Production numbers

[edit]

According to Rod Simpson's 2022 General Aviation Handbook, construction numbers of the DR300 and DR400 are on a single sequence, starting at c/n 301 with the first DR300 and reaching c/n 2770 by mid 2021 - this would give 2470 built if there are no gaps in the sequence. It also gives 306 DR400s built by Robin between 2000 and 2020. Note that DR500s used a separate c/n sequence.Nigel Ish (talk) 15:32, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW: The Infobox on the French language page mentions "Nombre construit: 2 700 exemplaires au 30/06/2017" (2700 built by 30/june/2017) but without mentioning any sources. It does seem a very high number indeed. Jan olieslagers (talk) 15:35, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note that the numbers in Simpson 2022 refer to the DR300 and DR400 - it is unclear whether they include the DR340, DR330 and DR315.Nigel Ish (talk) 17:21, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it is all very vague. As long as no formal source for the magical figure of 2700 is given, it should be questioned, or even removed. If I may be excused: France and the French have a long-standing tradition and reputation for over-esteeming their own merits, great though they may be (the DR400 and its predecessors are great planes!); we really should insist on firm references. Robin's current website states 'more than 3,000' in the 1972 tab and 4,500 in 2017 but that is a total for all their types. Nimbus (Cumulus nimbus floats by) 18:45, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
