Date of birth
[edit]Ritter was born in 1902 as per Ancestry.com's Social Security Death Index. Just input "Ritter", then "Thelma" and submit at attached link. The result clearly states "14 Feb 1902" for date of birth. Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 11:31, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
There is often a heated argument that these two are or are not related. Should it be mentioned here? I'll also post this over on his board as well. My understanding is that there is no relationship, but I could be wrong. MagnoliaSouth (talk) 16:18, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Age of husband, Joseph Moran
[edit]The following is an abstract of a New Yorker article by John McCarten, dated July 6, 1957, entitled "Nice Pair in Town".
ABSTRACT: Talk story about an interview at Sardi's with Thelma Ritter who is playing Marthy in "New Girl in Town" & her husband, Joseph Moran, a vice-president of Young & Rubicam. Miss Ritter was late & Mr. Moran entertained with limericks since he is the uncrowned world champ at filling in last lines in advertising contests. Mr. Moran was born in Baltimore & had a scholarship at Johns Hopkins, & took a B.A. there in liberal arts. After college, he was offered a walk-on part in a local stock company & before long was a dedicated Thespian. He met his wife while playing stock in New Jersey. They have been married for 27 years and have 2 children 18 & 20. They live in Forest Hills
Several internet websites state that Mr. Moran was born in 1927, and this Wikipedia bio shows 1927 as their marriage date. But the New Yorker article would indicate that neither is correct.
