I noticed the chapter Philanthropy and Foundation in the book Arnold O. Beckman : one hundred years of excellence, which is a reliable secondary source, covers a lot of what your Wikipedia Draft discusses. Better to use it rather than (or in addition to) the foundation website, which is a primary source. Also, you do not use Wikipedia citation templates for your references. I fixed a number of them - hopefully that will give you a guide to fix the others. I'm just an interested Wikipedian happy to help out to improve the Draft so it can pass review. Let me know if you have any questions. Nnev66 (talk) 16:02, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help, Nnev66! I finished converting the citations to templates and converted a couple of the foundation website citations to cite the Thackray book. Do you think this is sufficient to resubmit, or are more changes needed? Editorialalex (talk) 01:42, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think that chapter is a significant reliable secondary source. The NY Times obituary also covers the foundation as well as some of the C&E News articles. I think there's enough there for a re-submit. My concern is there are a lot of references that aren't from reliable secondary sources - it's OK to include these but they may swamp out the signal from the reliable secondary sources.
I don't like the Leadership section as it's mostly just a list of officials. People could just go to the foundation website to see these and they will be changing over time. If some foundation leaders did something notable you could include it in paragraph format. Otherwise I'd remove it as it's not really content for an encyclopedia article.
Note if you have any questions you can click on the "ask us a question" link in the submission box to get more specific advice from actual reviewers. Again, I think the foundation is definitely notable - I suspect reviewers want the page in better shape before approving. I'd say right now there's a 50/50 chance of approval. I think the page looks better in that the reliable secondary sources stand out more. I added a couple of sentences about awards granted that were covered in local newspapers. There's not a single source that neatly summarizes all the awards given out but to comprehensively find them all would overwhelm the article. If the article gets declined again I encourage you to reach out to the decliner on their talk page and address concerns there. Again, IMO this organization is notable beyond its founders. I was surprised it didn't have a page when was working on a Wiki page for a scientist who received an award from the foundation. Again, I'm just one individual and other Wikipedia editors may see things slightly differently. Just keep at it and I think the page will be accepted. Nnev66 (talk) 17:57, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for your help! I really appreciate it. Editorialalex (talk) 19:11, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
