DYK for Grizel Niven
[edit]On 8 November 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Grizel Niven, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Grizel Niven created "The Bessie", the Women's Prize for Fiction statuette, which a past winner called "ugly"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Grizel Niven. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Grizel Niven), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Bronek Masojada
[edit]@Edwardx - many thanks your attention to the Alderman Masojada article & I wholeheartedly agree with your amendments but I've just reinstated a link for BSc (as MPhil is also linked) and I've added the prefix of the Hon. before James Bruce as this provides relevant context (his daughter having married into a Scottish noble family). Hope you concur - many thanks. Best Primm1234 (talk) 10:40, 14 November 2024 (UTC)

Name needs to match title, surely?
[edit][1] Doug Weller talk 12:25, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- His full name is Muhammad Ziauddin Yusuf, as cited lower down. He is known as Zia Yusuf. Plenty of other such articles. Edwardx (talk) 13:06, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Edwardx We often don't use the full name, see WP:COMMONNAME. I know what his full name is, and it's right that it should be in the article. But the first sentence must match the article title. Doug Weller talk 13:35, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. However, you should look at the actual examples given in WP:COMMONNAME. Sorry, but I have had to revert you again, in line with WP:COMMONNAME. Edwardx (talk) 14:18, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) I think the most relevant guideline would be Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biography#First mention which supports Edward's changes. the wub "?!" 14:28, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
