Hi AngryHarpy! We share similar names! ;) Thanks for the warm welcome. Started a few draft articles for a college assignment with friends of mine (all of us editing whenever we could) these past few weeks. Learning about this watch page feature now that I have created an account. Is it okay for me to watch pages I created/contributed to in the draft space with my friends earlier? Some of those drafts are for review at AfC. Please clarify if watching my own created pages is allowed for Wikipedia. Thanks. AngryMushroom (talk) 17:04, 6 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi there, it absolutely is; you're free to add any pages you please to your watchlist, with no restrictions. Furthermore, if you want to edit the list as a whole, you can do so in your preferences under the Watchlist tab. Have fun editing! AngryHarpytalk 17:14, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks so much, AngryHarpy! I'll check all the features out. AngryMushroom (talk) 17:17, 6 August 2021 (UTC)

Gogte Group moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Gogte Group, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. DMySon (talk) 01:43, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

Hey there DMySon, thanks for the suggestion for improvements on the article. I wrote it from the two book sources I had on the founder, as you can see. I'll add more relevant sources about the companies themselves, I have access to many from my uni library, before I move it to the mainspace. I prefer patroller review in mainspace, if that's cool, as the AfC usually has a backlog and I don't wish to unnecessarily add to that. Hope there aren't any rules against me moving the article from draft to main. Cheers! AngryMushroom (talk) 06:28, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Yes, there are. Inexperienced editors should never move their own articles from draft to main. Please submit it for review and the reviewer will decide whether it is ready for mainspace. Also, as you are writing about your home area, can you confirm that you have read the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guidelines? If you have a connection with any of the people or businesses you are writing about, it's very important that you disclose it. Deb (talk) 07:18, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the notice, Deb! I will dilignetly submit it for review. In regards to conflict of interest, I assure you, I am not connected to any of the persons or companies I am contributing to Wikipedia. I am a uni student here in Pune, and the uni library provides us access to several books, journals and articles about the topics I am writing. I was surprised they weren't already covered on here given how much data there is about them. I assure you, my interest in submitting these topics to be included on here is purely academic and research based. I personally don't care if these topics get included, I'm just being nerdy here. Lol. This was my first corporate article and I thought I had written a decent start class article, and so was bugged when it was said it needed improvement, but alas I am grateful for the feedback :) I'm working on improving it now, I'd like to ping you to take a look when I'm done, if that's cool. AngryMushroom (talk) 07:36, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Yes, that's fine. I'm not sure that the family almanacs you have quoted as references are reliable sources. Obviously I am not familiar with these, but it sounds like they are published by the family themselves. Could you tell me more about them? Deb (talk) 07:41, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, Deb. Sure, I'd be happy to tell you about them! These family almanacs are family history and genealogical compilations of historical records, and medieval Indian paper/cloth scrolls from royal courts and temple scribes about the families which are being covered. They are usually commissioned by members of that particular family (why I have noted the family committee, 'samiti' in Marathi), but are authored and compiled by several unconnected historians, editors and publishers, most of whom have referenced historical sources (usually from the Maratha confederacy period, from American researchers like Linda Cox, and from the British during their colonial activities) to cover the various genealogies of the various member houses per family. I found these books being very similar to peerage or royal family almanacs published in Europe or the New England area in the US. These books are in Marathi, and so can be quite cumbersome to translate, but since they were already being used by several academic and national institutions around the world to research Indian ethnography (as found on WorldCat), I found them to be reliable enough sources to cite the personal details of the individuals I have written about so far. The only thing that bugs me is that, no matter how complete these family history records are, these books only apply to a small, and historically privileged minority of chitpavan brahmins who have contributed to Maharashtra's history. I am still on the search for similar almanacs or records that cover in depth other people groups of my city, as they too have contributed just as significantly. AngryMushroom (talk) 08:09, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Okay, that's interesting. I'm not sure if we have any articles about that concept - it might be worth considering. Deb (talk) 08:14, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Yes, Deb, these books are truly interesting to browse through. I am so happy my uni library has so many of them. They cover the etymologies of these families' surnames, their origins to the towns/villages the family hails from in the Konkan region, not to mention nearly 500-700 years of history of the families contributing to various sectors of Maharashtrian culture. They also include maps of the families' land holdings and castles/keeps ('wadas' in Marathi), histories of each member house (usually after the place a particular member from the senior-most original family went on to settle), any titles, offices or privileges accorded to the families or their branches by various kingdoms or rulers, detailed biographies of nearly all notable individuals from that family, and indexes of all marriages, births, and deaths within the family.
I was considering starting an article about this concept, but I didn't know where to begin. How do you think we could go forward with it, if in case we could? The term used for these almanacs in Marathi is 'kulavruttant', which directly translates to 'family report'. Although these kulavruttants are not unique to chitpavan brahmins, it's this community's almanacs that are the most widely covered, preserved and available. Another interesting info I learned was how truly interconnected and related these families are, as expected in any aristocratic system. If you notice from my contributions, I'm almost always confounded when I find so many of these individuals distantly related, this has resulted in me contributing in a pattern where I'm writing my next article based on an individual that was connected to the previous one i wrote about, haha! There is a Historical Society of Chitpavan Brahmins here in Pune, and I believe they house all the almanacs of the nearly 400-500 families that make up this community. I hope to go there soon, depending on covid of course, cause I wanted to contribute articles on the various kings of the Patwardhan dynasty (another chitpavan family), which would be an easier undertaking since their history is already quite well covered by English sources.
Also, please take a look at the draft. I have added data and several references, which I could find from my uni library. I don't know if there are any manual of style changes or other data that needs to be added. If its cool, as per your suggestion, I will submit it for review in AfC. Thanks for all your help AngryMushroom (talk) 09:12, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
I think it is probably okay; I would pass it if I was reviewing it. In terms of an article, you could use "kulavruttant" if you wanted - is there an equivalent article in the relevant language Wikipedia? If you belong to Wikipedia:WikiProject India, you might get help and advice from some of the regulars there, too. Deb (talk) 11:16, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the confidence, Deb! I have submitted it for review over at AfC. In regards to the article on the almanacs, let me do some research. I don't know if the Marathi Wikipedia has an article on the topic. I am a member of the Maharashtra WikiProject, and in fact there is a mention of an as yet uncreated ancestry category on their main category page:Category:WikiProject_Maharashtra_members. However, there never seems to be any active discussion happening between any members on either India's or the state's wikiprojects that I have come across. I'll be bold and write an article about it in the near future, once I have all the sources sorted. May i ping you then if i need help? AngryMushroom (talk) 12:15, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Certainly. Deb (talk) 13:24, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks @Deb, I came across a few sources to write a decent article on the topic, but I found that the main topical article of Chitpavan itself was quite flawed. I've taken the liberty to restructure it quite a bit, please do have a look if you can. thanks AngryMushroom (talk) 21:08, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
AngryMushroom , please do not delete sourced content. Please see WP:RS and WP:HISTRW and WP:NOBLANKING. Thanks LukeEmily (talk) 21:16, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
I see my mistake. thanks. AngryMushroom (talk) 21:19, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi, some of your edits are fine. I don't know the exact reason but they don't allow genetics on caste articles. Also, it will be better to use academic sources. Sandhya Gokhale is not academic but Balkrishna Govind Gokhale is good. Please do not feel discouraged. I am sorry, I thought I would be able to fix the changes but found it difficult. If you look at the history of the page, you will be able to add some of your edits again with a simple cut and paste. Thanks, LukeEmily (talk) 21:48, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
@LukeEmily thanks for the info. I'll stick to the few things I know for now. Thanks for being so polite in your explanation. AngryMushroom (talk) 21:54, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Deb, I would still like to make an article for the concept of the Kulavruttants, though. I am following the MoS from the Burke’s Peerage article. I called the Chitpavan society today but they understandably won’t let me in to see their full library collections since I’m not Chitpavan myself and am not a professional researcher with the right permits, because these books contain sensitive personal info on living persons. I’ll refer to the few research articles on kulavruttantas I’ve found at my Uni and ping you once I have something to creat an article if that’s cool. I’d like senior editors to help me with this as it is a sensitive topic about genealogy of a caste, albeit an upper and privileged one. AngryMushroom (talk) 05:56, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
I understand, though I'm not sure I will be able to make any judgment on what is and isn't sensitive in this context. However, as long as you remember to follow Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, you should be okay. Deb (talk) 06:39, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the confidence in me, I promise I will write it carefully. AngryMushroom (talk) 06:57, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey Deb, I have written the article Kulavruttanta, please check and make corrections you see fit. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 10:10, 18 August 2021 (UTC)

