Page creator of United States Trade Representative?

[edit]

On your user page[1], you claim to be the page creator of United States Trade Representative, but the page data says that @Sekicho created the page on 11 July 2004, and there is no record here of you being the page creator. BBQboffingrill me 23:32, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It was a redirect until a couple of days ago when @ZebulonMorn turned it into an article. —Eyer (he/him) If you reply, add {{reply to|Eyer}} to your message. 23:35, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As I'm sure you can see in the page history, it was reverted to the Office of the United States Trade Representative in 2014 and then sporadically brought back a few times over the next decade, however, the page was primarily just the list of trade representatives and was reverted every time. I created the page mostly from scratch, but clearly still based off other cabinet offices for continuity. ZebulonMorn (talk) 23:36, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
From scratch? Most of the references are from 2021 and the table is cut-and-pasted, as is the "History" section. I'm not understanding why we suddenly need two separate pages for this. How is the United States Trade Representative separately notable from the Office of the United States Trade Representative? BBQboffingrill me 01:45, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's a Cabinet-level position that has new information and deserves its own page. This article describes the actual role of the Trade Representative, not the responsibilities of the office. I'm fine with removing some information from Office of the United States Trade Representative that has been moved.
Under this same theory, however, the Administrator of the Small Business Administration, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Director of National Intelligence, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, United States Ambassador to the United Nations, and many other elected and appointed officials' pages would have to be removed. They have the exact same level of importance and are equally as overlapping on information. ZebulonMorn (talk) 02:20, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia does not have pages for the Office of the Administrator of the Small Business Adminstration, Office of the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, etc. Unless you have some dynamite argument for why this is an exceptional case, I'm going to revert the split, and you can then argue on the talk pages, per policy, why the longstanding content would need to be split. BBQboffingrill me 02:28, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Small Business Administration, Central Intelligence Agency, Environmental Protection Agency, United States Mission to the United Nations, Office of the Director, etc are teh corresponding agencies. "Office of the United States Trade Representative" is the name of the government agency. ZebulonMorn (talk) 02:32, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I should point out Office of the Director was its own page until recently when it was moved under the new Director of National Intelligence ZebulonMorn (talk) 02:33, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not the dynamite argument I was hoping for. I reverted your changes. Please make your case on the Office of the United States Trade Representative talk page per WP:BRD. BBQboffingrill me 02:55, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I dispute this strongly. The offices are the same level in government and the corresponding agencies almost identical in overlapping information. ZebulonMorn (talk) 03:05, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You wanted to "fully block" me, you've reverted numerous well sourced edits and have not responded to well made points on some other reverted edits. Now, you're deleting my pages. This is definitely WP:Harassment. ZebulonMorn (talk) 03:10, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Editors don't WP:OWN pages we create (or in this case, copy-paste content from other pages to an existing redirect). This is a collaborative project to build an encyclopedia. If other editors agree that the best presentation of the United States Trade Representative material is to have it on two separate pages, then amen to that. That's the D in WP:BRD. You were bold, you got reverted, now go discuss, please, on the appropriate article talk page. BBQboffingrill me 03:42, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Jack Stanton

[edit]

Hello, ZebulonMorn,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Royiswariii, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Jack Stanton, for deletion, because it is a very short article that doesn't provide readers with enough context to determine who or what the subject is.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Royiswariii}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Dan Newlin

[edit]

Why didn't you contribute to the draft for Dan Newlin, when there was an obvious notice that a draft existed? It was not proper to create an article that had a pre-existing draft. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 05:07, 15 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Little Fishes Preschool has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability, no obvious redirect target.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
