Dario Bisso Sabàdin

[edit]

I am modifying and maintaining the page about Dario Bisso Sabàdin. Following the comments from Gerda Arendt, I have polished up the style of the page, and tried to introduce a comprehensive set of references to support the various claims. @Gerda Arendt and Wham2001: At this stage, in my opinion the page has undergone enough changes in the requested direction, and deserves to be restored in the main space (out of draft). Clearly, the page will continue to be improved, but that can happen also in the main space. For this reason, I would like to ask you to restore the page as soon as possible, or maybe ask BD2412 is you'd prefer. Thank you Tramarin (talk) 04:33, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for asking. I'm a bit pressed for time right now )look around on my talk), so would prefer to look a bit later, like next week. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:14, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Tramarin, thanks for the note. I'm rather busy with work this week, but I will try to get to it at the weekend. Thanks, Wham2001 (talk) 18:13, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you both for replying and your willingness to look at the page. In the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dario Bisso Sabàdin page, the editor BD2412 moved the page to draft with this statement "which can remain in draft until the issues raised as a basis for deletion are resolved". Meanwhile, in the User talk:Wham2001, at the entry about Dario Bisso, we have collected further information. Indeed, while the "issue raised as a basis for deletion" was about violation of the Wikipedia:GNG, we subsequently has the input from Gerda Arendt that stated plainly that she "find the person clearly notable". This hence definitely resolves the initial issue. Furthermore, following all the suggestions arrived both from Gerda Arendt and Wham2001, the page has been significantly revised, and is now better looking, with full referencing. Therefore, what I would like to suggest is a two-step process. On the one hand, I ask that the page is restored back as a Wikipedia article. For this, I would ask to BD2412, the original closer, to restore it. The motivation seems to me more than sufficient, and this would also enable several links to that page to restart working. In the end, this long absence of the page based on a motivation that has been proven to be inaccurate is, in my opinion, in some way against the spirit of Wikipedia. On the other hand, I may continue the editing and enhancing to the page. Both Gerda Arendt and Wham2001 ensured their support in guiding this process, and this will surely improve the page.

I hope you may understand and agree with my request. Thanks, Tramarin (talk) 15:11, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead, - I'll look closer soon but trust that it's good enough to be moved from draft. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:24, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The draft should be submitted through the regular AFC process, so that the decision is made by uninvolved parties. BD2412 T 15:32, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Fine, - but how. It lacks the "normal" AfC template, and I am inexperienced in the field.
I gave it a rough copy-edit. Tramarin, references go behind punctuation, and Italian subjects normally get dd/mm/yyyy date formats. Please tell us if Bisso is part of the surname (I guess so), and avoid all mentioning of the given name once introduced. Also, things such as cities where he performed - boring list, sorry - and prizes should come with a reference. I will look again later. Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:45, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Gerda Arendt, for the list of cities, it is sometimes difficult to find a reference, since often those performance happened in a time where Internet coverage was not so pervasive. What do you suggest?
Then, Bisso is his surname (it is Sabadìn which has been added later). Thank you for your precious editing, but how the AfC process behave? Can we have some input by BD2412? Thanks Tramarin (talk) 17:11, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for not making any edits this weekend; I was really not feeling up to it. I've done some tidying and added a reference.
One tedious point which I care about in general so feel obliged to bring up here: Tramarin, does the video in reference number 1 directly support the date of birth? I do not understand spoken Italian very well so can't verify that for myself. If not then the date of birth either needs a separate reference or should be removed; see the policy on dates of birth in biographical articles.
I agree with BD2412 that putting the article through AfC is the best way forward. I have added the {{Draft article}} template to the top. Tramarin: once you feel that it's ready, you should click on the "Submit for review" button. Then the draft will go into a queue to be reviewed by an independent editor. Once somebody picks it up it will be reviewed against Wikipedia policies and guidelines; it will then either be accepted or bounced back to you for further improvement. There is some more information here. Best wishes, Wham2001 (talk) 20:18, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I looked now, and removed - until sourced - the two tagged facts, because it wouldn't be accepted with tags. Do you have any review of one of his concerts/opera performances? It can be offline. Something about his style of music-making would be highly desirable. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:21, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
