Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Draft:Samuel Robinson Jr., may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless used with permission. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Samuel Robinson Jr. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://about.me/samssun. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Deletion?

[edit]

I don't understand why a "Speedy deletion", this is my (Samuel "Samssun" Robinson Jr's) Universal Biography. Something2saycommunications (talk) 16:51, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions. It appears that you tried to create an article about yourself. However, the following problems exist with your submission:
  1. You cannot post copyrighted material on Wikipedia - even if you are the copyright holder - unless the material has been released for use by the verified copyright owner into the public domain or under a license compatible with Wikipedia. These licenses allow anyone — not just Wikipedia — to share, distribute, transmit, and adapt your work, free of charge and in perpetuity, provided that you are attributed as the author. Also, because some derivative works may be commercial, we cannot accept materials that are licensed only for educational use or even for general non-commercial use. Releasing the material is both permanent and irrevocable.
  2. Wikipedia requires that a person meet its notability criteria to be deemed worthy of inclusion as the subject of an article. It means a person must have already been the subject of significant coverage by multiple sources that are both reliable and independent of that person. Self-published sources (such as press releases, interviews and social media) are not considered reliable, and are disqualified from establishing notability. Wikipedia:Perennial sources is a good place to find out which sources are deemed reliable and which are not.
  3. Editors are highly discouraged from writing about themselves, due to the inherent difficulty of writing from the required neutral point of view, and being an objective judge of their own notability. Please note that writing with the intention to promote anything or anyone is strictly prohibited.
  4. You posted the material to your userpage, which is not an encyclopedia article. A userpage is a special page where you can write a small amount of biographical information about yourself and your interest as they relate to editing Wikipedia. It is not a free personal web site, social media page, resumé/CV or space for any kind of self-promotion.
  5. Your account is named after your business, which is a violation of Wikipedia's username policy. Accounts cannot be named after businesses, organizations or groups of people; they must denote a single individual.
I'm sorry that this message wasn't more favourable. However, if your only purpose on Wikipedia is to promote yourself and your work, your account will likely remain blocked. If you want to become a single contributor writing about topics where you have no conflict of interest, then you can submit an unblock request and propose a new username. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:29, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.
