Thunderbolt.
Hi JalenFolf, The change I made, which you reverted linked to a heavily cited page about the historical Australian figure Captain Thunderbolt often referred to in Australia simply as Thunderbolt. I think your reversion is an error but happy to discus. PSinniSP — Preceding unsigned comment added by PSinniSP (talk • contribs) 05:23, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, this content was already better suited on the page for this individual. Inclusion on the Thunderbolt article falls under WP:TRIVIA. Jalen Folf (talk) 05:31, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
External links removed
Hi,
referring to what you wrote me:
"Hello, I'm JalenFolf. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Vyshnivets Palace because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Jalen Folf (talk) 05:16, 18 November 2021 (UTC)"
I just wonder why those links "seemed inappropriate"? They present aerial videos of separate architectural monuments, showing rather rare views of them, with subtitles in 3 languages. Just wonder what is not right with them, since in Polish and Ukrainian Wikipedia moderators have no problem with them.
All the best,
Bart — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bartoha (talk • contribs) 06:51, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Bartoha. Please go through all the YouTube links you have added in the past month and a half and verify that they have come from verified accounts on YouTube. Per WP:YOUTUBE, copyright is a common issue, and the verified rule is in place to prevent linking to such violations. This does not mean that the specific videos you linked were in violation of YouTube's copyright policy. Jalen Folf (talk) 06:55, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
YouTube requires 100k subscribers to verify account. It is quite unfair, since I doubt that the other external links have 100k subscribers/followers, but they are not removed. I suppose that these contributions (links to YT videos) could be reviewed by someone, who can assess their quality and usefulness in terms of presenting architectural heritage of Poland and Ukraine. As mentioned - they are not removed by moderators of PL and UA Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bartoha (talk • contribs) 07:29, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
Jami Mosque
Hi. I noted your speedy delete request at Jami Mosque. Unfortunately, that is not an appropriate title for one of the many jamia mosques, such as Jamia Mosque, Harar In 2013, I moved Jami Mosque, Toronto from this title, and reestablished it as a general term and redirected it to Jama Masjid with this edit. Jama Masjid has since (in March 2021) been moved to the English term Congregational mosque. Specific "jama mosques", "jami mosques", "jamia mosques", etc. need to be disambiguated in their title. --Bejnar (talk) 15:55, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
Yule Tree
Hi, you removed my page post edit, Why is it wrong in your opinion? what citation do you mean? I believe it Yule should be separated from Christmas tree — Preceding unsigned comment added by Truthfree777 (talk • contribs) 22:37, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- The other issue is that your attempt at an article seemed like an essay. Is there a way that on top of the reliable sources that I'm asking (relevant links are in the message I originally sent to you), would it also be possible to rewrite your attempt in an encyclopedic format? Also, for what reason should it be separated? To most, "Yule" seems synonymous with "Christmas". Jalen Folf (talk) 08:23, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

I posted an answer on srich32977's talk page, but it occurs to me you might not notice that. Please see WP:SDFORMAT, except under unusual circumstances, should be less than 40 characters in length. Beginning...
Hello, JalenFolf,
I'm just a beginner in Wikipedia and may be I don't do everythig perfectly. But why you mention: "All reliable sources from this individual relate to Xalam and only reference this individual in passing"? There are the references that the musician Taffa Cissé was from 1991 to 2012 the percussionist of Jean-Luc Ponty band and is the percussionist on 5 albums from Ponty - as as Life Enigma (2001), Live at Semper Opera (2002) or The Atacama Experience (2007). There are the references that he appears at the album Undercover (of the night) from The Rolling Stones as percussionist, what you also can easyly check on Wikipedia. There are the references that he worked an Deutsche Theatre in Germany and with theatre director Matthias Langhoff at Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. Nothing of this has to do with his band Xalam. As I wrote, I'm new at Wikipedia and if I do mistakes please don't be so rough. Taffa Cissé is (as you may also check at youtube) a percussionist who has a played with many musicians and bands. He ist sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. That's why I ask you to please accept my subbmission. Thanks a lot. http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Draft:Taffa_Ciss%C3%A9 John — Preceding unsigned comment added by JohnOskar (talk • contribs) 01:32, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

