About me

[edit]

Hi, I'm Dclemens1971. I'm here to create and expand articles and help ensure the high quality of the content here. My personal interests include religious architecture, biographies of religious leaders (mostly Anglican), religious organizations, National Register of Historic Properties listings, among others. I'm proud to have created two good articles: Christ Chapel (Hillsdale College) and Forest Building complemented by several photos taken when I visited those sites on recent trips. (Over at Commons, I've uploaded over 1,300 of my own photos and I spend a lot of time improving categorization to make it easier for Wikipedia editors to find photos that will improve the encyclopedia. My kids roll their eyes when I stop to photograph a random building on a road trip, but I've added several NRHP site photos that way.)

In 2023, I started participating in AfDs and enjoyed that process. It's helped me be a better content creator. I've benefited a lot from Wikipedia over the years, and so I spend a big chunk of my volunteering time on the site as a new page reviewer, articles for creation reviewer, and general AfD participant, helping to ensure the encyclopedia remains a high-quality resource for all. I particularly enjoy reviewing new pages outside of my own areas of expertise; I've learned a lot!

The Barnstar of Diligence
Hello, Dclemens1971,

I have reviewed thousands of AFDs after 4 1/2 years and I must compliment you on your deletion nominations which always report on the history of an article, a detailed run-down on many if not all sources with a clear indication that a thorough BEFORE has been done. Since I see quite a lot of AFDs that simply state "Fails GNG" or "Lacks notability" (and that's all they say), the AFDs you start help both inclusionists and deletionists have a place to begin to evaluate an article and its sourcing. Additionally, while many editors post an AFD and then never return, you come back to address questions and comments through the course of a week (or two) which is even less common, unfortunately. With articles you nominate, I know they have been given due process, no matter how the discussion closes. For all of this, you are awarded the Barnstar of Exceptional Diligence. Liz Read! Great work on creating the The Three Worlds of Evangelicalism article. Not many essays are individually notable but this one is and you did a good job explaining its significance. StAnselm (talk) 19:37, 31 December 2024 (UTC)

Disclosures

Earlier in my Wikipedia career I engaged in undisclosed paid editing on behalf of employers at the time, a choice I regret. Since becoming more active in the project in 2022 and becoming fully aware of the guidelines around conflicted editing, I have ceased editing any pages on which I have a conflict of interest or which relate to any employer, past or present.
