Confusion with Basket bal0991
[edit]Hello. You have a new message at GorillaWarfare's talk page.
Why did I Contact You
[edit]First of all I'm here to answer your questions:
I contacted you about the vandalism because I usually pick random administrators when I find vandalism on Wikipedia. Also, I did actually edit Basket bal0991's talk page. He/she sent me a message but I answered on my talk page. I recently cleared a some messages off my talk page, and Basket bal0991's was one of them. Slayer2448 (talk) 18:44, 4 February 2011 (UTC)Slayer2448Slayer2448 (talk) 18:44, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, I should have clarified. I meant that I could see in the history of his/her talk page that you had not edited the page except for when you posted the talkback. In other words, I saw that you didn't accidentally leave a warning on his page that could have confused him. As for when you find vandalism on Wikipedia, I assume you mean you contact an admin only when there's a problem like this. If not, I should clarify that when you find vandalism it's generally adequate to just revert the vandal and leave him or her a warning on his or her talk page. Also, to clarify, you seem to be leaving duplicate signatures a lot. Simply adding ~~~~ is adequate -- you don't need to double it. Cheers! – GorillaWarfare talk • contribs 20:21, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
- Side note: I see on your user page that you have a link called "stats" that links to Help:User contributions. If you want this to link to your own contributions, you can replace the link with Special:Contributions/Slayer2448. If this isn't what you intended, then feel free to ignore this message. – GorillaWarfare talk • contribs 20:24, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Oh yes, with stats somebody redirected my contributions page to Wikipedia:Special Contributions. It was fine with me, but I see what you mean. I haven't checked the history, but I'll see what I can do.~~Slayer2448~~

Sawjan Suspected Sockpuppet
[edit]Thanks for the tip, but I don't quite understand where to report when I think a user is sockpuppet of another user. Please tell me here. Thanks! Slayer2448 (talk) 22:03, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
Side note: I have an idea user Sawjan is a sockpuppet of either Aawjgnekr. Why? Because (s)he re-created the attack page Chase Oliver, which Aawjgnekr previously created. I think Sawjan might be a sockpuppet of a variety of vandalism-only accounts, which also might be sockpuppets of Aawjgnekr.
Slayer2448 (talk) 22:03, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
- I have blocked the user. Aawjgnekr is a known sockpuppeteer, and it would be highly unlikely for two different people to create the same page. In the future, you can report any suspicions of sockpuppetry at WP:SPI. There is a section on how to do so there. – GorillaWarfare talk • contribs 23:02, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
Hello. You have a new message at Sawjan's talk page. – GorillaWarfare talk • contribs 19:01, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
Adoption
[edit]Hey again, Slayer. I have a bit of an odd question, but I thought I'd ask. Are you interested in adoption? You seem to be pretty passionate about Wikipedia, and we have an adoption program for new users such as yourself. If you are, I'd be willing to adopt you. Let me know. – GorillaWarfare talk • contribs 19:05, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
- Also, are you running for adminship? – GorillaWarfare talk • contribs 19:12, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
No, not right now, I'm not interested in adoption. I also don't understand it all. Slayer~2448 12:00, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- It's all explained pretty thoroughly at Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user. Basically, it's a program where more experienced users "adopt" new users. I would act as a mentor for you. You seem interested in vandal patrol, which is an area of Wikipedia with which I'm quite experienced, so I could be helpful in teaching you more about it. I've been editing Wikipedia for a long time now, so I can most likely help you with anything else that you're interested in learning, as well. If I can't help you with a particular thing, I definitely can find someone who can. Furthermore, as an administrator, I might be able to help you to learn about things you can do to prepare yourself for someday becoming one. If you're interested in adoption anytime (including now, if you've changed your mind), drop me a note! Best of luck. – GorillaWarfare talk • contribs 19:05, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- Also one last thing -- I noticed your edits at Grey, where you changed almost every instance of the word "colour" to "color". Because this is the English Wikipedia and not the American Wikipedia, we try to respect different varieties of English. Some articles, such as the article on, say, Queen Elizabeth II, are written in British English. Some articles, such as the article on, say, Barack Obama, are written in American English. This makes sense, as Queen Elizabeth II is a famous British person and Barack Obama is a famous American person. However, some articles such as Grey are either in American or British English, and there is no real reason for one over the other. In these cases, the policy is to respect national varieties of English instead of unnecessarily changing from one to another. Cheers! – GorillaWarfare talk • contribs 19:16, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- You left a talkback at my userpage but I don't see a message here. Am I missing something? – GorillaWarfare talk • contribs 19:57, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Slayer2448 2
[edit]Hi Slayer2448. I noticed you created a Requests for Adminship page some time ago; I was wondering as to what the status of that request might be. I think it's fair to warn you that new users are rarely successful at RfA and that the Wikipedia editing community sets very high standards for editors running for adminship. That being said, I strongly urge you to read Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship, User:Davidwr/Administration is not for new users, and Wikipedia:Not now, and ask you to reconsider whether you really do wish to go through with your candidacy; please understand that you stand very little to no chance of passing RfA at this point and that you are strongly discouraged from running for adminship. If you are still intent on running for adminship with that request and are absolutely positive this is what you want, please do let me know; otherwise, I'll go ahead and delete the RfA page for you in about a week or so from today. Eagles 24/7 (C) 23:46, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I'm a little stumped. You see, I thought I since I had encountered much stuff on Wikipedia that administrators seem to deal with, I thought it would be easier to succeed with RfA.
Side Note: I'm wondering if I will have trouble succeeding because other users have thought me to vandalize Wikipedia. Slayer2448 (talk) 14:27, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- Your request for adminship
wasis not "live", if you will.I have fixed that, and it is now listed where other users can see it to !vote at WP:RfA.If you would like to make it live, I'm sure either of us would be willing to help you with that. However, I would also like to echo Eagles247's sentiment that you might consider withdrawing the request. – GorillaWarfare talk • contribs 17:37, 21 February 2011 (UTC)- I don't wish to pressure you at all, but I have to agree with Eagles247 and GorillaWarfare here. Your enthusiasm is great, but people almost never pass RfA these days if they haven't got at least few thousand edits under their belt, with a high proportion of those being on articles. Please keep up the good work - but I really would advise forgetting about adminship for a while. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:03, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- I'd also like to point out that my offer for adoption still stands, if you're interested. (See section above). – GorillaWarfare talk • contribs 18:26, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure whether you have transcluded your RfA by now or not, but I've taken the liberty of leaving you a few words of encouragement on it. Do read them, and do consider GorillaWarfare's kind offer above - in fact you'll probably find that there is a whole bunch of us ready to pester you with all sorts of help and advice - for example, you could start by reading up on WP:DELETION, and WP:NOTABILITY then getting your feet wet at New Page Patroll. Good luck, and happy editing! Kudpung (talk) 18:44, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

