Barnstar!

[edit]
The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
You really deserve this barnstar for all your excellent around the clock work on the Casualty and Holby City articles, namingly Casualty (series 30) as well as your contributions with Forsaking All Others - Part Two and Casualty (series 31)! Keep up the good work! Soaper1234 (talk) 20:23, 29 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Casualty (series 31)

[edit]

That's fine with me. :) - JuneGloom07 Talk 22:01, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@JuneGloom07: Thank goodness! :D ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 22:21, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Electrode, hope you are well. I was wondering if I would be able to collaborate with you on your List of Casualty characters sandbox. I feel I have a lot to give it to the article and would love a role in revamping the article as I currently (try to) keep maintained. I have also been researching featured character lists in order to achieve a featured list status for List of Casualty characters. If you would prefer to revamp the article alone, I have also no problem with that. Soaper1234 (talk) 16:40, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, @Soaper1234: I'm good thank you, hope you are doing well too. Please, be my guest! You do an awful lot at the moment for the List of Casualty characters article (apologies I don't do much on that article - I find in its current state it is very difficult to keep tidy, that's why I want to try ad find a way to update it, as I'd feel more inclined to keep it tidy and to a featured list!) and I think you would easily be able to help, it would make the redesign much quicker too. Thank you for offering, feel free to change anything you feel needs to be changed. I also think that the article could possibly do with images of some of the cast, not sure about your thoughts on that? If you could do that, I would be so grateful! I would do it, but I don't actually know how to add free images. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 20:21, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm really glad to hear that. Don't worry about it, all I do on the article anyway is revert any vandalism and move/add impending changes as and when they come to my attention. When the draft is complete as a featured list, I would prefer that the protection on the article was upgraded as IPs only have to sign up which they do at the moment. I think images of cast worked really well in the List of Holby City characters article and they'd be a great add to the Casualty article. Thank you so much for allowing me to collaborate with you on this project and I hope we can make it work. Soaper1234 (talk) 06:27, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's no problem at all, Soaper1234! I agree with you definitely, once the article has become a featured list, I would also prefer an upgrade of protection – the article comes under scrutiny quite a lot I find. I really like the cast photos in the Holby article too, I think the Casualty article has great potential to become a featured list. All the best! Favour!

[edit]

Hi Electrode, hope you are well! A Merry Christmas to you and all my best for 2017! If you get a minute or two, could you look through my draft for the Alicia Munroe article? Thanks Soaper1234 (talk) 10:14, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, Soaper1234, I'm good thank you, how have you been? Merry Christmas to you too, and I hope you have a super New Year. I'll take a look at the article now, and give feedback to you on here as soon as I have read it. All the best, ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 10:57, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Electrode! I'm well, thanks. I really appreciate it! Soaper1234 (talk) 11:11, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: All done! Made a few minor adds (the links in the Reception section to media outlets) just in case readers would like to read up on the media outlet. Only other change I made was re-linking Martin "Ash" Ashford to Characters of Casualty as the original link sent you to Home and Away characters (2014). You made the other edit (reordering the references) before I got there, good job! I've completely scoured the article for spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and links leading to the wrong place and found none (corrected the Ash link, but that was a very minor edit, so no worries there). Also checked every reference and I'm satisfied that you've referenced everything accurately. Great job on the article, it flows well and made a good read, definitely was not a waste of my time. Without hesitation I'd say you can move article to the mainspace. It's easy to tell you took great care in producing the article and spent time reading over it afterwards, wonderful job! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 11:49, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Electrode, that is so lovely of you to say! Oops, I didn't realise Martin "Ash" Ashford redirected to Home and Away! Thanks for that! I've also asked JuneGloom07 to look through as well, but I'm hoping to have it moved by the end of the year! Thanks again, I really appreciate your kind words! Soaper1234 (talk) 11:57, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Casualty (series 30)

[edit]

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Casualty (series 30) you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Shearonink -- Shearonink (talk) 18:01, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ElectrodeandtheAnode, hope you are well. I just wanted to thank you for your dedication in making sure the Casualty (series 30) article is promoted to a GA. Your continued effort hasn't gone unnoticed and I haven't been able to dedicate as much of my time to it as I would've liked so thank you. Soaper1234 (talk) 22:59, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again, Soaper1234, thank you! It is honestly no problem at all that you have not been able to dedicate as much time as you would like to, I know how busy people can be in real life. Once again, thank you for the message. :) ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 07:33, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback

[edit]
Hello, ElectrodeandtheAnode. You have new messages at Talk:Casualty (series 30)/GA1.
Message added 03:50, 29 March 2017 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

