Wikipedia
[edit]Yes, wikipedia does have its own rather byzantine nature, you could easily get lost in arcane details of the Manual of Style !
But if you start with the big three ideas about content and the big three ideas about interaction, you have the basics.
article content
- WP:V = must be verifiable as having been previously published
- WP:RS = in a source with a reputation for fact checking and accuracy
- WP:NPOV = and presented in a Neutral Point of View, representing all sides of the scholarship or debate, in proportion that they are held by mainstream academics today.
interaction
- WP:CON = wikipedia works by consensus, attempting to get to a point where all editors involved can live with the solution that meets wikipedia's content requirements
- WP:3R = edit warring will not build such a consensus and so is a blockable offense
- WP:NPA = dont make personal attacks about another person. stay focused on how to make the content meet wikipedia's criteria, and not on the contributor.
So, be WP:BOLD, you cannot break the encyclopedia and if you make a mistake, it can always be undone. -- The Red Pen of Doom 12:22, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

If you decide that the article cannot presently meet our standards, & you do not have time to develop it adequately. you can facilitate matters by placing at the top a line reading : {{db-author}}, and it will be quickly deleted.. When you have the necessary material, then try again. I do not want to discourage you, but to urge you to continue to contribute. If I can help you further, let me know on my user talk page. I'd created a page which could use help and contributions from other people. What's the fastest way to summon those who would like to help develop that page?
- Use the Accio spell :P
- On a more serious note, look for the WIkiProjects under which the page could fall, and ping them for help. That will be the best way to find others, except direct contact.

- Hi. If you are talking about List of The Daily Show episodes (2012), then it would be best to seek help from editors at WP:TV who specializes in dealing with the television series or other forms of episodic programs. WP:TVE is the task force of that wikiproject for the coverage of episode related content. That means you will find editors at there who can help you improve your article.
