Nelson Haedo Valdez‎

[edit]

Hi, I see you're doing a lot of good work on Nelson Haedo Valdez‎, but could you please not only put the bare links in the references but give some additional information like title, publihser, accessdate etc.? Bare URLs are subject to WP:Link rot which should be preventet. Thanks. --Jaellee (talk) 13:23, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Lebanon national football team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Peter Green (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Re:Carlos Tevez

[edit]

Hi there, the Tevez situation is certainly a very complicated issue, one that has confused editor's for a while on the Tevez page. He was technically owned by his agent Kia Joorabchian's company, so when he signed for United it was on a loan deal from his agent. His agent had payed West Ham United £2 million to make him a free agent, and then loaned him to United for two years. When he joined Manchester City they paid his agent for him. All this is explained in the links on the Tevez page, although I must admit the whole thing confuses me from time to time, though to put Tevez's spell at United as loan in the infobox though makes it appear as if he was on loan from West Ham. The article 2014 AFC U-22 Asian Cup qualification squads has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No meaningful content; fails WP:CRYSTAL

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

That is the full name of the club. It is not like calling Manchester United the Manchester United Red Devils, because Western Sydney Wanderers FC is the full name of the team as announced at the team launch.Macktheknifeau (talk) 09:13, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm sorry but I cannot help you there, you have to ask an administrator for this. An admin I know who is very active in football is User:GiantSnowman, so you could ask him. Hi there 181 HWC, VASCO from Portugal here,

you have made an error in this player's infobox, i know that info existed in past years in the box, but you were possibly mislead, he NEVER played with Real Oviedo, on loan or not.

Also about this player: why remove the second part of his RCD Espanyol storyline? It is 200% correct.

Templates

[edit]

The name of {{2013 South American Youth Championship}} is inappropriate - it should follow standard conventions of 'Country squad Tournament' i.e. 'Argentina squad 2013 South American Youth Championship' - you have also not included any categories. Please be more careful in future. GiantSnowman 13:06, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You are still not including them in categories i.e. {{Argentina squad 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup}}. GiantSnowman 14:21, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. Thanks for correcting me. Just step-by-step, do I add the categories once I have completed the template but add them at the bottom saying <>noneincluded<> or something. Is that what you are informing me or is there something else which I have left out? Regards User:181hamburgerwcheeseUser talk:181hamburgerwcheese 20:29: 1 January 2012 (AEST)

Yes, simply make an edit like this. GiantSnowman 13:33, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You are still using incorrect naming formats / no categories - {{Argentina U-20 squad 2005 South American Youth Championship}}. GiantSnowman 10:29, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 72#International squad templates (and the previous discussion linked therein) which says the format should be '[country] squad [tournament]'. GiantSnowman 10:37, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You continue to create templates without categories - {{Paraguay Squad 2013 South American Youth Championship}} - I have given you plenty of help, if you continue to do so then I will consider blocking. GiantSnowman 11:34, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes sir. I now am aware of concern which you have frequently informed me. Please forgive the level of my English, which in actual fact has misplaced me in translation. Please, do not get angry with this. 181hamburgerwcheese 15:46, 5 February 2013

Thanks for contributing the new article 2009 South American Under-17 Football Championship squads. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Many thanks! PS If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. GiantSnowman 13:33, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lebanon national football team

[edit]

Hi 181hamburgerwcheese, I'm afraid that I can't really help you, because I'm not an admin. I cannot block users nor protect pages, I'm just an experienced editor. I had this problem myself already (some guy using several IP's who was deliberately falsifying Iker Casillas's statistics) and I can just give some proposals what you could do in this case. But take care that you don't violate WP:3RR; if an admin then looks at the version history you might get blocked instead of the IP (or you both).

  • Each time, if you revert such an editor's vandalism, use one of the templates at Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace and write a message on his talk page. Start with Level 1 (e.g. {{uw-vandalism1}}) and increase the level after each vandal edit he makes. After the editor has received a Level 4 (final) warning, you can report him at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism and usually the editor will be blocked for some time. This takes patience and if he uses several IP's, it takes a whole lot of patience. In some cases, the IP even starts talking about why he is making these edits and you can maybe convince him stop (but this happens really quite seldom).

Regarding this edit, Asunción is shown as a destination because Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR) is the parent company of Austral Líneas Aéreas.