I finished going through all the Episode Summaries and gave the adjustments that I think need to be made. As soon as the Summaries are adjusted I will consider WP:GA Criteria 1A(Prose) to be fulfilled and I think I will be able to finish up the Review shortly. Shearonink (talk) 03:50, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations, it's a...
...Wikipedia Good Article!! Shearonink (talk) 16:38, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I placed the article in this WP:GA section Other episodes and related articles. If you think it should be in a different section, please feel free to move it. Shearonink (talk) 16:45, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Shearonink: Thank you very much for putting so much time and effort into the article and helping us get the article to GA status. You have been incredibly helpful, thank you. All the best! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 06:50, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Casualty (series 30)

[edit]

The article Casualty (series 30) you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Casualty (series 30) for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Shearonink -- Shearonink (talk) 17:02, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you do decide to nominate the article for a DYK as it would be a great opportunity for you and the article! Soaper1234 (talk) 17:53, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much Soaper1234, and thank you also for the help you put into bringing the article up to GA status! I think I might begin working on the Series 29 article in the near future and see if we can get that article up to GA as well. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 06:53, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
What a brilliant idea! Would you mind if collaborated with you on this project? I'm approaching the end of my current project and despite many background projects, I'm looking for something to get stuck into, however I would completely understand if you want to work on this alone. Soaper1234 (talk) 21:47, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: be my guest; in case you have not seen it already, I have set-up the start of Series 29 in my sandbox, just begin editing when you are ready. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 17:46, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, it is really appreciated. I hope to properly contribute to this one after my lack of contribution to the series 30 article improvements. Soaper1234 (talk) 20:04, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It is no problem, Soaper1234. It doesn't matter how great nor how minor your contributions were to the Series 30 article, because you still took time out of your day and put effort into helping promote the article, and for that I am very grateful. One of my main personal issues for both articles at the moment [still] is what feels like citation overkill. It is going to be incredibly difficult to try and overcome this issue I think but hopefully we can use the reference bundling strategy and maybe reconsider a few references to try and make paragraph citations a little less clustered, if you get what I mean? I am going to look at rewriting all the episode summaries for Series 29 too, using the Series 30 summaries I rewrote as a template to ensure that, when a GA reviewer comes to review the Series 29 article, we can hopefully pass it with flying colours in a much shorter space of time than the Series 30 article did. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 20:16, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes definitely, the review was a real eye opener. I have to admit I'm rubbish with episode summaries so I hope you don't mind me leaving that to you. I wouldn't worry about the series 30 article now it is a GA. As long as its on your watchlist, like it is mine, then we can avoid it being taken over by vandalism etc. Soaper1234 (talk) 20:25, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It was indeed. No problem at all - oh and I haven't abandoned the Series 31 episode summaries, just throwing that out there(!), I have been busy every weekend since 4 February, and have not physically been able to find the time to watch them all! Hopefully I will be able to catch-up over the next few weeks and be able to write a few summaries. Series 30 will definitely be staying on my watchlist for a long time to come, hopefully we will not have any vandals though. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 20:41, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, no problem at all! We all have busy lifestyles and that can get in the way so don't rush! Soaper1234 (talk) 21:28, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Oh also thank you for dealing with the vandalism on the List of Casualty characters page. I have left the necessary warning on a user's talk page, hopefully they will take the warning on board and begin constructively contributing to the article from now on. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 22:41, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That particular user has been vandalising the page for a long time, but I never know which template to warn them with. They should really be blocked by now so thank you for adding a warning to them. Soaper1234 (talk) 23:03, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I used the vandalism template, as that is effectively how the user is contributing to the article. I will keep an eye out on the user's editing in future and, if necessary, add further warnings. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 11:55, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help!

[edit]

Hi ElectrodeandtheAnode, hope you are well! I was hoping you would be able to help me out with a draft I am creating; it is an article called "Hello, I Must Be Going" about the Casualty episode featuring Elle's arrival and Zoe's exit. You see, my main issue is the plot. I am no good at creating plots so I have cheekily taken the one from the series 30 article and added links. I was hoping, should you find the time and wouldn't mind, would you be able to create a proper plot? Also, feel free to edit anything in the draft as it all helps :) Soaper1234 (talk) 22:04, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Soaper1234, I am keeping well thank you, how about you? I will happily take a look at writing a proper plot for the article. I will do it when I get a bit of free time over the week. The article is looking good at the moment from what I have read. Keep up the good work! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 16:03, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Electrode, that is really helpful! I'm well, thank you. Soaper1234 (talk) 16:04, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Too Old for This Shift

