Template:WikiProject Cricket/bchecklist

Would you mind taking a look at Template:WikiProject Cricket/bchecklist? I had forgotten about this and I don't think it's working with the new setup. Is it even needed anymore? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:14, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

I think it's fixed now. Added in the use of {{class mask/b}}. [1] -- WOSlinker (talk) 17:44, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Thunder userbox discussion

Just wanted to let you know that we are surveying wiki Thunder fans and experts on sports userbox formats to determine whether they want User:BillTunell's style incorporated into the userbox ({{User:UBX/NBA-Thunder}}), or want to use the standard version. If you you want to comment, hit the RFC discussion page here. Thanks. Tom Danson (talk) 19:53, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Highway infoboxes

If you're working on consolidating and eliminating redundant infoboxes in the US, there's also {{Infobox Maryland highway}}, which essentially passes all of it's parameters to {{Infobox road}}. A few parameters have different names, but otherwise it's the same template, with the state=MD parameter fixed. Just thought that I'd give you a heads up if you didn't know about it. No need to reply. Imzadi 1979  09:09, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll take a look later on. -- WOSlinker (talk) 09:10, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia:List of U.S. state portals

Please don't vandalize Wikipedia:List of U.S. state portals. I don't mind you suggesting templates for deletion, but please don't surreptitiously replace template invocations. Thank you, Buaidh (talk) 18:01, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Please do not accuse good-faith editors of being vandals. This far from helpful. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 18:06, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

WOS, I have grouped all those nominations together because it may save the same points being raised 24 times. Hope this is okay with you — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 18:13, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

That's fine. There are more similar templates in Category:Wikipedia Portal navflags that are unused or not used very much that could also be nominated but I though that those that I've nominated were enough to start with. Also, User:Rich Farmbrough seems to be doing a lot of work at the moment cleaning up their usage. -- WOSlinker (talk) 18:17, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
I still think we need a proper discussion about all these changes to portal templates. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 18:22, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

MY APOLOGIES! I did not notice that Template:Port had been redirected by User:MSGJ. I am very sorry. It would be nice if someone notified me about these significant changes. Buaidh (talk) 18:25, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Findbox

Hello. In reference to your deletion suggestion on Template:Findbox; a few years back there were lengthy and quite silly wars over userboxes. Eventually a decision was reached that if they were 'housed' in the User: namespace most of them would be ok. However, that resulted in various users putting various boxes on different pages and quite a bit of confusion as to where everything was located. I created findbox to help smooth the transition. Subsequently 'template:user <whatever>' became accepted as a 'pseudo namespace' for userboxes, most of them migrated there, and I updated my 'Babel' template to default to that assumption. Thus, the 'need' for findbox is well past and I don't see any problem with deleting it... and, in fact, have done so. --CBD 20:35, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Latin America

Hi! I am having a little problem in the article Latin America with editor SamEV about Brazilian demographics. The main article about Brazil explains that the "Pardo" population is a a broad category that includes sub-categories such as the Mullattoes, Caboclos (known as "Mestizos" in Hispanic-America) and Cafuzos (known as "Zambo" in Hispanic America). In the Latin America article there is a table that says that 39.1% of Brazilian population are "mulatto" when the correct should be "Pardo". I explained that carefully in the talk page (See Talk:Latin America#Conflict with editor SamEV) but editor SamEV not only ignored my remarks but insist on reverting all my edits. I also tried to reach his in his own talk page but he simply erased my message. That is not a helpful behavior of his. I should had simply requested to an administrator to block him per the 3 eevert rules and asked for an arbitration since his behaving as his owns the article. However, I want to avoid that since the issue is something very simple, that is, nothing more than to clarify the table that present Brazilian demographics. As it is know, it says that there are 0% Caboclos or Mestizos (the majority of the population in Northern Region, Brazil, Northeast Region, Brazil and Central-West Region, Brazil) and 0% Cafuzos or Zambos. Could you, please, share your thoughts about it in the article talk page? Thank you very much, --Lecen (talk) 10:43, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

I noticed that you have revised either Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri or Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire.

I intend to revise those articles following the Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Article guidelines. There are more details on the discussion pages of those articles. I'd be interested in any comments you have. It would be best if your comments were on the discussion pages of the two articles.

Thank you.

Todo

Did you mean to do this? Rich Farmbrough, 11:12, 9 June 2010 (UTC).