Conflict of Interest (QUT Student Guild)
Hi JalenFolf,
I understand I am a very new editor and that these rules of thumb exist for good reason in the community but I think your and other editors implementation of the rule is rigid and unfair. Firstly, there is no evidence that I work for this organisation so it's weird that everyone assumes I do, I am a QUT Student, but the Student Guild exists as a union and advocacy group outside the scope of the university. The QUT Student Guild page is missing LOTS of information, as it is a small student union. Australian student unions are run by volunteers, not employees and students who are in these positions are elected by the student body (so they are not compensated legally as employees).
If you look at a similar Australian student union page (UQ Union), QUT Student Guild is very poorly updated and has even had information removed in the past for the only reason being that there are no links to sources (which there are very few of online because I cannot link to the business page and there are so few publications on the union's existence and history) or the implementation of this "rule" that people assume I may work for or be affiliated with the company. I am trying to slowly learn how to put together a great Wikipedia article while simultaneously contributing to the history and documentation of my university's unionism and culture. If you have any recommendations on how I can continue without people taking down my work every time, I'd really appreciate it.

The tornado outbreak
I added up the tornadoes. The EF3 caused 46,the EF4 caused 468, the EF2 caused 119 and the EF1 caused two. That's 635, right? --104.246.113.199 (talk) 03:33, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia does not accept this kind of original research. Please locate a source that references this total. Jalen Folf (talk) 03:35, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
- Wouldn't it fall under WP:CALC, however? --104.246.113.199 (talk) 03:41, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
- This is correct, however,
In some cases, editors may show their work in a footnote.
For example: There were also 635 injuries.{{efn|All injuries occurred from tornadoes on December 26; 46 from an EF3, 468 from an EF4, 119 from an EF2, and two from an EF1.}}

Article "Imanu" and excessive citation
Hey and thanks for your contributions to the article Imanu. I wrote the paragraph which you marked as excessively cited. The information contained in the paragraph is derived from different sources, so what's the preferred way of citing then? Arjab (talk) 17:09, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- Arjab, I will provide two guidelines/essays for assistance with this, with the latter being a solution for the former. The first is WP:CITEOVERKILL itself, which advises not to use more than three sources for one statement. An easy way to take care of this specific case, given it's in the lead, falls under WP:LEADCITE:
Because the lead will usually repeat information that is in the body, editors should balance the desire to avoid redundant citations in the lead with the desire to aid readers in locating sources for challengeable material.
In other words, if a source is already cited in the body of the article, there's generally no point in using it again in the lead section. Hope this helps. Jalen Folf (talk) 19:14, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar - Asian Qualification - 3rd round
Hello, JalenFolf. I'm ksw6813.I could tell who the referee was in the match between the United Arab Emirates and Syria. It was exposed by Facebook account of Syria Football Association. (Link: https://www.facebook.com/syrianfa/photos/a.393065650828055/2446552038812729/) -> Referee of this match is 'Ilgiz Tantashev(UZB)'

Landon Tewers
Good day Jalen! Is there a reason why Landon Tewers was unilaterally moved to draft space without keeping the article history? --Jax 0677 (talk) 17:17, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- Jax 0677, I was hoping to give Stefanglp a chance to work on their article attempt in draftspace without interruption. When I moved it, the revision at the time did not have enough sources or evidence of passing notability guidelines. At this time, I am unopposed to restoring the previous redirect history to mainspace, provided such a histmerge is possible (I am aware of the possibility of WP:PARALLEL). Jalen Folf (talk) 18:44, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

- Jax 0677, I am not opposed to this. I’m sure if Stefan does come back, we can try to request a histsplit. Jalen Folf (talk) 00:51, 24 January 2022 (UTC)

Queer Screen page reversion
Hi there, could you explain why you undid the changes I made? They took a very long time to collate, and are not all listed on the page being redirected to. Queer Screen is an organisation that exists and runs Mardi Gras Film Festival, as well as many other things, so it doesn't make sense for the Wikipedia page to redirect there when it is just a facet of what they do. I'd appreciate it if you (or I) could undo that change please. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SA222F (talk • contribs) 04:24, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- Please see WP:NCORP. Your version of the article did not have any reliable sources to establish this notability criteria. A majority of the sources were direct from Queer Screen themselves. May I suggest instead writing a draft at Draft:Queer Screen to avoid interruption? Once you're done with the draft, you may submit through Articles for creation. If you have any further questions about article creation, you may seek help at the teahouse. Jalen Folf (talk) 04:50, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
Eric Ash
I just had made a minor change to Eric Ash's page but you reverted it. I only had added another one of his students (Mehrdad Nikoonahad), who also happens to be on Wikipedia and he was directly referenced. This is the first time I am using this type of messaging and I hope this reaches you well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Writingking (talk • contribs) 04:07, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for your efforts, Writingking. Your edit also included removal of a valid reference for another student of Ash, hence the reversion. You are free to re-add the content, but please be careful with your edits. Jalen Folf (talk) 04:10, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for your quick reply. I understand what you say. Regarding the other student of Ash, I removed the other obscure reference and directly referenced his (the other student) to his Wikipedia page. I thought it was must cleaner that way. Please see if you like it now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Writingking (talk • contribs) 04:47, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