@Soaper1234: fantastic - thank you for letting me know. I will keep an eye on the comments and suggestions made to improve the article, and look forward to seeing the progress made over the coming weeks, and hopefully seeing the article achieve GA status. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 09:31, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for everything Electrode! I'm really happy with the finished product. Soaper1234 - talk 19:34, 22 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Soaper1234: We did it – another Good Article! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 20:40, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Brilliant news! Would you mind if I placed the article up for DYK? Soaper1234 - talk 08:46, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Also, with the GA status of three Casualty articles, we now have a category on the GA! Soaper1234 - talk 08:54, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: please, go ahead and place the article up for DYK! Woohoo - fantastic news! I am so glad our hard work is paying off. I am going to work hard on the HolbyBlue article now, and hopefully that will become a GA soon. After that, I will start working on Casualty (series 28). I want to focus on promoting a few more Holby City articles too - so much to do still! It is rewarding though to know that our hard work has now contributed the promotion of three articles - I look forward us hopefully being able to promote more in the near future. (P.S - congratulations on getting Babe Smith promoted to GA too - I absolutely loved Babe in EastEnders, her exit scene was exceptional, I love that frankly evil and manipulative woman.) ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 11:52, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I already have a hook in mind. I've seen some of your HolbyBlue work already and it is looking good. There is such a big, long list of tasks to been done and we could actually do with updating the to do list to reflect the new list. Exactly, the work is so rewarding and it is brilliant to be able to promote these articles. And thank you, that is an article I am proud of and I'm incredibly grateful to AnemoneProjectors for all his work on the article to help it achieve GA. Onwards and upwards! Soaper1234 - talk 14:08, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Also, it has come to my attention that you haven't registered yourself as a participant of the Holby task force! I'd very much suggest getting yourself on the list of participants! :P Soaper1234 - talk 15:32, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Too Old for This Shift

[edit]

On 22 June 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Too Old for This Shift, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Casualty producers worked with the Association of Air Ambulances for over half a year on the special episode "Too Old for This Shift"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Too Old for This Shift. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Too Old for This Shift), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

DYK for Casualty (series 29)

[edit]

On 16 July 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Casualty (series 29), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the BBC medical drama series Casualty received criticism for a series 29 episode which featured a crash that viewers believed resembled the 2014 Glasgow bin lorry crash? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Casualty (series 29). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Casualty (series 29)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Casualty (series 32)

[edit]

Hi Electrode, hope you are well. I have noticed you working on an article for series 32 and saw you had the first episode as 2 September 2017 from actress Skye Hallam's Facebook page. I have done a bit of digging on the actress and found she is in episode 3 of the series, presumably broadcast on 2/9, as a character called Maxine rather than episode 1. Just thought you may find this information useful for the article as it provides a source for episode 3 and reveals the series begins in August 2017. Here is the source, which also states James Larkin is director. Thank you, Soaper1234 - talk 22:34, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why thank you for the correction, Soaper1234. I did think September was a little late for Series 32, if we were to go inline with previous series - that makes much more sense now. Thank you for the correction, and please do feel free to edit the article accordingly if you feel it is factually inaccurate anywhere else/there are details which could do with adding that I have missed. All the best, ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 07:04, 17 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know that another editor has created an article for the series :) Soaper1234 - talk 12:12, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Soaper1234: Yes, I've seen, so what do I do about the one I was working on? ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 13:52, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
My advice is to move what you have to the new article. From there, we should make sure it meets WP:GNG and is suitable. Soaper1234 - talk 14:26, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I really hope you do not mind Electrode, but I have updated/expanded the series 32 article. I used the colour you chose for the article and added your sentence about Sam's return, but everything else was purely my work as to not copy all your own work. Hope this is ok, Soaper1234 - talk 16:42, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It is fine; it was a job that would have needed doing anyway, Soaper1234. To be honest I am irritated that I wasted my time working on that userpage article, I shouldn't have been so naïve, of course another eager editor was going to go ahead and create a weakly sourced, stub-class article. I'll request my userpage for deletion, there is no point in me bothering working on it anymore. I do have one question though: how come all the cast has been added, unsourced? I've done a bit of referencing in my latest edit, but as Episode One of Series 32 has not aired yet, although it may "seem obvious" who is returning, there is no source to back it up... so technically each character should have [citation needed] next to it, should it not? ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 17:40, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I completely understand what you mean - it can be incredibly frustrating. At least we can continue to improve it loads in mainspace. I was wondering whether following the end of the series, you wanted to work on a series 31 article GAN? RE: Unsourced cast - I didn't really know what to do with that if I'm honest - I thought for now I'd leave it like that presuming nobody will make unannounced, off-screen exits although you are correct, it should have an unsourced notice next to it. Again, thank you for being understanding and I hope we can continue making the article better! Soaper1234 - talk 20:47, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looking through the Casualty (series 31) article, I actually think it looks virtually ready for a GAN. I will give it a thorough look through soon to ensure it flows well and there are no spelling errors etc., but I cannot see any glaringly obvious problems with the article − it follows the previous two GAs, so I am confident it will pass first time. Unsourced cast: I am going to put an unsourced tag next to each and every character for now, only because we do not know that every character is returning. For example, Noel was not in the one-shot episode last night, the audience were even told he called in sick, so how do we know he has not made a low-key exit there? We will most definitely continue to improve the article. I will be absent for a few weeks from editing from 13 August, so please do keep a close eye on the Series 32 article and deal the IPs! I will write up/amend any episode summaries when I return. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 21:27, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well that sounds brilliant. I'm sure we can touch it up here and there and add some reception from "One". That is a very good point actually and I will be keeping on an eye on the article naturally! Enjoy what I presume is a holiday! Soaper1234 - talk 22:12, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!