Kulavruttanta

It looks pretty good to me. Deb (talk) 08:58, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

Thank you so much Deb! I really appreciate it.
Can you please take a look at my doubts below about the recent articles I made? your guidance is most appreciated. I am really confused as to what can be done further and if my work on the articles i am still working on is worth it or not. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 13:53, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited May 26, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gogte. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi @LukeEmily, thanks for the message. I just saw that the edits I made on the article Chitpavan was reverted by you. I spent some hours restructuring it and editing properly sourced content and making the article more encyclopaedic in general. Did i do something wrong? I won't edit that article further if i did. I don't understand the sanctions. please explain if you can. thanks AngryMushroom (talk) 21:18, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi AngryMushroom, no worries :-) The sanctions message is for everyone - nothing specific to your edits. The problem is that Vibhakar Lele is not WP:RS.LukeEmily (talk) 21:23, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
oh! didn't know that. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 21:55, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @LukeEmily, I added the genealogy bit back to the chitpavan article, hope that's ok. It was academically sourced. AngryMushroom (talk) 06:58, 18 August 2021 (UTC)

DMySon (talk) 23:28, 18 August 2021 (UTC)

We get a lot of spam, especially from the subcontinent, so people are very vigilant in these cases. You just need to be careful when writing about businesses, that they are truly notable. I'm not saying that this one isn't, but the way you've written it does have a hint of promotion about it. I'll have a look and see if I can do anything with it. Deb (talk) 14:03, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks so much! I totally understand how that can happen. we have to be quite vigilant in our biz reports and projects at uni about companies in general, for that same reason. I truly didn't mean to write about it in any adverty way. Maybe because i was paraphrasing the sources which are mostly in the news which tends to be headline grabbing anyway? I'll look at some book sources at my uni library just in case.
This gives me hope that my efforts haven't been a waste. If I dont somehow manage to find any sober sources, I'll revert the articles to the most verifiable encyclopedic info that i can manage to get, even if that means they are stubs for now. Someone with the right info can come along and expand them later. Will such an action be allowed? AngryMushroom (talk) 14:13, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
It will be allowed, but then you run the risk of the topic not being considered notable. Also, there are certain nuances of language, phrases that are commonly used as a subtle way of promoting a company or person. For example, the phrase "Anant's grandson Saurabh Gadgil has served as the Pune based company's managing director and CEO", whilst factually correct, is actually implying "we are a long-established family business". Deb (talk) 14:27, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
That makes so much sense! I see my error and apologize for it. Thanks @Deb! This is my idea for the time being :- I'll work on submitting articles at the length the sources I have can provide for so as to not be flagged for unnotablity, but i will go out of my way to keep the language of these articles (and my future articles) very factually concise and not add any descriptive nuance that might misguide the reader when paraphrasing the source.
I am so sorry for bothering you so much about all this. I have become genuinely fascinated by the abundunt history of this small privileged section of Pune society and that's why i am worried about how my contributions might come across because i don't in any way wish to promote them or anything like that, but i think their info would serve for the greater good and add to the coverage of Pune and Maharashtra based topics. I have reread WP:NPOV and i will keep it open in a tab when I work on the articles to ensure the wording is very neutral. i hope my niche contributions are welcome since topics from India can be an issue as you have said, and focusing on a particular caste like i am doing has caused problems in the past, like LukeEmily has pointed out. As always, I happy to stop contributing if any serious issues are caused. Thanks for everything! i'll leave you alone for now and get to work (lol) AngryMushroom (talk) 14:51, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