RfA
[edit]Have you made a decision in regards to your untranscluded Request for Adminship? Eagles 24/7 (C) 21:35, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
Well I don't exactly know how to transclude it, believe it or not. Please tell me how then delete the page.Slayer~2448 21:37, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- To transclude the RfA at WP:RFA, you would need to follow the instructions at WP:RFA/N. Do you still want me to delete the page? Eagles 24/7 (C) 21:40, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
Yes, please delete the page.Slayer2448 21:42, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- Done By the way, if Slam Dunk94 is an account of yours, I strongly recommend you quit fooling around with another account, as it could lead to sockpuppetry. Eagles 24/7 (C) 21:45, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
Confusion
[edit]Slam Dunk94 is not an account of mine. But if you picked up the same signal from the computer, it might have been a family member of mine. My family members are also active users on Wikipedia. Slayer~2448 09:31, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- I made this connection solely on similarities in editing/grammar style. I also find it quite strange if your family member messages you here without you knowing who they are. In the future, just know that sockpuppetry is a blockable offense on Wikipedia. Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:19, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Why did you send me that message!

Block message:
Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Yanddelkregr". The reason given for Yanddelkregr's block is: "Block evasion: (Aawjgnekr)".
- Blocking administrator: JamesBWatson (talk • blocks)
Decline reason: Same person. Now directly blocked. --jpgordon::==( o ) 16:06, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
Side Note: I cannot believe a possible sock puppet of Aawjgnekr used my server. I am strongly affected by this block. I also need to put a {{talkback}} on Yanddelkregr's talk page. You can comment below this.
Slayer2448 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Please, I'm not a sockpuppet of Aawjgnekr, or Yanddelkregr. No one ever considered me bad. Just because someone used my server does not mean that I am the same person. In fact, I'd tried to help contribute to figuring out sockpuppets of Aawjgnekr, and other users.I've also tried not to be a bad user. I even need help, I regret now not being adopted, which I'll try to have done if I'm unblocked.
Decline reason:
I am declining this request, because it is obvious that you are the one behind the creation of all these sockpuppets, and this is a clear-cut case of the use of good-hand, bad-hand accounts. I warned you about the potential consequences for using sockpuppets, and you will not receive another chance. Eagles 24/7 (C) 22:15, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Side note: I'll probably leave Wikipedia if I'm not unblocked.
- Looks more likely that you'll continue to create sockpuppet accounts, like you did immediately after posting this. --jpgordon::==( o ) 23:05, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
