- @Dr. Blofeld: I have fixed bibliography in Religion in Varanasi and did minor editing. It can also be posted on DYK.--Nvvchar. 06:43, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
It should probably be expanded with the landmarks section too. Such an article is important enough to get to GA in its own right too. The problem is it might get too bloated.♦ Dr. Blofeld 06:55, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Dr. Blofeld: I feel we should limit it to only the religious aspects as already covered and not add landmarks section which is already well covered in the Varanasi article.--Nvvchar. 07:48, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

QPQ
[edit]Hi Nvvchar. In reviewing one of your recent DYK nominations, I noticed your QPQ review of Jeff Seidel. Could you try to make sure that you at least briefly mention all points of the DYK criteria in each QPQ you do? In particular, this review did not address neutrality, verifiability beyond the hook itself, the QPQ, hook length or whether it was interesting. You may even be already checking these things without jotting them down, but it's extremely helpful to those who build preps when all criteria are briefly mentioned in the review. When they aren't mentioned, we have to double check the articles ourselves to ensure they meet the criteria missed. Just to be clear, I'm not declining this QPQ, just noting that it could be more complete. Thanks, and keep up the good work with content creation. Over 1000 DYK credits is insane! ~ RobTalk 11:51, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

- I'd prefer the blue plaque describes him as "one of Southwark's greatest industrialists" it would need to be formally sourced though and the building stated that it appears on.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:21, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep: @Dr. Blofeld: The alternative hook to be posted as suggested by Dr. B could be ... that a blue plaque dedicated to George Livesey (pictured) describes him as "one of Southwark's greatest industrialists? I have fixed a reference now.--Nvvchar. 07:08, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

Can you address the issues that Belle has before I go any further. Thanks!--Doug Coldwell (talk) 05:03, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
- Char and @Dr. Blofeld: we have to fix the "significant flaws", i.e. if the citation says one thing and we wrote something contradictory. After an article is fixed, I recommend that we nominate it. If it means 16 separate noms, it means 16 separate noms. If you don't agree, please suggest an alt plan. --Rosiestep (talk) 04:10, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep: @Dr. Blofeld: A single hook may not be feasible. The hooks suggunder review have some issues. So it is better we suggest new hooks for each of the 16 articles but some hooks may be similar to the ones partly reviewed.--Nvvchar. 04:32, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep: @Dr. Blofeld: I have made changes in the text as per review except in a few articles mentioned below. I am suggesting the following hooks for each country. This could be recorded under the present review of each of the articles to maintain continuity. May also like to fix images in each hook.
Guinea Made changes in the text as per comment. I suggest this Alt hook ...that mining in Guinea includes 94 percent of Africa's mining of bauxite and holds sixth position of its world reserves?
Lesotho Instead of ... that diamond mining in Lesotho contributes virtually nothing to the country's economic growth? I suggest
... that the mining in Lesotho of diamonds has contributed to the economic growth of the country from zero percent to 4%?
Liberia Instead of ... that although 155,000 carats of diamonds are officially mined in Liberia annually, far more are smuggled illegally? I suggest the following ...that although 155,000 carats of diamonds were officially mined in Liberia in 2001 but far more were smuggled to neighboring countries illegally?
Madagascar Made changes in the text to “neglected” instead of “ignored”. New Hook suggestion is ...that in 2013, the Mining industry of Madagascar, a main source of foreign investment, was struggling due to "low metals prices and distrustful companies", attributed to a 2009 coup?
Malawi ... that the contribution of the mining industry of Malawi to that country's GDP may double between 2013 and 2023?
There is no dispute on this hook.
Mali Text modified in the article to include phosphates. The present hook should be changed to ALT1 ... that apart from gold and diamonds, the mining in Mali is also of rock salt, semi-precious stones and phosphates?
Morocco This hook is fine. ...that the mining industry of Morocco includes more phosphate production than any country save for the United States and China?
This reference [1] confirms that mining contributed up to 35% of exports and 5% of GDP in 2011 as per reference. I have made the correction. 75% reserves is correct as per this reference.
Senegal ... that the much of the mining done in Senegal is illegal? This hook is wrong as the text states “Illegal mining is prevalent in the country.”
I suggest the following alternate hook ...that the Government Senegal has planned to attract foreign investors and use mining to facilitate national economic growth by some 7%?
South Sudan This hook is Ok ... that a moratorium on licenses for mining in South Sudan was imposed in 2010?
Sudan ...that most gold mining in Sudan is done by artisanal miners?” can be modified as ...that gold mining in Sudan is also credited to a very large work force of artisanal miners?
Sentence in the text also needs to be changed suitably.
Swaziland This hook ...that the mining industry of Swaziland includes what may be the world's oldest iron mine? may be changed to ... that fiscal contribution from mining operations to Swaziland’s GDP is 2% and also accounts for 2% of export earnings?
Tanzania No change to this hook ...that airborne silica exposure in Tanzanian mines is more than three hundred times the limit set by NIOSH in the United States?
Tunisia No change of this hook ... that only the government of Tunisia is allowed to own mines in that country?
Uganda Instead of ... that in the 1990s, the mining industry of Uganda accounted for nearly half the country's revenue receipts? I propose this ALT1 hook ... that in the 1990s, the mining industry of Uganda revenues from mining increased by about 48%?
Please reply as you consider appropriate.--Nvvchar. 16:38, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing the heavy lifting. I replied last night on the nom page. Let's see what the reviewers suggest as the next step. --Rosiestep (talk) 13:28, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep: May like to post the above hooks now below each of the article.--Nvvchar. 03:53, 20 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Rosiestep:@Dr. Blofeld: It appears that the revised hooks I posted yesterday has not ended the controversy. I don't think I wish to proceed further with this nomination. You may like to consider withdrawing it in protest as we (probably me) seem to be targeted.--Nvvchar. 01:33, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