Dajikaka Gadgil moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Dajikaka Gadgil, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. DMySon (talk) 23:30, 18 August 2021 (UTC)

Hey @DMySon, thanks for the updates on the articles I wrote. However, I am not sure how to develop them further. I am working with the sources I have access to at the moment, and I didn't find these articles I wrote to be much different from the articles I have already created on similar topics. Can you please tell me what changes I should make? I don't mind removing data you have found inappropriate and leave them at the stub stage in mainspace for now. If there are no changes, I am happy to abandon/delete these drafts. I am currently working on a few more articles on persons and companies from Pune that meet WP:GNG, in my opinion, if not WP:THREE. Namely, articles on Shashank Paranjape and his company Paranjape Schemes, Saurabh Gadgil, Sheetal Agashe, and Dhanashree Ganatra, all of whom have contemporary sources for citation that I have access to, along with the founders of the Chitale Bandhu and Camlin companies, and a couple 17th and 18th century nobles from the Peshwai for all whom I have biographies for. Those articles may come to meet similar lengths/styles for the ones on PNG and Dajikaka and to an extent Gogte Group. I am happy to abandon my efforts if these articles are more likely to be reverted to draft space as I am not sure how I can develop them further. I am doing this because I have some downtime from college and found them interesting topics to cover on here. If articles like these are not welcome, I am happy to go back to my real life studies and stuffs. do let me know how I can make good changes to them because i like contributing on here and wouldn't want to abandon the hours of research I have already put in all these articles. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 05:54, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Update! I am also considering working an article for Gautam Joglekar. Same level of notability (as far as I can tell) as the others I came across reading these almanacs of these aristocratic families from my city. May be the issue could be that my sources are in print, not available online and in another language? I can understand how reliability can be questionable for such a case, but as i explained above to Deb that these books are compiled to scientific/professional genealogical and copyediting standards and most of them are in unis and national libraries across the world in their South Asian ethnography depts studying the chitpavan aristocracy and their history in Pune. Please guide how I can go about it further. If these types of articles are not welcome, I won't submit them and get busy with real life things. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 14:01, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Deb, do a take a look at this draft in your free time. please make any changes you see fit. thanks alot, sorry if I'm bothering you too much. AngryMushroom (talk) 16:42, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
I looked at this earlier, and I'm not convinced that he will be notable in his own right. I think that, at this stage, it would be better just to make it a redirect to the article on the company. Deb (talk) 17:31, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for the feedback Deb! I was pretty convinced that the biographical mentions of his personal and early life in the almanac and the significant coverage of not only his death but his career by a trade magazine in his industry were sufficient. Are you sure about the redirect (or a merge?) of the data? I am willing to do as you suggest but i'd also like to take my chances and submit it for a review over at AfC and see what happens. maybe someone unconnected to our discussions might be a better judge? if you have the time, let me know what you think cause im not sure what further I can do to improve the article at this point, and i'd rather move onto others that i'm working on for their neutrality and language as previously mentioned above. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 17:50, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
By all means resubmit it. Redirecting would be a way of temporarily avoiding deletion until such time as you are more sure of yourself, but I can't pretend to know everything. Deb (talk) 18:44, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks so much for your honesty, Deb. I hope for the best on my submission to AfC, if it's rejected, I'll withdraw/abandon it. I won't edit the company draft for the time being either, at least until I can be sure I can achieve more neutrality on writing such an article, same applies for the other few companies I was working to write articles on. I'll go read some more Wikipedia editing tips and lessons while I work on my other articles and quit bothering you. so sorry for all this trouble. thanks for being so kind and helpful. have a good day! AngryMushroom (talk) 18:54, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

