Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Diesel locomotive into Draft:Diesel-electric Locomotive. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 16:32, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Page moves

[edit]

Hello, I Am Andumé,

Your recent page moves have all been reverted so please do not continue on with page moves until you have sorted out why they are being contested. Perhaps contact the editor(s) who reverted them or discuss possible page moves first on the article talk pages. But move-warring is as serious as edit-warring on Wikipedia so please do not revert the revert of your original page moves.

If you have questions about editing on Wikipedia or policy surrounding page moving, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 18:36, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for notifying me! Andumé (talk) 19:33, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Bulbophyllum sect. Codonosiphon stubs indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 05:30, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can you fix this?

[edit]

I'm very excited that you created/found a tool to update the tables on Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/To do... but when I clicked on "Update now!" I got this message: "Couldn't find any transclusions of {{Database report}} on the page Wikipedia:WikiProject_Stub_sorting/To_do :(" Is this a problem on my end (Firefox, Mac OS) or on the toolforge end? Thanks for checking - Her Pegship (?) 01:42, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Pegship: You have to click the update button on this page as the "To do" page only transcludes that page. However, it should update the table every week automatically (I can set it to update more frequently if you want). You might have to purge the cache on the "To do" page for the update to actually show up there. Hope this helped! Andumé (talk) 03:39, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like an admin to change the content model of Talk:Elon Musk/FAQ/styles.css to sanitized-css, so it can be used for TemplateStyles.

I noticed you have already posted on this user's Talk page about conflict of interest and using imdb as a reliable source. I have also mentioned this but they are disregarding it. Rodericksilly (talk) 17:07, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think they may need another Talk page message with this as they aren't getting the message. Rodericksilly (talk) 14:58, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Rodericksilly: I've removed the unsourced statement for now and added another warning to her talk page. If the behavior continues, maybe try reporting her at WP:COIN. Andumé (talk) 21:08, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have restored to your edit. They keep adding imdb despite being repeatedly told that is not used a reliable source. They have also attempted to add Freeway as a source for what they are adding - I don't know whether that meets reliable source requirements or not. But they don't seem to want to respond to your comments on the talk page. Rodericksilly (talk) 17:14, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
