Thanks for your contributions to Structure of the Slovenian Armed Forces. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. microbiologyMarcus (petri dishgrowths) 14:17, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@MicrobiologyMarcus: Hi, thank you for the message. The article you are pointing to isn't my contribution but rather a migration of text from Slovenian Armed Forces as the text was way too long for that article and needed to be split. It was originally written back in 2013 with no sources cited at the time. Given the circumstances, what can you advise me? — GeographieMan[~MSG~] 14:29, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's a tough one. The page should have been split by following the policy at WP:PROPERSPLIT, specifically the edit summary to provide attribution and to let reviewers like me know that this was coming from a different place, not new material cut from whole cloth. Personally, I think because it was unsourced, it should have just been challenged and removed. However, the policy of WP:DRAFTIFY says that if anyone objects to it, it should be returned to the mainspace. So it's up to you:
  1. You (or anyone else) can let me know you'd rather this stay on the mainspace (or put it back themselves), in which case it will go for an AfD deletion discussion where other editors can weigh in on whether or not it should stay or be deleted (or other options such as re-merge); or
  2. If you don't object to the draftification because you also feel like it doesn't belong on mainspace, it can be left in draft space, knowing that articles which don't receive any attention in the draftspace after 6 months will eventually get procedurally deleted (but can easily be recovered by requesting from an admin).
Unfortunately, this is a tough one because, like you said, no one has bothered to reference the material in some time.
If you would rather it be back on the main article, you could undo the removal (by reverting to a previous version, I would not suggest you manually add it back yourself because then another editor might mistake you for being the one to add it unsourced). But the same problem arises, there is a lot of unsourced and unnecessary material on the mainspace that another editor may just as well come along and challenge and delete as unsourced. Personally, I agree, it doesn't belong on that article, it is way too long and unnecessary, and doesn't have any citations. But at that time, you could start a discussion on the article's talk page so as to gather consensus about what to do with the content. I say that because I didn't see anything about the current solution at Talk:Slovenian Armed Forces.
Let me know, I'd be happy to help you with any of the options you'd like to do moving forward. Cheers, microbiologyMarcus (petri dishgrowths) 15:05, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MicrobiologyMarcus: Hello, it has been a while, but today I've finally managed to complete the draft. Could you please take a look? — GeographieMan[~MSG~] 11:23, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
