Bissau Palace Hotel
[edit]@Dr. Blofeld: @Rosiestep: Could not find any text to add to Bissau Palace Hotel. Created an article on Bissau Palace Hotel, Jaipur. May like to edit.--Nvvchar. 05:31, 2 June 2015 (UTC)
I'm done editing Bissau Palace Hotel, Jaipur. @Dr. Blofeld: when you're done, please suggest a hook. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:19, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
...that although a hotel, Bissau Palace Hotel, Jaipur contains displays of jewelery, weapons, sculptures of elephants, vases, and photographs which include that of a tiger shikar scene and of Lord Mountbatten visiting the Royal family of Bissau?♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:38, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
Coffee
[edit]I'm not sure if you're keeping an eye on the Intertranswiki project's Stub Focus, but I've started these (and the rest tonight). --Rosiestep (talk) 14:21, 2 June 2015 (UTC)
- Coffee production in Cameroon
- Coffee production in Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Coffee production in Dominican Republic
- Coffee production in Guadeloupe
- Coffee production in Guam
- Coffee production in Ivory Coast
- Coffee production in Jamaica
- Coffee production in Martinique
- Coffee production in Panama
- Coffee production in Paraguay
- Coffee production in Peru (new)
- Coffee production in Puerto Rico
- Coffee production in Sri Lanka
- Coffee production in Thailand (new)
- Coffee consumption in Uruguay (renamed)
@Rosiestep: @Dr. Blofeld:. I have completed my inputs to all 10 articles. But there are no coffee plantains in Uruguay and hence I have covered the import aspects and popular coffee brands in use in the country. It is short by a few ch. Could not find references to the tagged texts in the Guadeloupe article except for one tag. Text from the last reference I have used could be provide some info to remove some of the unreferenced tagged texts. Even if some sentences are removed artcile will still be more 1500 ch. --Nvvchar. 05:22, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
- Very good, Char. Uruguay: I noted the same things as you -- Uruguay does not produce coffee so should we change the title to Coffee consumption in Uruguay, or delete it? I've seen some information on coffee production in Ivory Coast (started the article), Cameroon and Sri Lanka, so they need articles. Can you think of other coffee-producing countries we should cover? --Rosiestep (talk) 13:41, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep: Yes. It should be renamed as Coffee consumption in Uruguay. Are you proposing to post them on DYK since they are all above 1500ch. I will add some text to the 3 new ones. I am also active on the mining articles. --Nvvchar. 14:39, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, let's get them nomed. I'll circle back to each of them tomorrow. @Dr. Blofeld: which ones are ready? Also, gentlemen, please suggest hooks, as I think these will be individual noms, unless it makes sense to double up somewhere. --Rosiestep (talk) 01:15, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep:@Dr. Blofeld:. I have the following suggestions for the 13 articles, some with pictures, to be posted on DYK on different dates.Guadeloupe article needs editing to remove the tags.--Nvvchar. 15:40, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
I'll try to edit them all tomorrow.♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:42, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
- I removed the uncited content from Guadeloupe. Guam is mostly PD; I don't think there's 1500 ch of new content yet. --Rosiestep (talk) 19:08, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep:@Dr. Blofeld:.Both Guadeloupe and Guam have much more than 1500 ch. and can be posted on DYK. --Nvvchar. 23:33, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
Char & @Dr. Blofeld: I've expanded/improved the Template:Coffee production using 2014 data, adding lists, etc. Added redlinks to the template and above list for two additional articles to round out the 2014 Top 20, Peru and Thailand. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:29, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, I miss the brown theme though ;-(♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:35, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Dr. Blofeld: I didn't know how to keep the brown theme. When I added the divisions, they showed up light brown. When I added the bottom link, that bar was light blue. It looked like a mess. I couldn't figure out how to make them all the same, and thought about bugging you to do it, but decided instead to just go with the default. If you can make them all brown, please do! It would probably be good to change Template:Coffee to brown, too. --Rosiestep (talk) 19:03, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

[edit]8th June
I've edited the first three, Char and Rosie, can you find something actually about modern production in Martinique though? It's currently too short after I cut much of the PD source.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:43, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Dr. Blofeld: Martinique is now 1619 ch.--Nvvchar. 23:27, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep:@Dr. Blofeld: If you have completed editing the above four need to be nominated today.--Nvvchar. 14:45, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, I'll complete my edits to Puerto Rico tonight and will nom two of them.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:46, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

- @Dr. Blofeld: This needs your input for nomination today.--Nvvchar. 13:14, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- Ref 7, can't verify.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:25, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