[edit]

Hi Electrode, hope you are well and enjoyed your holiday! I just wanted to pop by and thank you for the MASSIVE clean up on the series 32 article. My plan was to keep it clean in your absence, but I totally lost focus so your help came at an ideal time. Thanks again, Soaper1234 - talk 14:54, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, Soaper1234! I had a lovely holiday thank you – two weeks of sunshine and pure bliss! I hope you are having a nice holiday too, I saw you put on your user page that you are away. It is no problem, the article was kept pretty spotless for those two weeks I thought! Thank goodness you were around to help keep things in order though, I see the IP and nuisance editors returned while I was away, so thank you very much for sorting that out. I hope you enjoy the remainder of your holiday, and I look forward to continuing to work with you on the series 32 article and other articles too. All the best! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 16:31, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to hear you enjoyed your time away. My holiday was also bliss - very enjoyable! I've just cleaned up the List of Holby City characters article - I cannot believe how much vandalism has happened there! I will be keeping a much closer eye on that! As you mention working on more projects, I was wondering whether you would be able to create a plot for my "One" draft? I'm thinking about hopefully taking it to WP:GAN some day and would want an up-to-scratch plot section, which you constantly are able to provide. Of course, I would place your name on the GAN alongside mine so that your work would be identifiable. However, if you would prefer not to, I would completely understand. Thank you and all the best, Soaper1234 - talk 14:52, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: I'm glad to hear you had an enjoyable holiday too! Oh wow, I have not looked at the List of Holby City characters article in a long time, I will put it on my watchlist, two watchers are better than one! I would be more than happy to write a plot for your "One" draft. I have had a quick look at your article and it is looking exceptional, such a wealth of information! By the way: for the ratings section – 28-days later the rating rose by 300,000 viewers, to 6.57 million viewers. All the best! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 19:12, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I can't blame you, both character articles can be often overlooked so thank you for adding it! I am concerned by the amount of information in the article and whether it should be condensed again? Thank you for agreeing to write the plot, your help is so very appreciated! Thank you, if you had not mentioned that, I would have most likely forgotten to check them! Thanks again, Soaper1234 - talk 20:25, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm currently drumming up an improved version of Holby City (series 18). So far, I have created the cast section, which cropped up the issue of the cast lists and how messy they can be - something I know you are looking to improve as well. I have created a possible format, which would have to be rolled out on all Holby City series and Casualty series articles, at User:Soaper1234/GA. If you wouldn't mind, could you take a look over the format, see what you think and let me know? Thank you, Soaper1234 - talk 13:36, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, Soaper1234! I do apologise, I thought I had replied to your last message on my talk page but it appears I had not. I think the "One" article could easily reach Good Article status with the current wealth of information embedded in the article, so I wouldn't be too concerned about there being too much information. If you do feel it could do with condensing however, go ahead and condense it. I think the cast list at User:Soaper1234/GA looks SO much better than the current cast lists used in articles. Without hesitation I would be more than happy to see all Casualty and Holby City articles use your proposed format as opposed to the current listing of the character, their roles/wards etc.... Fantastic work, I really, really like it! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 14:18, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Oh don't worry - that is no problem! Thank you for your advice. I think I shall leave it as it is and add a lead soon. Thank you for your feedback for the cast lists - I looked series articles from US programmes such as Grey's Anatomy and Friends and took inspiration from that. I think I shall go with that format and update all cast lists now then. Thanks again, Soaper1234 - talk 14:23, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Following your advice, I have added the new format to all Holby and Casualty series articles. If you get a moment, please let me know your thoughts :) Soaper1234 - talk 08:52, 17 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again, Soaper1234, I do hope you are keeping well. Yes, I have just seen, it all looks excellent! I just want to personally say a huge thank you for taking the time to do this to all the articles, I understand how time consuming it can be. The only question I would like to ask is: is it all the columns (Main/Recurring/Guest) that are being alphabetised in order of surname, or just the Main Characters? I only ask because I have noticed the Recurring Characters column in the Series 32 has not been alphabetised, so I was just wondering how, for future reference when new characters are added, where we put them? Again many thanks for all your hard work, it is greatly appreciated! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 06:57, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, that's my mistake - it is meant to be alphabetised by surname. I'll sort that out now. I've had some issues with IPs reverting the changes - if you spot any of this, would you mind reverting the changes please? Should the new format be reverted again, I'm going to create a discussion at WP:HOLBY. Thanks for your help, Soaper1234 - talk 07:29, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, of course I can! I will also keep an eye on the discussion post too. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 07:13, 19 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

