Cut and paste moves

Hello, cut and paste moves such as the one you performed with Jacksonville metropolitan area are not the appropriate way to relocated content. One Woman Army

Hi MpQzy,

You appear to have misssed the point with One Woman Army. I've left a detailed explanation to the edits at Talk: One Woman Army. My key points to summarise:

• Thatgrapejuice and Toyazworld and such sites are completely random and unreliable as they post opinions and speculation.
• Neither sources are run by professionals or have any kind of professional endorsement by the music industry.
• The information you are trying to keep in the article is unfounded and actually does harm and damage to the artist by promoting inaccuracies - it just cannot be established that what is being said is true.
• my edits were constructive and in the spirit of wikipedia because of the information left was sourced, verified and accurate - additionally I worked very hard on Basic Instinct and Fantasy Ride as well as numerous other Ciara singles to get them to WP:Good articles and WP:Featured Articles. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 ^[talk] 21:55, 30 July 2012 (UTC)

My edits removed the blogy sources and your reverts added them back. Just now you've gone and undone my edit for no apparent reason even though my edits: improved the language and tone as well as adding more factual information and remove large portions of text which were WP:COPYPASTED. I think you should look up ownership of articles because it sounds like you won't accept anyone else's edits to One Woman Army except your own. If you can clearly explain why my edits DON'T improve the article I will consider not trying to edit the article in that way again. This is not true. I have kept the beginning part of your version because it is better. You use "blogy sources" as well (the same one, in fact). Other parts of your version are opinion and are not fact, especially the last sentence in the first paragraph. Not only that, but there are also grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors. I've copy edited the section, using some of the suggestions from the "Sweat" GA review. But now you need to stop removing and censoring information. Instead of removing stuff consider adding stuff which improves the article, its background etc and try and be supportive towards others. The link you keep posting for Like a Surgeon is a fanmade or one that was decommissioned. As the single was never sent to digital outlets for individual purchase we cannot conclusively say that the cover is official. It was never released by the label nor was it appearing in the radio coverage that billboard gave the single. Sweat

I ask that you please don't change the info box on sweat to single, all songs go online at some point, whether their leaked by the artist or the label. So, it had no release whatsoever, please levee it as a song. Technically, there are no reliable sources confirming that the "Sweat" radio release was cancelled. Songs do get cancelled from iTunes without being cancelled from radio. The song was stilled played on radio as well, making it a promo single. —MPQzy (talk) 16:20, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Having worked on numerous WP:Good articles, and given the distinct lack of information the way the article is currently presented is the best representation of information. I've nominated the article and as soon as its reviewed it should hopefully pass. Please refrain from making sweeping/large changes which essentially push information around the page without adding any benefit. Also some of your edits add unsourced information like "hip-hop". I ask you not to move the information around. Where the information is not detailed this is a good agreed format and presentation for the information. Your edits add no value to the article. It is redundent to have a section for charts which has the table with just one chart. First of all Gerrick Kennedy is a respected reviewer from the LA Times. His comment "And after a revolving door of release dates and a slew of poorly received leaked tracks" is necessary as its a qualified analysis of the failures with Basic Instinct and explains a lot of the background to the lack of support Ciara had from Jive. Also its factual... it is true. Secondly we always attribute years to the album titles in GA articles. According to MTV "I just love to make you sweat in all kinds of ways" is a lyric. You listening to the song and saying otherwise isnt a qualified opinion. Finally if your gonna make changes like this to a WP:Good article you should consult with the person or people who've been contributing most and making the article a GA as it signficantly changes the context of the article. Actually, it's not factual. He's just another reviewer/critic like anyone else. That's his opinion. Years are also not needed, look at Love Sex Magic. Also, Even if MTV says that's a lyric, one just has to listen to the song to know that's not in the song. That's just common sense. You're putting false information in something that is supposed to be factual. Finally, why do I have to ask? Wikipedia tells me to be bold and that's what I'm doing. It is factual ... there were lots of pushbacks and leaks, which is what the source is being used to desctibe. Well since several people have reverted your edits to Ciara pages in the past it would suggest that not everyone agrees with your edits. Its less about ownership... more about editing in a way which is all encompassing and doesn't censor information. You've said yourself your a huge ciara fan but it appears that you're not able to edit the subjects objectively. Also everytime I've edited if you've had an issue with it Ive made an attempt to explain why a its been edited in certain why. Whereas you? No attempts to ever discuss any of your edits. FYI, i've removed the lyrics quote, but I've restored the dates and the LA Times quote because the GA review passed these elements. If you can explain a good reason why they should be removed feel free to on the talk page but since they were part of the article when it was reviewed and the reviewer said it was well written then I don't see a valid reason for removal. Also you've added "Urban" airplay which isn't sourced. Whereas Rhythmic/Crossover (which is one format) is sourced. Sophmore

Specifically from Rap-Up.com it says "Ciara shows us what she’s working with on “Sophomore,” a new track unleashed by DJ Orator." it then goes on to say "R&B siren, who is still recording her Epic Records debut One Woman Army". But it does not say that "Sophmore" was recorded for One Woman Army. Just because the website talks about a new song and references One Woman Army doesn't mean the song is taken from One Woman Army. That is speculating that they will be notable enough. The chances are they won't be as its only in special cases that a non-single gets an article, i.e. "Sweat," where there was a reasonable amount of independent reliable coverage. The idea is that only after that happens do you create pages for every song on an album. What constitutes as notable

You need to review WP:NSONGS for the notability criteria. A song that has not charted or received extensive third-party coverage (meaning coverage aside from the artist/label etc.) is not considered notable. You cannot create an article in expectation of notability. There's less than 4kb of information available. Once a song has more coverage e.g. release dates etc and an actual music video etc. then it is considered notable. We do not list charts as you did, we prefer to list them as the name of the country because many of the links for the chart do not exist and redirect to the chart provider's page. The way of listing them "Name of Country (Provider)" is less misleading. Also Belgium has two charts, Wallonia (for the french speaking part) and Flanders for the Dutch speaking part. Improper page move at Legoland Florida

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Legoland Florida a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Legoland Florida Resort. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