HighKing++ 20:56, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey HighKing! Thanks for your feedback on my article. The best three sources, in my opinion would be the detailed histories of the group and the companies within the group given in the two biographies on their founder, Barve (1982) and Kamath (1991). In case of a solid third, I can't choose as there are several trade books, gazettes, etc. that are industry specific to the companies listed within the article. If you notice my discussion above on my talk page (Gogte Group moved to draftspace), with another editor (User:Deb) regarding this same article, I submitted it for review after the edits they suggested i make were up to the mark according to them. if you still feel that this article is unsuitable, please go ahead and delete it as I am unsure as to what i can do further to improve it. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 21:15, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
@HighKing @DMySon Can someone please explain how the article has too many references? If I recall correctly, this article was put into drafspace exactly because there weren't the necessary amount of references. Now I have put too many? I saw WP:REFBOMB and I haven't added tons of inline citations to the statements of this article. this article follows the inline style of every other article on Wikipedia and every article I have made so far, sourcing each statement made as completely as possible. isn't that what we are supposed to aim for? This is highly frustrating and discouraging. Senior wikipedians, please help me understand if i'm doing something wrong here, I'll refrain from contributing any further if I am. thanks. AngryMushroom (talk) 14:35, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
Hello? I hope someone can find the time to explain my doubts to me. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 06:38, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi AngryMushroom, the draft has 55 references as it stands. Take the paragraph starting the "Gogte Minerals" section. 4 Sentences basically saying that Gogte founder Gogte Textiles and obtained a license to set up a textile mill but that his original funding fell through but then managed to pull funding together. You've used 12 references. Your style of citation probably doesn't help. You rely extensively on two books and quote the page number to support each piece - but you probably don't need to do it like that - just put the page range in one reference and you can then dramatically cut down on the number of references. On the subject of whether sources meet the criteria for notability, I believe the books probably do although I am unable to verify. HighKing++ 14:00, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks so much for the tips @HighKing! I'll get to making those citations cleaner shortly. Info on the two books I've used: Barve was a professor at some university here in Maharashtra or Karnataka (i'll have to check the book again to tell you which one), and M. V. Kamath was a noted biographer. Hope this helps verfiy the sources, in some way! Thanks so much for getting back to me, i've been so frustrated and confused, lol. AngryMushroom (talk) 14:12, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @HighKing! I made the changes you suggested, the citations are now 43 in total, i clubbed all the book page ranges to the final most citation per book per para. Can you please have a look? Please let me know if there is anything else i need to do. If this is all, I'll resubmit it for review. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 14:28, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi AngryMushroom, take a look at the changes to the citations scheme for one of the books, see what you think. Revert the changes if you don't like/want that style. HighKing++ 15:38, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @HighKing! thanks so much for your suggestion. If it's fine for wikipedia, then it's fine by me. Since the page range was rather broad, I thought using SFN style would be beneficial to the reader to cross-reference or verify the facts if anybody ever needed to. But if you recommend this method to reduce the number of named references, i'll go ahead and switch the Barve book to this citation style as well. Should i submit it for a review again after that or are there any more changes or any other system the article will be reviewed thru? please let me know, thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 17:39, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @HighKing, I guess you're busy. I was waiting for your reply. I've gone ahead and submitted the draft for review again, I guess that is the right process. thanks for all your kind help! Please check the draft whenever you get the time and make appropriate changes, thanks. AngryMushroom (talk) 18:50, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Iamfarzan (talk) 14:53, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Iamfarzan, thanks for your feedback on my submission. Can you guide me as to what i can do to perhaps improve the article? I am not sure as to what else can be done. As far as i can tell, the company is huge and old and is very widely covered. I worked on the article for quite a few days before i published it initially, but if the subject is still not suitable for wikipedia, i'm not sure i have the interest to continue working on the article still, i merely wanted to put up a start-class article and then let others take over. as far as i can tell, and from a cursory google search, the company is quite notable in its history, and the news coverage it regularly receives and i was surprised it wasn't already covered on the wiki. If there are any improvements you suggest i should make, i'll make them. if nothing can be done, I prefer to move on and db-g7 the draft. The company is massive and its history is already widely covered in many other sources (mostly in print and in Marathi), so I don't think being covered on Wikipedia is a necessity for this subject anyway. let me know. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 18:01, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
hi @AngryMushroom, please refer WP:GNG ,WP:Reliability and WP:NOTRELIABLE. Iamfarzan (talk) 03:02, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks so much @Iamfarzan! Makes complete sense. I'll shortly go ahead and remove all data from the sources which I now can see are questionable and unreliable. i'll probably come back to the draft after sometime as I want to write about something else for the time being. thanks though! AngryMushroom (talk) 05:05, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Iamfarzan, I have removed all the problematic sources and the data they were sourcing and kept the draft with only all the reliable sources available. Please go take a look and provide any feedback you can. If it's good for a start class article, i'll resubmit it to AfC. if it's not, i'll come back to it later. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 14:36, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

thanks @HighKing! i'll work on the draft some more. if it isn't up to standards even after that, i'll happily db-g7 it. thanks so much for your guidance and kindness. i really appreciate it. AngryMushroom (talk) 15:10, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Oh I think it's a notable topic and should eventually make it to mainspace. One last push to get rid of unnecessary references should do. I would guess (based on the types of references you're using) you should aim for about 10 references at most (see how close you can get anyway). HighKing++ 16:07, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for your feedback. its' a relief to see my interests appreciated (sorry, i've been having a rough few days on here). So, I've removed all unnecessary references. They are about 22 now, please go have a look. I'll aim for the 10 you suggest, if these are still too many. AngryMushroom (talk) 16:33, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
@HighKing: Have come down to almost 14 refs after some more cleaning. Almost all claims are neatly covered by the two books, except for a few as noted. have removed all the refs i added later because i thought was they might be necessary because the books weren't enough. do check and let me know, thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 16:46, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
@HighKing: can you also please take a look at another draft i made from the family history books i've been researching? Draft:Dajikaka Gadgil. I took your advice and also clubbed the book source i was using for this article, and removed all unnecessary sources and data from unreliable promotiony websites. i will work on it more if you see potential, or else db it. thanks for all the inputs! AngryMushroom (talk) 17:53, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi, it looks OK to me but I tend to "specialise" in WP:NCORP related topics and not so much WP:BIO topics. There are different requirements but I think you're find so long as there are independent third-party sources. BIO doesn't tend to emphasise "Independent Content" as much as NCORP. HighKing++ 19:33, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Oh ok @HighKing. i'll take advice from others about it. Should i resubmit the Gogte Group article or work on it further? AngryMushroom (talk) 19:39, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Resubmit it - it looks good to go. HighKing++ 19:43, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
@HighKing done! thanks so much for all the help. I really appreciate it. AngryMushroom (talk) 19:47, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
No, the community thanks you for your time and effort. Creating articles is a lot more work than checking. So Thank You. HighKing++ 19:51, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks so much for the appreciation, it really means a lot. I was going to give up because i didn't think my niche interest contribs were coming across as good in faith. but i would like to cover the topics from my college project on here for everyone to be as fascinated i was with.
If you can spare the time, and since you specialize in corps, can you please take a look at Draft:P. N. Gadgil Jewellers and Draft:Paranjape Schemes and tell me where i screwed up? Both have been started by current members of the historical families i'm researching about. they happen to be quite influential in the city i live in, as far as i can tell. if you see potential, I'll develop them, if not, i'm more than happy to db-g7 them. thanks HighKing, i really appreciate this. Hello, AngryMushroom! Having an article declined at Articles for Creation can be disappointing. If you are wondering why your article submission was declined, please post a question at the Articles for creation help desk. If you have any other questions about your editing experience, we'd love to help you at the Teahouse, a friendly space on Wikipedia where experienced editors lend a hand to help new editors like yourself! See you there! HighKing++ 14:10, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

Paranjape Schemes moved to draftspace. Best to go via AFC. Can't stay in mainspace like this. The coverages read very promo.