HolbyBlue DYK

[edit]

Hi Electrode, hope you are well. Your current work across the HolbyBlue side of WP:HOLBY looks fantastic. What a great achievement to get a main page up to GA standard! I was wondering whether you would be nominating HolbyBlue for Did you know nomination? I thought I would let you know that should you opt to do this, today is the last day in which you can do this. Thank you, Soaper1234 - talk 13:01, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Soaper1234:, thank you! I am thrilled I was able to get the article promoted to GA standard, this really has been the year for promoting articles in the Holbyverse! I am working on getting the List of HolbyBlue episodes promoted to a featured list now. With regards to DYKs, I have never really considered them! What exactly would I need to do in order to nominate the article for a DYK? ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 13:08, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It has been such a great year for the Holbyverse and I credit you for a lot of these achievements! I noticed this and hoped you were planning to promote it to FL - what an excellent idea! A DYK is a great achievement for yourself and the article. It features on the Main Page so promotes the article to a wider audience, increasing page views. Coincidentally, a Holbyverse article − Tina Seabrook − features in the DYK section of the Main Page today so it would be worth having a look at that. For more information on DYKs and the criteria, check out WP:DYK and for any Holbyverse examples, have a look at WP:HOLBY. To nominate HolbyBlue, go to WP:DYKN and follow the instructions there. Let me know if you need anymore help with the process or if I've not been clear with anything Soaper1234 - talk 13:19, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: I have created a DYK nomination... have I done it right?! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 15:38, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That's excellent! I would just mention that you don't need to do a QPQ as it is your first nomination to avoid any confusion. Soaper1234 - talk 16:09, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Also you need to add {{Did you know nominations/HolbyBlue}} to WP:DYKN#Articles created/expanded on October 28. Soaper1234 - talk 16:11, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: done and done! Thank you for your help! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 16:21, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Soaper1234: the article passed DYK! Sorry I have come here to ask you again, but what should I do now? Either hooks could be used, which would you suggest using? ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 17:06, 10 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent news! Well done - it may take a few weeks for it to appear on the main page. I'd go with your first hook as it is the first one on the nomination and, in my opinion, sounds better. Soaper1234 - talk 21:09, 10 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: Thank you! I was thinking the first hook too, I am glad you thought the same. So, do I just need to score through the first hook and then I will be done? Or is there anything else I need to to? Many thanks for your help by the way, I am very grateful! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 17:27, 11 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You just strike through ALT1 and let the promoter know you'd let to progress with the first hook. You're all done after that. Well done on your first near-DYK! Soaper1234 - talk 17:32, 11 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of HolbyBlue

[edit]

Hello! Your submission of HolbyBlue at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Yoninah (talk) 23:16, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Hi Electrode, it's a shame this has been pulled. I wanted to suggest creating a new hook possibly around the line "Jordan decided to imitate two American police dramas: Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue" as I feel this could be a nice hook. However, it is of course your choice and your hook. Hope you are well, Soaper1234 - talk 19:40, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: I agree, it is. I had the idea that you just suggested as a new hook, and I think I might just go for that one, especially seeing as great minds think alike! Would you like credit for your suggestion? I am good thank you, I hope you are keeping well too. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 21:56, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Great minds do indeed think alike! I'm fine without any credit, especially since you also thought this idea too! Soaper1234 - talk 22:23, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, thank you very much for your suggestion too. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 08:04, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for HolbyBlue

[edit]

On 3 December 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article HolbyBlue, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that show creator Tony Jordan wanted HolbyBlue to emulate the American police dramas Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/HolbyBlue. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, HolbyBlue), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

And a very Merry Christmas to you too, Soaper1234! Thank you very much, and a huge thank you to yourself too, you’ve been exceptional. I wish you all the very best for 2018 and I look forward to hopefully collaborating with you on more articles and [hopefully] improving them to Good Article status. I think it’s been a very successful year for the Holby force, and you’ve been invaluable in contributing to the improvement of many of the articles. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Plot summary

[edit]