Redirect removed | Alter Echo (album)
Hi JalenFolf :) - I've removed the "Redirect" on the page Alter Echo (album) you had given it earlier, due to lack of credible source material (correctly so, I might add *thumbs up*). I've now linked the page to sources like Allmusic.com, Discogs.com, and Apple Music for verification, and added a couple of reviews made by credible media outlets. I hope it is sufficient to keep the entry floating for now, but I strongly encourage anyone with more information, interviews, and references in general to contribute to it. Also some chart listings would be nice, although I have no idea myself where to find such listings. Let me know, if you think we need to do more to the article right away. WP:AFC Helper News
Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.
- AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
- The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.
Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Reverting Fylfot
Hi Jalen! As I stated in the comment, "Swastika is a symbol of auspiciousness and good luck, a symbol with an equilateral cross, with four (or a multiple of four) arms bent at 90 degrees. Fylfot is not at all related to Swastika, it’s a Greek cross. — called also crux gammata, gammate cross.”, it’s incorrect to link “Swastika” with “Fylfot”, both shouldn’t match. Hence, removing the link makes more sense.

Regarding Roblox x Zootopia
The Zootopia sponsored event on Roblox was officially licensed by Disney, similarly to Epic Games’ tie-ins with the company with Fortnite also, hence why I included it onto the draft for Nick Wilde. Here is a blog post as well as some gameplay and the character model uploaded onto the site: Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlW5_9NCsbc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHLsOwzkbVk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBR9ohNb2P8
Alright so right now I’m unable to access the Roblox website but when I do tomorrow I will be sure to send you links to the library model and blog post.
Additionally there was also a small Poptropica promo for the film in 2016 for that game as well. SlySabre (talk) 05:41, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- I also forgot to mention Club Penguin, but Roblox and Poptropica were the two ones not to be owned by Disney rather instead they just licensed the IPs, trademarks and copyrights instead. SlySabre (talk) 05:44, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- SlySabre, Yes, I am well aware of this. I only found your draft from a quick search of "Draft:Roblox", as at the time of my edit, the game was mentioned in your draft. While I do wish you the best of luck on the draft, I don't find it appropriate to include promotional appearances. Thanks for trying to inform me though. Jalen Folf (talk) 05:46, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
- I found the Roblox Blog post: (add blog.[insert word Roblox here then .com])/2016/02/welcome-to-the-jungle/
- I’ll find Nick’s character model on the site tomorrow, but somebody did re-upload it onto the Models Resource site: https://www.models-resource.com/pc_computer/roblox/model/16324/
- With that being said I’ll be sure to add other games such as Disney Heroes: Battle Mode and go into a little bit more detail in the appearances in video games. Anyways links to Roblox are blacklisted on Wikipedia so I think I will not be including the references to his appearances in Roblox or Poptropica per your suggestion. Edits reverted
Hi, apologies if I have caused any annoyance with the edits I contributed. My reason for editing that page was to make it easier to scrap the city links via the “wikitable sortable” class tab. I am using it to build a dataset for a university project. Can you advise me on how I can edit the page in a more useful manner. I could add the populations of the cities if that would be preferred?
Thank you, James Jamescwells (talk) 22:23, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Jamescwells: While your edits might have been reverted, your edits are still visible in the page history for your retrieval and use off-site, if you still need this for a project. Any missing data, should tables be restored, can be obtained from census data, which is the common source for any population data listed on each city's Wikipedia article. However, if you're still intent on adding this information to the specific page yourself (note, this is referring to List of towns and cities with 100,000 or more inhabitants/country: T-U-V-W-Y-Z), good luck. With how much is missing, such a task might take a long time, and dependent on your assignment's deadline, might not be worth it. Jalen Folf (talk) 05:35, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

- Hi Smhn2012. In my reversion, I've linked two helpful links that relate to your issue. The first was WP:RS, our policy that all claims must be backed by sources proven to be reliable. The other is WP:REFB, as I noticed your method of sourcing is not in line with how we usually cite sources in articles. I will also add two more guideline and policy pages in this message. The first is WP:BLP; as the subject you are writing about is a living person, all claims must be sourced! And the other is WP:GNG; your attempt did not seem to demonstrate which guideline Porter passes. At this point, I highly advise writing and maintaining a draft at Draft:Kevin T. Porter and submitting through our Articles for creation process. Jalen Folf (talk) 17:45, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