An article you recently created, Paranjape Schemes, is not suitable as written to remain published. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 02:17, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

Hey @Nomadicghumakkad! How are you??? I was one of the students who started the drafts earlier this month, if you remember. sorry, the others left. I decided to stay on and contribute. Thanks for your inputs, although i'm not sure how to develop the article further. So, i'll leave it be for now, if incase someone decides to improve it in the future. is that cool? AngryMushroom (talk) 05:39, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi @Nomadicghumakkad, i had some time tonight so i cleaned it up as per instructions another user made on another of my drafts. What do you think? if you see potential, i'll develop it, if not i'm happy to db-g7 it. I also had an article on the founder in the works, but i'm not sure if it will be appreciated if i put it forth, even in draftspace. Focusing on the very niche topics we came across during our college project has got me suspected of COI, which is quite understandable because i genuinely think i'm a Wikipedia:Single-purpose account case. so I'm happy to retire my account and not disrupt wikipedia any more after the end of this month. would appreciate your feedback. thanks! Edwardx (talk) 22:38, 20 August 2021 (UTC)

Hey @Edwardx, thanks for the notif! I left the article at a stub because I wasn't sure what all to put because i'd noticed the article had been deleted before for blatant advertising. Please see my discussion with Deb above on my talk page to be assured that I have no COI and nor am I paid for my contributions. I vote to keep the article, but i'll refrain from voting on the discussion page since i'm the author of the article. i'm sure an experienced editor will come by and expand the article with all the right stuff. the sources I've put on there for the time being do seem reliable to me, and a simple google search will tell you there is a lot coverage on the subject. let me know if you need me to do anything else. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 05:54, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi @Edwardx, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I don't know what else to do but apologize for contributing to Wikipedia. I saw your comments on the deletion discussion page, and now i feel very bad. The fault is entirely mine, the topics are from a very niche and interrelated subject that i came across when doing a college assignment. I never meant to disrupt Wikipedia and i have the utmost respect for all you editors and the policies you have in place. I don't know if there is any other way but to show my real life identity on here to prove that i have no COI, but I'm not comfy with that. So I won't contribute any further, i had some articles in the pipeline but i'll put them thru AfC because i'm proud of the hours of research i put in. But Please feel free to delete the pages i have created so far if they are problematic, I don't care if they are on the wiki or not. I'll wait until the end of this month for any pending discussions and then retire/abandon this account. thanks for being so kind in informing me about your doubts in my edits. I'm sorry i dont know what else to do in this case. Good bye. AngryMushroom (talk) 05:53, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
PS: I found this essay on your userpage and i am convinced that that makes me a Wikipedia:Single-purpose account, and so, i'll politely depart the wiki before i cause any further damage. AngryMushroom (talk) 06:13, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi @Edwardx, hope you are well. i don't wish to be discouraged, and after some advice from other senior editors, i've reconsidered working on this article. can you please move it to draftspace after the deletion discussion closes? i'll spend my time incubating it as much as i can, until it is established that the article is either acceptable or an absolute lost cause, upon which i'll happily db-g7 it. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 06:53, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
AngryMushroom, if it gets deleted then I cannot move it into draftspace for you, as only an admin can recover deleted articles. The simple solution is to copy it now and save it as a text document on your computer. Being a good Wikipedia editor is not easy, especially if you want to create new articles on business subjects. There is much to learn and persistence is required. Edwardx (talk) 10:02, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
Thank you @Edwardx! I am willing to learn and be persistent in all future drafts I make on such subjects. this way i can always db-g7 them if they have no potential without causing any disruption to the mainspace. But the studious researcher in me would like to contribute this part of my city's history on here for everyone else to be fascinated by as much as i have been these past few months. thanks for your inputs, however I must admit that being accused of coi was a little hurtful but i totally understand why you need to be suspicious and this is what makes Wikipedia such a great source for info in general. to avoid such issues i'll put all my future drafts thru afc just to be safe because the way these almanacs go and how i can check them out from my uni library, I'll have to write about individuals from the same families and topics related to them per book. thank you for being patient and understanding. may i ping you every now and then to show you what progress i have made on my drafts in the coming weeks? your help/edits/tips will be most helpful :) AngryMushroom (talk) 16:08, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

The best advice I have for you (for articles on companies/organizations) is to try to ensure the sources meet the criteria for establishing notability. There are two primary sections of NCORP where most people fall down. The "Independent Content" section of WP:ORGIND is strict and only when you begin to analyse sources do you realise that nearly all rely sole on information provided by the company/employee/founder/customer/funder/etc. It is very difficult to find sources where an unconnected source relays information about the company. Books and Analyst reports are really useful for this. I would also say often times, the notability of the founder and the company are intertwined - so much so that focusing an article on the founder (which can include a section on the company) is often an easier route for an article. Similarly, sometimes an article on a product is the right way to go for the same reasons - sometimes there are "product reviews" by third parties which makes it easier to show the notability of the product rather than the company. I would check out the references needed to meet the criteria for notability *before* starting any article.
I don't mind getting pinged now and then to check something but very soon you'll be familiar with Wikipedia and policies and guidelines and there are a lot of helpful people here. Try to make progress and get familiar with policies. Maybe look at the dispute resolution parts of Wikipedia so that you can understand how polarised some topics are and how best to avoid unnecessary conflict. Take care. HighKing++ 10:15, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
@HighKing: Thanks so much for that link! I will endeavor to write these drafts VERY carefully, as i feel that these companies are important Pune related topics and i've already gone ahead and asked for some good book and business academic sources at my uni on these topics. thanks so much for all your help and inputs! i won't bother you too much, i'll ping you only if i get stuck somewhere or when i'm confident about the draft's condition and need a final review before i hit submit. i'll also make use of the help me template for feedback from others. thank so so much! i truly appreciate it! Confused and scared

Hi Wikipedia, as you can see, my contributions to the wiki have been from a niche field since I joined (which i even discussed on Teahouse). As I explained to User:Deb above, (See 'Gogte Group moved to draftspace') I came onto Wikipedia to volunteer information on notable families, the persons within them and their careers from a small ethnic minority (Chitpavans) here in Pune, the city I study in. This was after my classmates and I stumbled across them when doing a project for college these past few months on the topic. I even told Deb how I came about the information i am contributing and she encouraged me to even write about the medium, which I gladly did: Kulavruttanta.

