Unspecified source/license for File:Laborate 1985 logo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Laborate 1985 logo.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Hello Allin96. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Allin96. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Allin96|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 12:58, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Theroadislong.Thank you for the articulated response and the suggestions you've made. I would like to disclose that I have not been paid nor any compensation has been provided to me to draft this article. However, I would like to state that I have been indirectly related to someone who works for this group. He is an old college acquaintance and wanted someone to write an unbiased piece. I have volunteered to draft this on my own volition and have tried to draft the article in an informative and neutral voice. If I am supposed to abide by any other rules pertaining to this, I would be happy to. Allin96 (talk) 04:49, 26 September 2020 (UTC)Allin96[reply]
Hi Allin96. Based on what you've posted above, I think you would still considered to have a WP:COI by many members of the Wikipedia community per WP:COI#Writing about yourself, family, friends for trying to create an article about your friend's company. Whether your connection meets what is considered to be WP:PAID editing is unclear, but be advised that "compensated editing" doesn't necessarily only mean being directly paid money to edit or create an article; it can also include some types of non-monetary compensation (e.g. preferential treatment or services) as well as indirect types of compensation (e.g a stockholder editing an article about a company they own stock in so as to try and improve/maintain the company's value and thus increase/maintain the value of their stock).
All of the above doesn't mean you can't still work on improving the draft like you've been doing, but it probably would be best for you to continue to submit it for review to WP:AFC if the current version you have submitted is declined. Just keep doing your best to improve the draft in accordance with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines and follow the suggestion of the AFC reviewers. If, on the other hand, the draft is accepted as an article, then you should explain WP:OWN to our friend. The article is going to be written about his company reflecting what independent reliable sources are saying about it; it's not going to be written for his company or on behalf of his company reflecting what the company wants the world to know about it. So, neither he nor anyone connected to him or the company (including even his friends) will have any sort of final editorial control over article content.
If you're friend expects to be able to "control" the article through others or expects to "use" the article for any of the things listed here, he will only end up causing lots of problems for anyone he asks to edit the article. Article content will be assessed according Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, not what he or the company wants, and any disagreements over article content (i.e. what to leave in or what to leave out) will need to be resolved through WP:CONSENSUS according to Wikipedia:Dispute resolution.
As for your connection, it would probably be a good idea for you as well to follow Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide#Steps for engagement (also see WP:COIADVICE) and use the article's talk page to propose or request changes be made to the article (except in some very limited cases where the change is so minor or so obviously an improvement that 10 out of 10 editors are highly unlikely to disagree with the edit) once the draft has been approved as an article. If you find you do need to edit the article for some unavoidable reason, you should leave an edit summary clearly explaining why and stating your connection to the subject; if your edit is reverted by another editor, even after some time has passed, you should follow WP:BRD and start a discussion about things on the article's talk page. If you simply revert the reverter, you're likely going to run the risk of edit warring which neither you, your friend, nor his company will be able to win. If you're not sure whether something's going to be a minor edit, then it's best to use the article talk page and let another unconnected editor assess it. Good luck with your draft. -- Marchjuly (talk) 23:23, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Marchjuly, so what is the current status of my article. Do I need to make any disclosures. Has my article been sent for review, please let me know as Im new and still getting acclimatized with the terms and abbreviations. thanks youAllin96 (talk) 05:30, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Draft:Laborate Pharmaceuticals India Limited is still awaiting an AfC review. Sometimes it takes time for a draft to be reviewed because there tend to be more drafts submitted than there are WP:VOLUNTEERs to review them. You just need to be patient. You can, however, continue to work on the improving the draft if you like, or can try and find other ways to WP:CONTRIBUTE to improving Wikipedia. There are over six million articles and many need improving; so, if you find one that you think you can make better, feel free to be WP:BOLD and ry and do so. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:57, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
