Brand endorsement section

[edit]

Hello M.Abhina, regarding the recent edit you have made in Shahrukh Khan 's page, it is very well appreciated, but you can't just add a list of companies (with no reliable source nevertheless). I will be removing the section, however, if you are keep on adding those certain informations, you may would like to include them in a section similar to this: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Genilia_D%27Souza#Popular_reception. Not just as a list. Thx :D --Meryam90 (talk) 16:57, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The list had reliable source of referencing, i am still wondering for where was the mistake.Abhinav619 (talk) 22:37, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The isn't really a pre-say mistake, but for the sake of WP:MoS, you can't just list names of brands randomly like that...like for the example of Genilia_D'Souza, you could write a section regarding his Brand endorsements and such. But a simple list of brands in a section void of even an introduction is unacceptable. --Meryam90 (talk) 17:16, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Rahul Dravid page has a similar concept which provoked me to write for Aamir but lack of referencing made me shift my approach to SRK. Now what should be done regarding this page. --Abhinav619 (talk) 22:50, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am sure that if you ever put Rahul Dravid's page to peer review, that section would be gone before any of us could blink. Well you can put it, like I said, in a paragraph, not a list. I hope this link helps: http://www.siliconindia.com/shownews/Big_Bollywood_Endorsements_of_2011-nid-101893-cid-3.html as for now, I don't think adding that section is of any use really, I'd understand why it is kept for a sportsman, but actors are known for their endorsement all over, it isn't the most special thing really nor is it worth the mention. --Meryam90 (talk) 17:27, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for stalking, but I really feel this discussion should've been on the talk page of that article and not on a user's talk page so that other experienced users could've commented. --Debastein (talk) 18:52, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well we could always move it, tho I doubt there is any thing more that could be added to the matter. --Meryam90 (talk) 20:21, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Nand Gopal Gupta has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. -- Patchy1 REF THIS BLP 02:38, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Possible WP:COPYVIO

[edit]

Hi! This image is a possible copyright violation, unless you had the written permission of the copyright holder who agreed to release it under the applicable licences. I understand this was probably done in good faith by you. That's fine by me! If you don't mind though, you can flag it for deletion and say that you don't own the permissions and uploaded it by mistake. You may also want to read Wikipedia:Image use policy for further clarification. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 03:19, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You may relax, I have the written permission. Abhinav619 (talk) 03:36, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I'm not sure. Correct me if I am getting it wrong. You have tagged it as your "own work". Did you design this yourself? --Lemongirl942 (talk) 03:42, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It seems to me either the permission has to be correctly specified or there needs to be evidence shown that the image has been released into public domain by the original copyright holder. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 03:49, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please guide me on how to show the permission work? Abhinav619 (talk) 04:05, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, if you don't mind, I will ask someone more experienced than me to help out with this. I know the basics, but I don't think I am very experienced in Image copyright matters. I will post at one of the noticeboards now and tag you. Thank you for your cooperation. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 04:24, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've granted you IP block exemption, so the block on your underlying IP should no longer be a problem for you. My understanding is that this is a temporary problem, so whenever you find you don't need it anymore (i.e. you stop using that particular network), please tell me or another admin so it can be removed. This right is taken seriously (perhaps more seriously than really necessary). Please read WP:IPBE to make sure you don't do one of the things you aren't supposed to do. Request for Article Name Change

[edit]

Hi.

I got your details through Wikipedia's list of active Asian editors, and since you are online, I am reaching out to you as a new Wikipedia member (and not user). I made an account to edit a particular page, but I realised that only auto confirmed users can change the title of the page, using the 'Move' tab. Since I do not have the privilege to do that, I was hoping you would.

My issue is with a particular page titled 'Gorakshanath' which should actually be named, 'Gorakhnath'. Understandably, this is a sinister political shenanigan that is an attempt to impose the right-wing ideology of go-raksha (cow protection) down our throats. Please change the name at the earliest, if you can. It is a serious issue. This is how it starts!

Thanks. Prateek

@Prateekpaul7: I find that a discusssion on the talk page has already been initiated. It would be a good idea if you take this argument with references. As in support with citation your point.

Speedy deletion declined: Josh Talks

[edit]

Hello Abhinav619, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Josh Talks, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: was soft deleted, so can be recreated, also content is different, G4 and A7 have been declined (total of 3 times now), try AfD if it should be deleted. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. —SpacemanSpiff 04:50, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Asian Month 2017: Invitation to Participate

[edit]

Hello! Last year, you signed up to participate in Wikipedia Asian Month (WAM) 2016 on the English Wikipedia. The event was an international success, with hundreds of editors creating thousands of articles on Asian topics across dozens of different language versions of Wikipedia.

I'd like to invite you to join us for Wikipedia Asian Month 2017, which once again lasts through the month of November. The goal is for users to create new articles on Asian-related content, each at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words in length. Editors who create at least four articles will receive a Wikipedia Asian Month postcard!

Also be sure to check out the Wikipedia Asian Art Month affiliate event - creating articles on Asian art topics can get you a Metropolitan Museum of Art postcard!

If you're interested, please sign up here for the English Wikipedia. If you are interested in also working on other language editions of Wikipedia, please visit the meta page to see other participating projects. If you have any questions, please visit our talk page.

Thank you!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Josh Talks, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Economic Times (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Notice

The article Rohit Varma (photographer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The sources used in this article are either unreliable or do not contain substantive information about the subject. In at least one case, a source does not mention the subject at all.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Vanamonde (talk) 12:04, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Vanamonde93: : Thanks for writing. I would request you to provide detailed feedback on why the said needs to be deleted. Your arguments at the momement are generic. A detailed feedback would help in rectification and hence improvement. Thanks. --Abhinav619 (talk) 02:50, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, they are very specific. The sources you use are either unacceptable, or do not discuss the subject in sufficient detail. You need multiple reliable sources that provide substantive coverage of the subject of the article. Vanamonde (talk) 03:57, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Vanamonde93: Okay Thank You! I think we can proceed to delete this. There aren't any available. Thanks for pointing this out. I appreciate this. --Abhinav619 (talk) 04:12, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the sources already in the article suggested there wouldn't be many others. Let the PROD tag remain there for now; an admin will delete it when it expires, and that's the most efficient way of dealing with it. Vanamonde (talk) 05:02, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Death, is not the template to advertise someone's death. the article has been updated, do not restore this template again. discuss on talk if you disagree.

If you would like to help on this article, please help to add some more references wherever they are lacking. So that the page can come on the main page of Wikipedia. --DBigXray 07:10, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

All facts havent come out. Thats the reason. The death has happened some hours back.--Abhinav619 (talk) 07:14, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is not bothered about minor details and causes of the death. Death has been confirmed and natural causes/illness has been confirmed. that is all that is needed here. rest of the minute details are for newspaper and general public, those details are not added into the wikipedia article.
The template is for person whose death news is not fully confirmed or no official confirmation has been made. an example for using this template is here Emiliano Sala.--DBigXray 07:41, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You are confused between recent death and current person template.--Abhinav619 (talk) 07:49, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sala's death has not been confirmed. so current person is used. if the death is confirmed but causes are not clear, then recent death is used. the language used in the template is almost the same apart from this specific difference.

so tell me which conditions that are written here are applicable ? and why do you think it is justified to keep this tag. --DBigXray 10:22, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That is one of the many outcomes. The English is clear--Abhinav619 (talk) 12:53, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