... that in the 20th century Guam, coffee was one of the commonest plants, growing about most of the dwelling houses as lilac bushes grow in America?
- This fact was noted in the 19th century, but I'm unclear if it is still the case over 100 years later. --Rosiestep (talk) 13:36, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep:, I can't find anything more on Guam. Hence, I have qualified the hook text with 20th century. Pl see if it is acceptable.--Nvvchar. 15:39, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- ALT1: ... that coffee grew around Guam's houses in the early 20th century? --Rosiestep (talk) 03:18, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep: It is short and nice.--Nvvchar. 03:24, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep:@Dr. Blofeld:This has to be nominated today.
- Nomed it.
11th June
...that Coffee consumption in Uruguay relies on imports as there are no coffee plantations in the country?
...that Ivory Coast is one of the largest robusta producers in the world?
...that Coffee production in Sri Lanka (pictured) of arabica, occurred in the 1660s with seeds probably originating from Yemen?
...that Coffee production in Cameroon (pictured) is important as it is grown extensively in the country, with robusta more prevalent in the coastal areas and arabica more prevalent in the western highlands?
- ALT1: ... that Coffee production in Cameroon (pictured) includes robusta in the coastal areas and arabica in the western highlands?
- Nice.--Nvvchar. 03:28, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Dr. Blofeld:@Rosiestep:In case you have completed editing these four articles, they need to be nominated today.--Nvvchar. 14:38, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- Can you please do the noms? I am travelling and encountered unexpected flight delays. Thank you. --Rosiestep (talk) 05:18, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep: Yes, nominated above three except Coffee consumption in Uruguay. @Dr. Blofeld: I have included your name in the credits in all the three. Pl add your edits.--Nvvchar. 05:37, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- Also, a friendly suggestion, you may want to remove Dr. B's name from the credits of articles he didn't work on as that practice is frowned upon at DYK. And, we know to add our name to the credits if we choose to work on an article after it's nomed. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:38, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, I'll pass on those ones if it's OK.♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:08, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

... that in Peru (pictured), the Coffea arabica is the dominant crop grown in 70% of the area, followed by caturra 29% area and other varieties in balance area?
- This adds up to 109%. Is this due to overlapping regions maybe? --Rosiestep (talk) 19:38, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep: It could be just 1%. Suggest correct as balance in other varieties.--Nvvchar. 20:03, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- As caturra is an arabica variety, I suggest ALT1: ... that 29% of the Coffee production in Peru includes the caturra variety of arabica? --Rosiestep (talk) 18:56, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
...that Coffee production in Thailand (pictured) was 50,000 tons during 2013 with a world ranking of 18?
I've edited the above two.♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:33, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
- Char and @Dr. Blofeld: I have to run off to a family event and unsure if I'll be back online today. Can someone please nom these? --Rosiestep (talk) 18:56, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

- Char and @Dr. Blofeld: The reserve clearly had to be split from the island article. I've expanded the island article and the character count is fine. Started User:Nvvchar/Grégoire I, we could do a triple hook ...that St. Michael's Cathedral in Rikitea in the Gambier Islands contains the tomb of Grégoire I...? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:14, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
- It made sense to do the three, but we do have rather a lot of articles to get through, so no worries if not.♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:35, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep:@Dr. Blofeld:I have given my inputs to User:Nvvchar/Grégoire I in case you wish to take it further for the triple.--Nvvchar. 03:04, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

- @Dr. Blofeld:Would it be more appropriate to title this article Maputeoa since he was a Polynesian monarch and Gregoire was only his baptismal name like Aleamotuʻa who was named Josiah. --KAVEBEAR (talk) 16:57, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
These are all in mainspace now: Maputeoa, Rikitea, and St. Michael's Cathedral, Rikitea. Char, there is a reference tag in Rikitea named "Carlson", but it doesn't point to anything; it appears you added it; can you locate the URL and flesh out the reference? I'll deal with the triple nom. --Rosiestep (talk) 02:15, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

@Rosiestep: @Nvvchar: @Dr. Blofeld: Would either three of you be interested in creating short articles (doesn't have to be DYK) for Honoré Laval and François Caret (I have images of these two men on the Wiki Commons) since they were important figures in the introduction of Catholicism in the South Pacific, not just in Mangareva but also in Tahiti where they were caused the diplomatic crisis between the French and Tahitian Queen Pomare IV? I have a nice source for Caret here. And maybe high priest Matua too, but I don't know if there is not much on him that is not French and hard to search.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 06:22, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

Yes, hope you feel better soon. Which entity is this for? We could do one purely for Ross Island of course.♦ Dr. Blofeld 07:00, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Dr. Blofeld: It is only for the Ross Island Penal Colony and not for Ross Island.--Nvvchar. 13:09, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
No, what I mean is what entity would it be listed in the A-Z under?♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:22, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

- Is it an expansion or new article? It looks way too long for what we agreed on. The lede alone is nearing minimum DYK length!♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:39, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Dr. Blofeld: Right in the beginning I mentioned that it is going to be long article. As we did expand this Puerto Baquerizo Moreno to 5x I thought you would want to do this also. It is a new article.--Nvvchar. 22:03, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

- I cut the climate in the main article as it's unsourced so should be OK now. By the looks of it though it needs a trim in places, but expanding the lede should do it. Will look tomorrow.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:13, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

- Hope you both don't mind but I've pasted the sandbox article into the main article without a page move because if we imported the page history it wouldn't have been a five time expansion, as I removed the unsourced climate info later. Coffee production in Guadeloupe
[edit]Char and @Dr. Blofeld: I just spent 2.5 hours re-working this one. Several other coffee articles also have issues which we need to deal with. Before we move the mining articles to mainspace, let's make sure they are as spot on as possible so we avoid extra work later on. If that means cutting back an article to 1501 char, so be it. Taking a break to run errands... --Rosiestep (talk) 19:57, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

DYK
[edit]Sir , How much I have to expand to make this article for DYK duting Sunabesa.-- Sailesh Patnaik (Talk2Me|Contribs) 07:33, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Saileshpat: The prose is about 1214 ch without bulletted items. It has to be raised to 6200 ch prose only. I don't think you can find so much text for this subject.--Nvvchar. 09:48, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Saileshpat:Convert all the bullteeted text into prose format with reliable references. Also add from some of the references I have used in my article Nabakalebara 2015. I will also see if we can find some more book references.--Nvvchar. 14:30, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
