Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2019 TCU Horned Frogs baseball team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mitchell Park (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 14:35, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Adonis Rosa Yankees.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. An extended welcome

[edit]

Hi 18pittsone. Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.

Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Ronz (talk) 17:32, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, 18pittsone,

Thank you for creating 2020 TCU Horned Frogs baseball team.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Please review WP:NSEASONS. As it stands this page does not pass that standard.

@Sulfurboy:

Hello Sulfurboy,

I do not understand how this article does not meet the notability guidelines. I have created tens of season articles for this team and other teams and have never run into this issue before. There is no doubt that this team is notable since it is currently ranked and has been to four of the past six college world series. Can you please elaborate on why you do not believe this fits the notability requirements?

18pittsone (talk) 22:35, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

18pittsone, The article is likely a case of WP:TOOSOON if and when they make the CWS then the season would be considered notable. Please note that not all seasons are always notable, and just because another page exists, doesn't mean this one should too. I would advise again that you review WP:NSEASON. So far it does not meet any of those prongs. If you believe they have, please point out which one. Sulfurboy (talk) 22:58, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Further, my intent is not to hound you or bug what you're doing, but there has been a drive lately to delete pages such as this (unnoteable seasons, particularly current and future ones). The template is just as much a protection of your page than anything. It stands as a reminder to show later when the season has reached the requiste notability. Sulfurboy (talk) 22:59, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Sulfurboy:

Thank you for your response. This explanation makes total sense. I was unaware of the recent effort to delete unnotable seasons and the like. In retrospect, I have found dozens of articles that fail to fit the criteria for notability. I was wondering if there is a way I can get involved in this effort. Let me know what I can do.

Thanks 18pittsone (talk) 23:29, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:UC San Diego Tritons men's soccer seasons requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

Hello WOSO editors!

What a year to be alive. As usual (but perhaps even moreso since there have been unexpected quarantines), there has been a lot of activity on player, team, league and tournament-related Wikipedia articles with all of the worldwide coverage of women's football / soccer. Great work!

Fall Focus: FA WSL articles

You may have noticed lots of great things going on for the top English league this year: the FA WSL. More (international!) broadcasts, top international player signings, improved media coverage, and increased viewership. Let's keep the momentum brewing, shall we?

Here's a sampling of articles that could use creation, expansion or updating. What will you commit to working on?

Historical Topics
Managers
Teams
Players
Other

See also Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Women's football task force/Initiatives/FA WSL to collaborate and organize with other editors.

Every little bit helps! Thanks for your contributions!

Did you know...

WP:GNG takes precedence over WP:NFOOTY (which only includes the players in two currently active women's leagues)? Often times there is enough media coverage that meets WP:GNG or other notability guidelines. For more information, see WP:WOSO#Notability and be sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}

Current and upcoming seasons for top-division leagues

Have some new articles in mind or see some that need improvement? Add them to the Open Tasks.

Was an article you worked on nominated for deletion? See:

Want some tips, assistance, or resources from other WOSO editors?
Leave a message on the task force talk page.

Thank you for your continued contributions to articles related to women's football / soccer (WOSO)!
