M. D. Parashar
[edit]The article was deleted per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/M. D. Parashar. If you wish to restore that article, you should cite reliable sources, independent of the subject to show this person meets the notability criteria.
Posting requests to restore the article on all kinds of inappropriate venues a) will not help, and b) can easily be construed as disruptive editing or a sign of competence issues. Kleuske (talk) 08:40, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
- Dear Wikipedia Community,
- I would like to request the restoration of the Wikipedia article for M. D. Parashar, who was a renowned wildlife artist. The article was deleted on April 7, 2021, and I believe there may have been a misunderstanding regarding its notability.
- M. D. Parashar was born and raised in Ranthambhore, Rajasthan, India, and he graduated from the Rajasthan School of Art. He gained recognition worldwide for his exceptional paintings of tigers using lampblack or soot as his medium. His artworks have been showcased in galleries and museums across the globe, and he received numerous awards for his outstanding contributions to wildlife art.
- I have meticulously compiled three reliable sources that support my assertion of M. D. Parashar's notability:
- The article on Saffronart.com, which provides an in-depth exploration of his work and showcases images of his paintings: Saffronart Article
- The article on DNA India, which discusses his unique use of soot as a medium for his paintings: DNA India Article
- The article on Newsweek, which reports on a video of a tiger fighting a wild boar that was filmed by M. D. Parashar: Newsweek Article
- MDParashar.com: This is the official website of M. D. Parashar and serves as a reliable source for information about his work and achievements.
- In addition to these sources, I have found two more platforms that showcase Parashar's work:
- Fine Art America: This website seems to feature Parashar's art but may not provide enough independent coverage to establish notability on its own.
- Artenblu: Similar to Fine Art America, this website showcases Parashar's work but may not offer substantial independent coverage.
- These sources collectively provide substantial evidence of my father's notability and his significant contributions to the field of wildlife art. I kindly request the Wikipedia community's assistance in restoring the Wikipedia page dedicated to my father so that his remarkable work can be appropriately documented and celebrated.
- Thank you for your time and consideration.
- I apologize for posting my request for restoration on all kinds of inappropriate venues. I am new to Wikipedia, and I am still learning the ropes. I will be more careful in the future.
- Sincerely,
- Ayush.parashar27 (talk) Ayush.parashar27 (talk) 09:24, 14 September 2023 (UTC)Ayush.parashar27 (talk) 09:21, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
- This is not the place to plead your case. You can request Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion citing the sources above, but, given the earlier outcome in AfD, I doubt this will be successful. I do, however, urge you to consider you have a conflict of interest and may not be able to judge your fathers notability (by Wikipedia standards, that is) impartially. Kleuske (talk) 09:36, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
- I would add that if you want to celebrate your father's work and document it, a personal website that you own and operate is the best place to do that, or social media. 331dot (talk) 11:19, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for the suggestion. I'll keep that in mind. My intention is not to use Wikipedia as a promotional tool but rather to contribute to the encyclopedia's mission of providing accurate and verifiable information on notable topics. If there are specific concerns or suggestions for improvement in this regard, please feel free to share them.
- I look forward to working within Wikipedia's guidelines to create an informative and encyclopedic article about M. D. Parashar. Ayush.parashar27 (talk) 12:38, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
