for your support. I look forward to your response and to contributing more to Wikipedia.
- Warm regards,
- KMerrigold
- KMerrigold (talk) 18:19, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- When your draft has already been submitted for review, asking in other places for an expedited review is deprecated. Links to on-wiki content should be via wikilinks; external URLs and particularly shortened URLs are discouraged.
- I've removed the {{help}} template because a) you seem to have been addressing Randykitty in particular and b) because it should not be used to ask vaguely for advice (or for expedited review).
- While you wait for your draft to be reviewed, you should consider adding more inline citations. Reviewers expect to see a footnote for essentially every sentence. You need to identify where the information is coming from. A sentence with multiple footnotes, on the other hand, may be a problem. It's often a sign that you are engaged in synthesis, pulling together several sources to say something that none of them supports.
- The good news is that it looks like your subject may qualify under the special notability criteria that apply to professors. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 18:59, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
- Dear jmcgnh ,
- I hope this message finds you both well. Thanks again for your guidance and support. I have recently made updates to the "Career" section of the Draft:Marius Brülhart, addressing the concerns and questions you raised. I have made every effort to locate and utilize secondary and reliable sources to verify and substantiate the information from the professor's CV.
- Your feedback is invaluable to me, and I would greatly appreciate any further insights or suggestions you might have. Regarding the "Research" section, I took into consideration your comment that mentioned the potential applicability of special notability criteria for professors. Based on your comment, I have decided not to make any changes to the section. I hope this is acceptable to you. The reason is that the footnotes in one sentence effectively consolidate the various topics within his broad research themes, and each source represents a specific topic accordingly.
- Thank you for your time and assistance.
- Best regards,
- KMerrigold KMerrigold (talk) 15:11, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

- Dear Ozzie10aaaa,
- Thank you very much for your welcome and for being my mentor. I'm grateful for the guidance you offer.
- Currently, I have two drafts that were declined, but I see this as an opportunity to improve them by incorporating secondary and independent sources for each fact mentioned. The only concern I have is the review process duration, which is said to take 3-4 months.
- Once I properly adjust my drafts, is there any possibility that the review process could be expedited so my drafts can be published and go live sooner?
- Thank you again for your assistance. I'm looking forward to learning and contributing more effectively to Wikipedia.
- Kind regards,
- KMerrigold KMerrigold (talk) 13:46, 3 July 2024 (UTC)

Hi KMerrigold, do you have a source for the impact factor? Thanks Nobody (talk) 12:16, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @1AmNobody24,
- Sure, here is the link: https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21100913561?origin=resultslist
- I just noticed they've updated the impact factor for 2023 (it was 5.1 for 2022). I'll update it right away. By the way, can we include a link to the Scopus site, or do we have to update the impact factor manually each year?
- Thanks in advance for your help.
- Best,
- KMerrigold KMerrigold (talk) 17:20, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- The impact factor from scopus is not an official one. The official one comes from the Web of Science. Nobody (talk) 09:23, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
- Dear @1AmNobody24,
- The impact factor most commonly referenced as the "official" one is indeed provided by the Web of Science, specifically through Journal Citation Reports (JCR). Scopus, on the other hand, provides a similar metric called the CiteScore. While both metrics assess journal impact, they are derived from different databases and methodologies. Therefore, the impact factor from Web of Science is widely recognized as the official impact factor, whereas Scopus offers its own valid but different metric. Currently, I do not see any SJES' rank in the Web of Science database, could you please also check it?
- Thanks.
- Best,
- KMerrigold KMerrigold (talk) 06:31, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- Indeed, it seems SJES has not recieved one yet. Nobody (talk) 06:34, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- Dear @1AmNobody24,
- I found some info on other chief editors that I'd like to add to the SJES Wikipedia page, but I see it's using a different template for the list of chief editors. Could you explain how to use that Columns-list template so I don't mess it up? Thanks!
- Best, KMerrigold KMerrigold (talk) 06:49, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- I noticed you use the VisualEditor for all your edits. The Columns-list template is one that is easier to work with using the Source editor. Nobody (talk) 06:55, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- Dear @1AmNobody24,
- Is it not a good practice to use the Visual Editor? I find it more understandable and less prone to errors for me. The Source Editor requires some foundational coding knowledge, which increases the risk of mistakes on my part.
- Now, I can't update the list of chief editors I created since it was converted into the Columns-list template. Could you please help me find a gentle solution for this?
- Thanks!
- Best,
- KMerrigold KMerrigold (talk) 06:59, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- It's true that the Visual Editor is intended as a replacement for the Source editor, but not all templates have been updated for use with the Visual editor. The best way in this case would be to temporary remove the Columns-list template in source editor (the opposite of my edit), then do your edits and then readd it. Nobody (talk) 07:15, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- Oh, ok. Thanks! KMerrigold (talk) 07:16, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- Dear @1AmNobody24,
- No, its' not working. It says: "The edit could not be undone due to conflicting intermediate edits; if you wish to undo the change, it must be done manually." KMerrigold (talk) 07:25, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- I've removed it temporarly for you. Nobody (talk) 07:26, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- Big thank you! KMerrigold (talk) 07:27, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! Please restore the Columns-list template again. I have updated what was necessary. Just in case, I might need to temporarily have it removed again later if @Randykitty asks me to delete the quotes and their translations from German and French, as there is currently a Cleanup tag on the SJES Wikipedia page. KMerrigold (talk) 08:15, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- I've already started to remove the quotes and replaced them with archive links, I'll do the rest when I find the time. Nobody (talk) 08:19, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