I would actually say that none of the topics I am writing about even need wikipedia articles at all! They are already impressively covered in detail by medieval scrolls, family history almanacs, biographies, books, journals, gazettes, newspapers and modern uni research papers/books on them, their lives/careers, and their contribs to the history of Pune and Maharashtra. They already have institutions, streets, buildings, chambers, associations, and awards named after them; so they don't really need wikipedia to cover them for any reason. I was merely volunteering the information i found on them thru my uni library to wikipedia because wikipedia is digital, in English and has a wider reach, whereas the plethora of sources is in Marathi, in print, quite old, and hard to access.

On some articles, I even admit to my mistakes in not paraphrasing correctly and not triple checking for NPOV, but I am willing to learn and grow, if I am welcome to do so. I think i've been perfectly polite and civil in my discussions with senior editors too, but i now feel like i'm at a loss.

What frustrates me now is the inconsistency in review and lack of clarity in the feedback I have received on my recent contributions. I am confused as to how the two biographies i cited were ok on the bio of Raosaheb Gogte but are not ok on Draft:Gogte Group, given how they go into detail about the history of companies he founded as well. How the article of Shivrampant Damle is ok but an article on Draft:Dajikaka Gadgil is not, when it cites the same kinds of sources and follows the same structure/style.

I feel quite discouraged about the issues that have been raised on some of the articles i have made recently (like Saurabh Gadgil not being notable for running PNG Jewellers which is nearly 200 years old that also surprisingly doesn't already have an article given how much coverage it receives?). I have been that content coming from India maybe very spammy, but i think any logical person can tell my articles have not been spam, and i'm proud to say that i have tried my best to add only the most verifiable content.

I am not sure how any of these articles/topics defer from say German or Italian noble families from a former imperial city that now have various businesses and businesspeople coming from them. It feels like some sort of censorship towards topics from India, and that really baffles me because articles on similar topics in Europe or America seem to be included without issues.

I am now scared to contribute anything as i had similar articles on Chitpavan persons (modern and historical) and orgs in the pipeline, but i have discarded them now, because i feel they may not pass Wikipedia's policy on topics from India. I have already spent hours writing and researching to meet wikipedia's standards, and i dont wish to spend anymore time explaining my contribs again and again, I'm sorry to say.

As you can tell, i am passionate and nerdy about my contribs and was quite proud of the articles i put up. if my edits in this niche i am interested in are not welcome, i am happy to stop and retire this account. I'd rather go put my efforts into writing about these subjects (who easily pass WP:GNG, if not WP:THREE and WP:BASIC as far as i can tell) for my college assignments. if nothing, at least i'll get an extra credit or two lol.

Thanks for reading all this, if you did. AngryMushroom (talk) 08:04, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Hey, I just saw that you posted this. Let me read it, and I'll be happy to help you... :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:06, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks so much @Oshwah. i really appreciate it. i'm sorry if it's too lenghty, i have been told not to explain so much in the past. lol, cant help it! AngryMushroom (talk) 08:08, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
No problem! I'm always happy to help! :-) So, it sounds like you're trying to start some new articles by writing some pages into the draft space. They keep getting deleted, and you're feeling discouraged because of that. Don't worry, that's no reason to leave Wikipedia! :-) I think that you should start by reading through this page. It goes over things such as notability and other things. By knowing what things should have their own Wikipedia article and what things don't, you won't waste your time by trying to create it in the first place. Have you taken some time to read through Wikipedia's guidelines on article subjects, creating an article, and notability? I think that you should take some time and do so, as this will help you to prepare before creating another draft page. I'm absolutely available and willing to help you. Should you run into questions, please message me on my user talk page and we can chat about it. :-) Don't be afraid! Remember: we encourage you to be bold! Don't feel discouraged and feeling like you have to throw in the towel and leave Wikipedia. Let's get you through learning a few things so that you'll have a better start. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:16, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Oshwah, that's not quite what I meant. None of my articles have been deleted so far. I have contributed good ones the entire time i've been here. It's the ones that have been flagged, three made into drafts and one considered for deletion that sorta confuse me. They don't seem to be any different from the ones that have been successfully accepted onto the wiki. Hence my confusion and slight fear in contributing unhealthy articles, because i put in a lot of effort in making them and then seeing them be flagged is discouraging, and if that is bound to happen, i'd rather not waste time writing them in the first place. Hope this makes my stance a little clearer. Do read thru my earlier message again, if you'd like, or tell me which parts to explain further.
PS; your userpage is awesome! thanks AngryMushroom (talk) 09:05, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
AngryMushroom - Aha! Okay, that makes more sense. Sorry, I've been awake for about 24 hours. I'm pooped. :-) Now that I get what you're saying, I definitely want to help you. Let me review your contributions, and let me follow up with you... and maybe get some sleep, too. :-) Is that okay with you? I don't want you to leave Wikipedia. Stick around; we'll figure out what's going on. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 09:22, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Oshwah, I hope you have a restful sleep. I am here to help clarify in anyway that might be possible. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your willingness to help me. i felt so weird and conflicted about continuing, because I'm a bit of a perfectionist student in real life and having my work critiqued by the powers that be really ups my stress levels, lol.
After you've seen my contribs and the pages i've made so far, please let me know how we will proceed. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 14:06, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Oshwah! Hope you're all well rested and having a happy weekend. Did you get time to review my contribs? let me know if you need me to send/provide you with anything. i had a few ideas and drafts I wanted you to have a look at. Super excited that you're willing to help! thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 10:51, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi AngryMushroom! Yes I did! :-) I need to respond to some messages on my user talk page, then I'll take a look at your contributions. We'll speak soon. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 14:16, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi @Oshwah! I'm not sure I would like to continue, my niche interests are being suspected of COI, and i can understand why, but explaining myself again and again is tiring. Upon some further study of Wikipedia:Single-purpose account, i feel this is what my account's activities have become given my limited scope of contribs that began because of my college project with my friends. I'll work on the pages i already have going on (I've put too much effort inthem already), and maybe submit the ones i already worked on thes past few days over at AfC, but i'll refrain from editing and doing any further damage. So, In good faith, I'll retire my account by the end of the month. thanks so much for your warm words. if you would like, i'll ping you when i make the drafts i was working on about subjects from another Chitpavan family almanac i was studying with my classmates. if there are no improvements to be made, i'm happy to db-g7 them. AngryMushroom (talk) 15:09, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi AngryMushroom. I'm sorry to hear that you don't feel like you'd like to stay on Wikipedia as an editor and a member of the community. I think that you'd be a fantastic editor once you get your bearings and become proficient with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You don't have to contribute in the areas where you might have a conflict of interest; there are millions of articles that you can edit and improve, and I'm sure that there are some of them out there that would interest you. You don't have to contribute to Wikipedia by creating and expanding articles, either. There are plenty of tasks that you can do on Wikipedia that help the project. There's recent changes patrolling (that's what I do the most), deletion discussions that you can help with, and there are many WikiProjects that may interest you that you can participate in. In the end, it's up to you - I obviously can't force you to stay if you don't want to. However, I can definitely tell you that Wikipedia is a fun place to volunteer, and that you'd enjoy it once you find something to do that you like. :-) Let me know what you'd like to do, and I'll be happy to help you either way. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:26, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the warm words @Oshwah. I think i'll conclude my wikipedia experiment with the drafts I've already put my research in. Can you help me fix some of the issues that have been pointed out on my drafts by other editors? i am nothing if not proud of the work i've done so far. i feel so silly about having been so passionate about these noble families i came across and their histories and their modern members, that i got carried away and i can only apologize about that. I knew stuff like this existed in Europe, but id never thought it would be there in India, forget right here in Pune where i live! I'd only heard about these people, and they've got buildings, roads etc named after them and I knew of their stories before but i never knew there was any substance to them. and then when my classmates and i began our sociology project on them i was blown away by the wealth of data on these families. Maybe my annoying nerdy interest was my bias, and if wikipedia needs me to, i'll happily declare it. but for now, after i finish my work on the drafts (if nothing can be improved, i'll self deleted them happily), i'll retire my account and go back to my real world hobbies. thanks for everything! AngryMushroom (talk) 15:44, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Oshwah: after some feedback from other senior editors, i've made some hopefully constructive edits to these pages I created: Draft:Paranjape Schemes, Draft:P. N. Gadgil Jewellers, Draft:Dajikaka Gadgil and Saurabh Gadgil (which is up for deletion because he's not notable, tho i see differently from a quick Google search, but i admit to probably having unconscious bias for having recently read on him and his family extensively, and so i refrain from voting). do you see any potential with them or am i just wasting my time? your feedback is most appreciated. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 19:45, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Oshwah! Hope you got some time to look into my request. thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 05:47, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