Hi Electrode, hope you are well. Today, I've began creating articles for the two Casualty episodes that broadcast tonight (6 January) and next Saturday (13 January) as I believe there will be plenty of sources for them (hopefully...). I was wondering if you would be able to create plot summaries for both episodes? No worries if you are busy or unable to do them though. Thank you, Soaper1234 - talk 21:43, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Soaper1234: Hi there! Of course I can, I’ve watched tonight’s episode and I’ll be adding a short summary to the series 32 page soon; a lot happened in tonight’s episode so it will be refreshing to be able to write a lengthier plot for the article. Good luck with both articles, and I’m not sure if I was dreaming or not, but I swear the BBC Casualty Twitter/Facebook page (one or the other - I’m on both and can’t remember which social platform it was!) released a behind-the-scenes photo of the cast filming in London, if you haven’t got that for the article already it may well be worth adding! Keep up the excellent work, and thank you for changing a load of the cite web templates to cite episode templates on the Casualty articles recently! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 23:25, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much, it really is a great help for me as I'm useless at writing them! I'm sure I've seen the same photo somewhere too so thank you for that reminder - I'll chuck it into my sources now! No worries about the cite episode templates. I'm trying to develop the List of Casualty episodes article to Featured List status so they needed doing to help that along really! But thank you Soaper1234 - talk 23:35, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Soaper1234: Hi Soaper1234, just wanted to say I have not forgotten about these summaries and I am currently in the process of writing them. I do apologise for the delay. I hope you are keeping well. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 22:02, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@ElectrodeandtheAnode: Don't be daft! It's fine. You're the one doing me a favour after all. Hope you are well too, Soaper1234 - talk 22:12, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much Electrode for that plot! It's fantastic and a big help to the article. I'm going to move the article to mainspace now and put it up for DYK so I'll credit you there too Soaper1234 - talk 20:24, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Soaper1234: a pleasure! Apologies it took me so long to write. I thought I’d finish and add Episode 1068’s summary first as you had completed that article already. It’s a super article, you should be very proud of it - excellent work, another faultlessly written article for the Holbyverse. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 20:38, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly, don't worry about it. I'm just grateful that you helped me out! You're very kind, thank you. Soaper1234 - talk 20:41, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: I will add Episode 1067’s summary soon too when I have finished it and checked it over. Delighted to have been able to help! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 20:45, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! Soaper1234 - talk 20:50, 23 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

List of Death in Paradise episodes

[edit]

Hi! Thank you for your efforts on List of Death in Paradise episodes. Pretty good work.

I have two questions concerning the episode titles:

  1. s1e1: I think the correct title is "Arriving in Paradise". Though BBC does not give titles to the episode, several non-BBC connected broadcasting stations do. Among them, most gave the title "Arriving in Paradise", while a smaller number gave the title "Death in Paradise" (the latter mostly those stations that used the first episode of the show as a pilot before deciding to air the hole season). Maybe you could add a respective note to the article?
  2. s7e4: Can you confirm the title "Ceremonial Murder"? This title was originally added by an IP user who did disruptive editing on this article as well as on other articles. The only confirmation I can find on the web is epguides.com, but this is circular because epguides.com refers to Wikipedia.

Thank you. --Richard-DIP (talk) 16:59, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Richard-DIP, and firstly thank you for your message regarding my efforts to improve the article. To answer the two questions:
  1. s1e1: I was unsure which of the two titles was the correct one, and as such simply went for the Epguides.com title - I was unaware that Epguides.com circulated from Wikipedia. Oops! In that case, I will happily change the title to "Arriving in Paradise".
  2. s7e4: Basically the same, I will change the episode title to the other respective title which was on the article prior to me overriding it.
Apologies for those two episode title mistakes, and many thanks for pointing them out. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 19:57, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations...

[edit]

...on the promotion of List of HolbyBlue episodes to Featured List! You did a sterling job on the list and it thoroughly deserves its place. I'm not quite sure what is happening with the wrapping up of the process, but regardless, you have made it! Congrats, Soaper1234 - talk 19:42, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Soaper1234: Thank you very much! I am absolutely delighted that the list has been promoted, all the research and hard work has paid off, and the Holbyverse articles continue to excel! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 20:02, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It truly is a fantastic achievement for yourself and the task force, so well done! Soaper1234 - talk 22:10, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Episode 1068

[edit]

On 25 April 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Episode 1068, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that actor Jamie Davis asked his former co-star Sunetra Sarker to reprise her role for his departure in Episode 1068 of Casualty? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Episode 1068. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Episode 1068), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Your GA nomination of Casualty (series 31)

[edit]

