You can sign your name on talk pages by using " ~~~ " for your username and " ~~~~ " for your username and a timestamp. Signing your name is important on talk pages because it helps people get in touch with you. Also remember to indent each of your comments using : so that other users can follow the flow of discussions As well as editing wikipedia you could also think about taking part in many other essential activities that make wikipedia a friendly place. For example you could welcome new users to wikipedia or you could try mediating discussions between other users. There are loads of other options at the Wikipedia:Community Portal. Some links to get you started in the community:
If you have any questions or just want to chat then leave a message on my talk page and I'll answer as soon as possible. Happy editing, Daniel.Bryant 10:46, 12 September 2006 (UTC) |
License tagging for Image:Hydrolase mech.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Hydrolase mech.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:05, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- You can reupload the image but you must select the appropriate licensing info. Also, check the Chemdraw software to see if you or they own images you create. Thatcher131 01:28, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- If you could upload images to Wikimedia Commons instead it would be nice. It only takes a few seconds to create an account there, and then everyone can find and use the images. Richard001 04:35, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Categorising
[edit]Hi, I saw you added a lot of sugars to the category category:carbohydrates. Although also for me these things are sometimes confusing, I am sorry to say, that this is not how the categories work. Most of the compounds are categorized in lower categories (as low as possible), and most of them were already in those categories. In some cases it is OK that they are in a category ánd in the subcategory, but in this case, the category:carbohydrates just overfills, and it is better to use the subcategories. I am making a beginning to remove the categories again. Again, I am sorry for the work you put into this. --Dirk Beetstra T C 00:00, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Koenigs.gif
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Koenigs.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Jusjih (talk) 03:40, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Spencerw. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Asengeprast, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:57, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