Hey @HighKing, I'm starting this new section for feedback on the draft. I aim to work on it more in the coming few days as i've found some great print sources at my uni library on the subject which i've asked the librarian to translated for me. I hope i'm not bothering you with this. Your feedback was the best I've received so far. may i ping you when i've developed it further? please let me know. thanks so much! AngryMushroom (talk) 06:42, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

Hey AngryMushroom, I see that you are already getting the privilige of having feedback from HighKing. Their feedback is of course bang on. What I can also suggest is that before creating a draft, you can discuss notability and provide WP:THREE so that your time is not wasted and you only work on drafts of subjects that are agreed to be notable. During this process, you will learn a lot of things. WP:TEA is a great place to do this. You are choosing to create biographies and companies - both are very sensitive and we have strict policies for both. So you might encounter a lot of abrasiveness and questions. But I am happy that you stayed. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 02:07, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the kind words @Nomadicghumakkad! i know, i thought it would all be easy and i'd be finished by now and back to my college studies! But, I'm willing to learn and grow and working on incubating drafts on these topics is my safest bet. I'll grow out of writing about such a niche topic someday i hope! bcuz i want to contrib more and i'm interested in many other fields that have a wide scope here on the Wiki. i just hope its ok that i'm choosing to focus on Chitpavans as a subject for now because i'm already in too deep at this point. Thanks for all the links and to all you senior editors helping me out. i was feeling so lost and disheartened because. I am going to be SUPERDUPER careful in the way i draft my drafts because of the nature of the subject matter. May I ping you to check out the drafts i'm working on every now and then?
FYI, for my current drafts, i have asked my uni librarian to provide me books and business and analytics reports about the current companies i'm drafting articles for. i have also asked the librarians to provide me proper translations of the Marathi biographies on the brothers who began Chitale Bandhu and the founder of Camlin Stationary, hopefully i can use them for the lengthy and properly sourced articles i have already made for the Gogtes out of their books. i've also asked my college to get me books from other libraries about the various kings in the Patwardhan dynasty as well because i saw they were lacking articles. Also, do you remember the articles on the Agashes the girls in my group were working on? they had been in touch with you about them if you recall? but then when they decided to leave wikipedia, they db-g7 those articles. Yeah, so, that family was the initial family our professor directed us to for our class project, and i happened to hear one of the people from there on a biz podcast recently, and so i'd like to take another crack at making them properly, if i can. i'll ping you when i make them next week, because i'll need to go check their family's books out from our library and we're only allowed once a week visits to the library cause of covid restrictions and all and i'm a little busy this week.
For the time being, can you check out Draft:Dajikaka Gadgil and see if it's ok or needs improvements? I have the Gadgil kulavruttanta and other books on that family with me right now so i can work on them further if need be, plus we have online access to most stuff at our uni from our home pcs. let me know (please reply in the section below about PNG since the topic is related). I'm sorry to see that you are stressed here on Wikipedia. It is not intended to be that way. I suggest you take a short break, then spend a bit of time reading all the rules of Wikipedia, which have rather grown over the years, then spend time just fixing minor errors in articles, and then think about creating new articles about places and things you know about and know why they are notable enough for an article. I have been editing Wikipedia for over 16 years. It was a much more friendly place when I started. Stick to it. It is fascinating project. --Bduke (talk) 07:14, 5 September 2021 (UTC)