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Casualty (series 31) you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Matt14451 -- Matt14451 (talk) 11:02, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Woo! All the best :) Soaper1234 - talk 17:14, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: Thank you very much, fingers crossed we can get this promoted too! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 18:08, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, definitely! Good luck. Soaper1234 - talk 19:17, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: Also, I will get the episode summary for your "Episode 1067" article up very soon. So sorry I have delayed adding it. I see the article is literally ready to be moved, and you have also done very well on it too. I also wonder if we will have enough sources to create an article for this Saturday's episode? With it being branded "a new era" for Casualty by the social media pages and someone dying, I am staying quietly hopeful we can make a [Good] article of it. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 20:56, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, although don't worry about rushing it - I'm in no big rush for it. I was thinking this myself - Michael Stevenson gave an interview to Inside Soap so there's that. There's been various bits online that I've seen too. Would you like to collaborate on an article perhaps? Soaper1234 - talk 21:12, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: I’d most definitely be up for collaborating on the article. I reckon we may also get a few “fan reaction” articles too after Saturday’s episode. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 09:08, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
After the conclusion of last night's episode, I'm most certainly ready for a collaboration. I'll set the draft up at User:Soaper1234/ep1094. Glad you're on board too. Soaper1234 - talk 11:32, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm away for a few days now so I don't think I'll be very active on here. Feel free to do whatever on the draft while I'm gone though Soaper1234 - talk 09:18, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: Have a lovely few days away! And thank you, I see you have managed to get a wealth of sources already, all very promising! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 10:07, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, hope you are well. Disappointed to see that the GA review has been abandoned. Here's hoping someone will pick it up soon. I think I've pretty much finished the episode 1094 draft - would you mind giving it a look over when you get a chance? If you don't think there is any issues, I'll move it to mainspace :) Soaper1234 - talk 19:21, 9 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Soaper1234: Hello there! I wish I could say I was well, however in the last few weeks I have had some big changes in my life as well as falling ill with a chest infection, cold and sinusitis (my gosh I've never had sinusitis before, it is AWFUL!), so unfortunately my editing has been limited on here, mostly due to the lack of free time I have had. I'd been meaning to tell you but I have just been so caught up in everything... not that that's an excuse! Huge congratulations on completing the article, my sincerest apologies for the huge lack of input I've had, and if you put it up for GA nomination or anything else, make sure you take FULL credit for the article. I'll make sure I read over it tonight and let you know once I have done it. I agree it is disappointing seeing the review has been abandoned, hopefully a willing editor will take hold of it soon (I keep fingers crossed). I hope you are keeping well! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 18:50, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oh no, that really isn't great! Hope you make a speedy recovery - it's no good being ill. Don't worry about the article. I just went for it I suppose, and don't worry if you don't get chance to read it - I completely understand. However, let it be known, I won't be taking full credit as you have contributed. Thanks. Soaper1234 - talk 19:09, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: Thank you very much! I hardly ever get ill either, so when I do get ill, it really does hit me like a tonne of bricks. I have gone through it now and read it, a very smooth and enjoyable read I must say, you have done exceptionally on it! Without any doubt I think that article is worthy of a GAN, should you decide to nominate it. Really well done to you, Soaper1234, you should be so proud of yourself! :-) ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 20:35, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, I appreciate that. I might look into that in a while. Hope you have a speedy recovery! Soaper1234 - talk 20:42, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: anytime! And thank you very much, I wish you all the best! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 21:50, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Soaper1234, ElectrodeandtheAnode - Looks like Legobot didn't transcribe this for whatever reason, but I've opened up a GA for the article again. I've detailed a few issues I have with the article, so if you have time to adjust, I'd appreciate it. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 09:20, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Lee Vilenski: Brilliant news. Thank you. I'm away at the moment, but I'll try to respond to your feedback as and when I get a chance. Soaper1234 - talk 12:06, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Soaper1234 - Take your time. No rush. Just so long as I know you'll get to it, I'll keep it on hold. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 13:09, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Lee Vilenski: Thank you for that. I appreciate it. Soaper1234 - talk 13:52, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234 and Lee Vilenski: Hi guys. Firstly, thank you so much Lee Vilenski for taking the time out of your day to review the article. The earliest opportunity I will get to amend the article according to your review comments is this Thursday (31 October); I have been on 12 hour shifts (7:30-19:30) for the past two days, and have another 12 hour shift (same time, agh!) tomorrow. I shall definitely spend Thursday amending the article and improving it though, desperate to see this article promoted after myself and Soaper1234 worked so hard on it together! Also, thank you very much Soaper1234 for assisting with this nomination, and if you manage to get any of the issues fixed before I get a chance to, I thank you in advance! Enjoy your time away. All the best to you both. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 21:38, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello - hope you're well! The 12 hour shifts don't sound great, but I guess that's just what needs to be done. I'm just about to start on some improvements now so I'll see what I can get through. Soaper1234 - talk 21:45, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: I genuinely cannot thank you enough Soaper1234 for your dedication to improving the article. I'm very lucky that I love what I do, and the 12-hour shifts don't bother me, but it can get just a tiny bit annoying when it encroaches on my free time and prevents me from helping you out! If you need ANYTHING at all from me in return, please just let me know, and I will be more than happy to help. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 23:29, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly, it's not a problem at all. To echo my comments at the review, if anything, I'm sorry I ploughed through it all without letting you have a chance to get involved. Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to seeing if we can pass this! Soaper1234 - talk 11:32, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: please don't apologise at all, I'm so thankful for you getting on and doing it, I just want to see this article pass! Whilst I am waiting I'm going back to my sandbox and slowly beginning to work on improving the series 28 article of Casualty, feel free to get involved editing it too if you would like to! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 19:43, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well fingers crossed for a good result. I'm hopeful! Thank you very much - it looks good so far. Soaper1234 - talk 19:47, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I am struggling a bit with the wording on the overview section not going to lie, please feel free to change/amend the wording if it feels jarred. I'm not happy with the sentence I just added about Cole and Salt's departure, I don't feel it flows very well. May need a change, but if it is okay with you, could you (whenever you get a chance, no rush!) possibly look over that particular sentence and let me know if it is okay/edit it accordingly so it makes more sense? All the best! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 19:51, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It all looks good. I've merged the sentences together a bit to make it flow, but apart from that it seemed ok! Soaper1234 - talk 23:07, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Casualty Series 31

