OR

[edit]

I feel you need to read wP:or wp:v and wp:crime.Slatersteven (talk) 13:41, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Slatersteven My confusion was/is around what is considered WP:OR. Is defining a term used in the article using a WP:RSP source WP:OR if the source for the definition is unrelated to the article. I hadn't considered that there would be disagreement on which definition applied.
Generally, if you're getting the defintion from an an article that has nothing to do with Floyd, there's a risk of WP:OR if most other Floyd sources do not use the same meaning. In this case, looking for the definition outside overlooked the fact that many sources related to Floyd interpretted it as meaning basketball, a popular US sport which Floyd played in college. At any rate, thanks for discussing after your bold edit was reverted. Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 05:56, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Attack on Paul Pelosi. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Please do not add personal interpretations of primary sources. Magnolia677 (talk) 16:22, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My additions to the article are based on the https://www.sfexaminer.com/news/crime/paul-pelosi-911-call-transcript-read-what-he-told-sfpd/article_f4871a50-9e7c-11ed-8e36-abd9e15d159b.html article I cited as a source. Much of the content I added was direct quotations from the article's transcript of the 911 call. NovaCrest5878 (talk) 17:50, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
