A set of Russian futsal club templates which are just wrappers for simple links. A lot (most maybe) of the links are red links. The templates should be deleted and usages should be replaced with a direct link to the team article. Tagging the other templates in process. Gonnym (talk) 21:32, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unused, with invalid content. I think this was some sort of test. All of these people attended Cornell University, not the Culinary Institute of America. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:58, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, delete. I was hoping to create something like Cornell has, but I realized that unfortunately most of the notable alumni of the CIA don't even have freely-licensed photos that could be used here :( ɱ (talk) 15:10, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to smash your dream. It's a nice gallery template; you might stash the code in one of your user pages and then use it directly in the CIA article if you can find some photos. If the content is going to be used in only one article, I don't see a need for a template. – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:29, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Used on talk pages all around the project, ending up in years-old archives, this seems to be a classical example of a template that should automatically be substituted by AnomieBOT. It would be trivial to implement this change by adding the relevant code to the template's documentation subpage, so this is not a classical edit request. I am rather posting this here to see if someone raises an objection in the next, say, 30 days. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 09:49, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@ToBeFree: AnomieBOT refuses to substitute templates with >100 transclusions unless they are added to the template-protected User:AnomieBOT/TemplateSubster force, so this will in fact require a template editor to implement. (I'm neutral on whether this should be substituted.) * Pppery * has returned 04:09, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see, thank you for the clarification. That does seem to be a reasonable safeguard. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 11:08, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, Pppery, I forgot about this, thank you very much. Hmm hmm. In the meantime, at Special:PermanentLink/896892472#Request for creation, I have learned that I may need to be more careful about consistency-justified requests. This one has potential for mass disruption if anything goes wrong, and the benefit is negligible. I abandon this request, but I do not object to it. Any template editor or administrator who sees a need to substitute this template can probably do so, pointing to this discussion but taking the responsibility for the edit themselves. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:37, 17 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