[edit]

I noticed this the other day and it’s been irritating me ever since. I edited it but it was changed back not long after: the episode numbers on series 31 of Casualty are incorrect. You’ve listed “Too Old For This Shift” as being episodes 1-2, when it was one feature length episode, not two episodes. This has meant every other episode has been incorrectly numbered, and the series only had 44 episodes rather than 45. :-) Henleysghxst (talk) 19:26, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Henleysghxst: However, Erika Hossington and Catherine Shipton both confirmed there were 45 episodes in the series on Twitter. As well as this, Amanda Mealing posted a photo of the front cover of the script for "Night of the Loving Dead" on Instagram, which was "Episode 10". In order for it to have been Episode 10, "Too Old for This Shift" must have been two episodes. Furthermore, a general consensus of the series having 45 episodes was reached on the article's talk page, and thus that is how we have decided to leave it. I hope that makes things a little clearer. DYK for Episode 1094

[edit]

On 4 October 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Episode 1094, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that to create the fireball effect in episode 1094 of Casualty, the show's production team packed ten different explosions into one blast? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Episode 1094. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Episode 1094), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Reverting my edits at List of Holby City episodes

[edit]

Hi, can you please add some commentary for your removals of my supporting content, most people seems to summarise their reasons but I cannot see that courtesy here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.105.67.195 (talk) 00:29, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, of course I can. The reason it was undone was because there were no reliable sources to back up the information that you added. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 18:22, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Casualty (series 31)

The article Casualty (series 31) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Casualty (series 31) for things which need to be addressed. Your GA nomination of Casualty (series 31)

[edit]

The article Casualty (series 31) you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Casualty (series 31) for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. If you are interested in WP:DYK, this article is of the right length, so if you can think of a good hook, it might be worth nominating. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 09:29, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: fancy nominating this for a DYK? ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 10:03, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah that's a brilliant idea. Soaper1234 - talk 12:07, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Belated Christmas wishes!

[edit]

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thanks for all your help this year and all the best for 2019. Soaper1234 - talk 12:38, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Soaper1234: A belated Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you too, Soaper1234! I am so sorry I have not been very active on Wikipedia the past few months, I have had a lot happen in my personal life over the past few months and as a result felt it necessary to take a step back from Wikipedia for a little while. However, I don't want to leave Wikipedia for good just yet! I have managed to pretty much completely catch-up on Casualty and Holby City too, so I will be adding summaries soon. Thank you so much for your continued hard work in the Holbyverse, you are a true asset not only to the Holbyverse but to Wikipedia as a whole! All the very best for 2019 and I hope to be a little more active again soon! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 22:36, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hope you've enjoyed the fesitive season! Don't be ridiculous - you shouldn't apologise for having a life! Although I'm glad to hear you're not giving up on us since I've grown to rely on your incredible support! But regardless, make sure you focus on you! Best wishes, Soaper1234 - talk 23:30, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Soaper1234: Ah bless you, Soaper, that's such a lovely thing to say, thank you! Though I must say, it is because of you and your fantastic contributions that I have been encouraged to keep editing and improving Wikipedia for so long, it really spurs me on when I see other users so willing to help and so determined to see Wikipedia improve! All the very best to you, and best of luck with your latest featured list nomination too - I am so pleased you put the list of Casualty specials up for nomination, it is superb! ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 22:50, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Gee, that's so nice. Thank you very much Yes, I had put the list up for peer review hoping to get a more seamless FL review when I nominated it, but I had no response to the peer review and it was archived. Alas, I have gone straight in there and shall hope for a good result! Thank you again, Soaper1234 - talk 23:00, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