Hi @Bduke! Thanks for your kind words of comfort. Like I explained below to another user, it is the general lack of clarity in the feedback, the strong opposition to subjects from my country, and rather subjective interpretation of what is or isn't acceptable that has been frustrating. But now that I have received some good feedback, I am feeling good and confident about my contribs to the wiki. Thanks for the break suggestion, however I feel if I leave Wikipedia now, I might be inclined to not come back. My experience has been great for the most part, but where it has not, it has really impacted by stress levels. I hope my experience going forward gets better as per today's feedback that I have received. I hope going forward my stress is not conditioned to get triggered whenever the bell turns red in the corner above. Thanks so much for your warm words, tho. I really appreciate it. OMG @Sdkb! Thank you so much! I am replying to you here, because I don't wish to clutter Teahouse with walls of text. Since you've seen my previous discussions, I'm sure you know my replies are lengthy (lol).
Yes, all my articles were of similar styles, length and depth, but I reverted them from detailed articles to the stubs you see now because I thought maybe that is what was expected, given the Marathi language offline sources were problematic. I know I kinda dug my own grave after discovering the opposition to Indian topics, especially because of what my college project was, I'm writing about subjects from just one ethnic group from one city from one state, who are all related/connected to each other in someway as in every aristocratic system - plenty of ammo for COI/UPE suspicion. But alas, my interest is all academic because of this particular community's impact on the culture here which I'm studying. I've seen paid editors when I've been snooping around on the wiki and the many edit wars that can result from that, and I'm not cut out for all that. The closest I've come to any of my subjects is probably when patronizing their businesses which I'm writing about, and once when one of them gave a TED talk at the college I'm at a few years ago.
But, I have to wholeheartedly THANK YOU for your compliment that my articles are well written. You are only one of two editors who've complimented my contribs in the month I have been on here. The other user who did, was quite fascinated by the family almanacs I was using and even suggested I make an article about the concept, which I gladly did: Kulavruttanta. Honestly, I must thank my professors for demanding we write our reports in a very similar style to Wikipedia articles, and so it was easy for me to grasp the manual of style and type of credible sources required.
Thanks for the tip on moving the pages for new page patrol review. I wasn't sure I was allowed to do that. As you see in my contributions, I was making articles in the main space until they all suddenly started getting flagged and then I was strongly suggested to put them thru AFC, which I diligently have done. But thanks to the confidence you have instilled in my contribs, I will move the drafts I am confident about to mainspace in good faith and leave a note in the summary explaining why.
What really has frustrated me has been the lack of clarity in the review feedback, and the rather subjective interpretation of what is or isn't allowed on Wikipedia. I will also, of course, admit my mistakes in places when I didn't neutralize the copy properly. In the previous case, take the Draft:Sarvatra Technologies for example, for which I cited reports from reputed sources on the company's impact on its industry, its facts and figures, along side awards from reputed institutions and yet I encountered opposition for lacking sigcov, when it is recommended at NCORP to avoid the latest Google news coverage because a lot of it could be sponsored and it is hard to distinguish between genuine news on the company and reports from press releases.
I have been very polite in my interactions and am very willing to explain my sources that I'm getting from my uni library (like I did to a willing senior editor, which resulted in the creation of Kulavruttanta), because they are numerous, detailed and pretty encyclopedic themselves. It's merely been the lack of clarity on what is expected of me at AFC that has really frustrated me, but thanks to you my confidence in my own work and willingness to contribute to Wikipedia has come back. I was considering retirement, otherwise.
But I thank you once again for your compliment, your patience in explaining everything to me, for giving me some room to breathe and encouraging me to work on things in a more welcoming way. Like you said, if you come from the right place, it will eventually work out - and it has! Sorry if this was all too much to read! AngryMushroom (talk) 13:54, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Sdkb, I went ahead and moved the page Mandar Agashe. I hope I am not attacked for this because I just noticed that a page of the same name was discussed and deleted a year ago. Not sure what the content was or who wrote that article, so I'm guessing it was spam. I hope we are allowed to create articles on previously deleted pages. If my move was not advisable, please revert the article to draft. I will probably db-g7 it from there, because I don't have any interest in developing this article further. Thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 15:46, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
Ditto for P. N. Gadgil Jewellers and Sheetal Agashe. Thanks! AngryMushroom (talk) 19:53, 8 September 2021 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Sheetal Agashe requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Mandar Agashe

Hello, AngryMushroom,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username MPGuy2824 and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Mandar Agashe, for deletion, because a consensus decision previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to restore a page deleted via a deletion discussion, please use the deletion review process instead, rather than reposting the content of the page.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|MPGuy2824}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

MPGuy2824 (talk) 09:02, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

Hi @MPGuy2824, thanks for letting me know. I was doing a college project on the subject's family when I found that he didn't have an article, and hence made it from the sources I had access to. I'm not sure how similar mine is to the previous one because I haven't seen it. As far as I could tell, he passed GNG (I have included sources about his bank scam case and articles from some Marathi newspapers about his music that write about him in adequate depth). I even asked on the Teahouse if I should make such an article (when asking about some draft feedback), and the general response I got was "if the core content policies are met, go ahead".
I don't wish to contest this deletion as I have no intention on working on this article any further, I have written it as per the sources I have access to and if they are not up to the mark and the community decides to delete it once more, I'll stand by their decision. I've already had a stressful experience contributing to Wikipedia because I've merely wanted to create bios and topics related to my college project (Chitpavan brahmins from Pune, Maharashtra) and I was quite discouraged and felt very unwelcome in doing so from the response I got from other editors for what I thought were properly written and sourced articles.
Because of all this, I've retired my account only a month into editing. So, I'm sorry but I won't be contesting this deletion as I have no energy/interest in contributing to Wikipedia anymore. Thanks for understanding. AngryMushroom (talk) 14:00, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
