Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wentworth Club, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Clubhouse (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

That's up for sources to decide. If you cannot provide a rationale based on a corpus of English-language sources backing up your position (that is: the position suggesting he was generally known by in sources by his first surname and one of his titles (he was also marquess of Estella) rather than the two surnames, please refrain from renaming articles and stick to the rationale of WP:UCRN provided by sources in general (in this case Spanish language sources) [1][2], that suggests otherwise....--Asqueladd (talk) 15:18, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Look, mate. It is already a bit tiring to deal with the nobiliary fancruft you are keen to insert everywhere in :en:wiki in a very disruptive pattern. I can do it without you commenting on what I comment to a third party. Cheers.--Asqueladd (talk) 15:28, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Loewe full logo.svg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Loewe full logo.svg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Francisco Fernández de Béthencourt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://lopedeclavijo.blogspot.com/2013/04/francisco-fernandez-de-bethencourt-y-ii.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Corporación Financiera Alba moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Corporación Financiera Alba, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. Currently, it only has refs from 2 primary sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Warning

[edit]

Hi. [3] IIRC, you have done this in other instances, replacing illustrations of local cuisine with random pics from elsewhere (whether if food from Córdoba to illustrate Extremaduran cuisine, or Greenwich Village dishes to illustrate food from Madrid). You should not do this just because you like the photo from the random location more (btw, just on top of that, those strange parsley leaves topping the dish should already tell you that the picture does not illustrate a particularly Madrilenian presentation of patatas bravas to begin with). Regards.--Asqueladd (talk) 14:22, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the Las Ventas illustration. If "variety" across articles goes against choosing the best illustration for each article, that criteria is kind of a disservice. Don't you think? I however think that the way forward it a photograph illustrating the bullfighting (the ultimate point of the section) in the bullring, rather than again illustrating just the architecture. What do you think about that?--Asqueladd (talk) 14:48, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Asqueladd! Thank you for your advice. Again, I apologise, I think you might be right on the matter. However, I don't know if whether the bravas are from Madrid or i.e. Toledo actually matter for the sake of the article (provided they are the same recipe as you mentioned, the leaves on top are for sure not the same, I agree in that case). Given you are an infinitely more experienced Wikipedia than myself, I trust you are right and will be more careful next time, I just hope you can sometimes be a tiny bit nicer in your criticism please :) Regarding the Las Ventas thing, I think variety should always be preferred provided that both images are of the same or very similar quality (the best one should always be the one used in the article and the lesser one as a link in another article in my view). Thanks again!!! --Cantabrucu (talk) 15:01, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I am also wondering (that was the least retorical out of the two questions... ;) ), if the illustration of actual bullfighting in Madrid (example 1 zoomed out; example 2 zoomed in), wouldn't be better than whichever photograph attempts to only illustrate (indoor or outdoor) "architecture". Pardon me if am being a tad too emphatic, but I feel that there is a lazy trend in articles about cities, regions, et al. to illustrate every section with a building façade, whichever the topic it deals about, as if the main point regarding the illustration of EVERY single topic was to boast about beautiful architecture.--Asqueladd (talk) 15:11, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes Asqueladd, absolutely true. Beauty and perfection is certainly not a fair representation of reality, but I don't think it is a bad thing to choose the most aesthetically pleasing photographs when writing articles! --Cantabrucu (talk) 15:16, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In the way I see—it is not rocket science—the article about patatas bravas should feature the best possible illustration of patatas bravas (considerations may apply other than pleasantness of the aesthetics, for example, the adherence to a certain standard). The section about food in Madrid should choose the most illustrative pictures of food from Madrid (while the selection is certainly open to discussion, the picture being from Madrid should not be a point up for discussion). The article about the Las Ventas bullring should feature the best possible illustration of that architectural structure. The section of bullfighting in the article of Madrid should choose the photograph best depicting bullfighting in Madrid. Then, if some photo illustrating a section of a given article regarding the food or the local cultural practices (of Madrid or Villanueva de la Serena, or, if we are considering Spain, of any of the more than 8,000 municipalities) repeats in another article (about a dish, about a building...) that surely cannot be a main concern.--Asqueladd (talk) 15:42, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Totally agree! --Cantabrucu (talk) 15:47, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just for the record. The current patatas bravas (File:Patatas bravas madrid (cropped).jpg) are said to be from "Casa Toni", Madrid (Calle de la Cruz [es], 14). The ones from the picture you added (File:Patatas bravas - La Nacional.jpg; curiously by the same photographer!) are said to be from La Nacional Restaurant, West Village, Manhattan, New York (239 W 14th Street). The former patatas also look way more "traditional", "castizas" or whatever you may call the idea of adherence to a longstanding presentation distinct of Madrid bars.--Asqueladd (talk) 16:39, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting! Thanks for the info!--Cantabrucu (talk) 16:44, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Page history merge

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Marquessate of Villena a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Marquess of Villena. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Btw, I agree with your move. Cheers! Thinker78 (talk) 01:08, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Cantabrucu. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Corporación Financiera Alba".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 23:43, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:32, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Charles III requested move discussion

[edit]

There is a new requested move discussion in progress for the Charles III article. Since you participated in the previous discussion, I thought you might like to know about this one. Cheers. Rreagan007 (talk) 07:05, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cut & paste moves

[edit]

I see that you recently tried to have an article renamed by copying its content into a new article and then requesting that the original article be deleted. That is not an acceptable way to rename a page, because it destroys the editing history, which must be kept to comply with Wikipedia's copyright licensing terms. Instead, if there is,a good reason for a page to be renamed, then the existing page, complete with its editing history, must be moved to the new title. JBW (talk) 21:33, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