Me again
Hi!
You may have forgotten about me already—which is OK of course—but I'm wondering how I move pages. The Russian Central Committee articles seem to be titled wrongly.. For instance the article is titled "Central Committee elected by the 10th Congress of the Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks)" but official terminology was "Central Committee of the 10th Congress of the Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks)" and "Central Committee elected by the 7th Conference of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (Bolsheviks)" should be "Central Committee of the 7th Conference of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (Bolsheviks)" .. It would also reduce the title length, which I think would make the articles more accessible to readers.
Do you agree? If so how do I go about implementing this?--TheUzbek (talk) 11:06, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

In light of what’s been said about me at ANI, it is apparent that I can no longer edit safely on the English Wikipedia. You guys do what you want about my fate; I don’t want to be a part of this community anymore. Jalen Folf (talk) 16:29, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
- Um, one anon editor who has been editing in Wikipedia for a total of one day made a comment directed at you in ANI and you leave Wikipedia because of it? I really wouldn't be too hasty like that. Wait for the admins to actually review the complaint. In the meantime, I'm going to hat your proposal against yourself in ANI. Singularity42 (talk) 16:59, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
- Well, apparently, administration are not acting fast enough. Good bye and good riddance... Jalen Folf (talk) 19:38, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
- Why would administration act against you in response to baseless accusations from an anonymous IP? -- ferret (talk) 19:52, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
- You are correct; though the IP's accusations do appear to be baseless, I have a feeling that part of what they're saying is right. Though I am well aware that the right thing to do in this situation is to improve myself, and despite my initial promises to never again edit the page they're harassing me over, the IP has also ratted out my lack of enthusiasm for editing on Wikipedia in general. I no longer feel comfortable editing on the encyclopedia, and it's not only because of that user's words. I applaud you for trying to advise me on the matter, but sadly with how my habits have been going, I do not believe it's going to help. Still, I am proud of my other achievements on this encyclopedia, and have a positive approach in seeing how this community can continue without me.
- It was fun while it lasted, but all good things must come to an end. I do hope our paths cross again in the future. Jalen Folf (talk) 20:51, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
- I'm confused about this decision. You've been editing regularly for years, you're a respected contributor - what is it that makes you feel uncomfortable editing? Do what's right for you, of course, but I hope you don't feel you need to leave because someone has criticised a decision you made - even if on retrospect you think it was a mistake, that's OK, we're all allowed to make them. Girth Summit (blether) 22:23, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
- I've advised you for quite a long time. Girth has the right of it. We all make iffy edits now and then. If you aren't interested or enthusiastic about editing right now, by all means, take a break. If you had widespread issues in your editing, you know myself or other experienced editors would have commented on it. This is but one conflict with an IP who created an article and was unhappy with how the process went. I only glanced quickly, but my understanding is you moved it to draft, where it was subsequently declined at least once by someone else, so it would seem your action was not unfounded. -- ferret (talk) 23:20, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for the support and advice, but my mental health is already too low for me to consider returning at this time. A failure to take action on the ANI thread, regardless of who it would be against, which now I cannot think about where I can take the thread without breaking civility policies, combined with the recent attack by Glam-girlz on this very Talk page, has left me with no choice but to stay off this encyclopedia indefinitely.
- At this point, I don’t care what happens to the original IP I reported in that thread, given the user behind it hasn’t edited from it since my report. Jalen Folf (talk) 17:51, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
- Fair enough; you certainly seem as if you could use a break. Take one, as long as you need! What you're doing right now, though: posting "I no longer feel safe here, goodbye forever!", then checking both here and the ANI thread, waiting for the next comment, then posting, "I no longer feel safe here, goodbye forever!", twice a day? This can't be doing you much good. Ravenswing 11:32, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

- Jalen, to be clear as you've made two notes that you're still waiting on action in regards to ANI. Action is probably not going to happen. If either of those cases were critical or in need of action, it would have already happened. Punitive action against those IPs simply isn't going to happen, while on the other hand, the LTA attacks on you have been shiftly and immediately dealt with. -- ferret (talk) 13:10, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Request of Restraint from reverting edits
Please restrain yourself from rescinding my appropriate edits from Kristin Bahner's Wikipedia page. I am on her staff and am up against a deadline. I kindly ask that you not reset the page to its prior form. It is a lot of work to have suddenly thrown out the window. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dang427 (talk • contribs) 01:06, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