Probably not. I've undone it. -- WOSlinker (talk) 13:37, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
I think the reason I did it was due to me following the two transclusions when removing unused todo templates. These transclusions should probably be removed. -- WOSlinker (talk) 13:39, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

I see you attempted to redirect {{Navbox with images}} back in 2008, but it was reverted. Given that this template has only one transclusion on a talk page where it was never adopted, I would say we could probably propose this one at TFD. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 21:23, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer granted

You have been granted the 'reviewer' userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. –xenotalk 13:33, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks I am aware of them. Rich Farmbrough, 22:41, 9 June 2010 (UTC).

I noticed we are down to a small handfull of portal links now. Rich Farmbrough, 21:23, 16 June 2010 (UTC).

A tag has been placed on Template:Infobox road/WA/auxroute requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Would this be useful? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:24, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

I like it, but some might say that it begs the question as to whether there is a de jure standard... –xenotalk 13:26, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, well is 76.387802971071% not high enough to suggest that there is a standard? ... What's your view? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:04, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
My view is that WikiProject Foo should be the standard and is the de facto standard, but I also understand this view is not universally shared. –xenotalk 14:07, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Talkback

Hello, WOSlinker. You have new messages at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Malaysia.
Message added 04:08, 17 July 2010 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

"Normal table"

I see you've changed the tables at Template:Etymology/doc, Template:Etymology/Part/doc, Template:Sym/doc, Template:Enum/doc, and elsewhere, with ES of "Use normal table".

In what way do you not think {{table}} is a "normal table"?

Si Trew (talk) 19:24, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

The main disadvantage of the table template is when needing to add a row in the middle as then all the parameters need to be updated. Also, {{table}} is used on less than 350 pages where as the wiki-table syntax is used on a lot more. Unless there is a specific need to use the table template, why not use the more common option? -- WOSlinker (talk) 19:29, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
I just find the syntax easier for simple tables. When I started constructing tables, perhaps this was "lucky chance" that I found the template, but I had a feeling it was referred to in Help:Tables or a related topic. But I can't find it in there now.
Yes, the use of named parameters for the rows is a pain that leads to it to be difficult, or at least nontrivial, to reorder the table.
Generally, I like to use templates when they are available because one has a greater likelihood of conforming to the ever-changing style guidelines and so on – or at least if they do change, only the template needs to be fixed, not each individual article. I know other editors are far keener than I am to SUBST templates or claim they are redundant. Si Trew (talk) 06:46, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
I've only changed a few on some template pages as generally anyone editing template pages is going to be more experienced in wiki syntax. -- WOSlinker (talk) 07:36, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Infobox road and city streets

I see that you've been adding states to city street articles. This should not be done. 1) It triggers the infobox to display maintenance by the state DOT unless overridden. Most city streets are not maintained by the state since they aren't state highways. 2) It adds the links to the state highway system lists/articles, which should also not appear unless the street is part of the state highway system. 3) It shuts off the city display, because USRD's project consensus is not to display major cities, but USST articles can and do use it. 4) It uses the colored headers like state highways. Streets should not be using those so anyone who gets the color convention is not confused. The most appropriate thing would be to switch the city street articles to {{infobox street}}. Imzadi 1979  06:09, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

After I did the Chicago streets, I noticed a message about it on the IBR talk page, so I stopped doing the streets and instead did the highways and parkways. -- WOSlinker (talk) 18:00, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Template:Infobox football official 2

I think you should list this at WP:TFD. This isn't a move request. Fences&Windows 23:39, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

German highway infobox

I see that the Bundestrasse template was switched over and sent to TfD. Any chance you'll get to the Bundesautobahn one so that it can be added to the same TfD? Right now, the only other templates left not TfD/CSD tagged are in Ontario, India, Australia, and the British Isles. I've decided that for the time being, we should forget about converting the UK or Ireland. The colors were implemented for Canada today, so Ontario should be switched back at some point. There's an open FAC for an article in Ontario, so the template might not be completely orphaned until the FAC closes. As for the current American usages, I think we have that under control without making any major changes. About the only thing we need to do is flip any historic/scenic/park roadways to use the brown color headers. 21:14, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

I'll probably try and do it on Sunday. -- WOSlinker (talk) 21:18, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
I've now had an objection at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Germany/Transportation, so may not be able to do immediately now. -- WOSlinker (talk) 21:48, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Can you possibly redo the second template to recreate it as a translation template like the other one? Let me know if you need any help. Imzadi 1979  20:52, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Will do, though will proably not be until tomorrow. You should see about doing {{IRL motorway routebox}} next. It's only got a few transclusions. -- WOSlinker (talk) 22:07, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
I was thinking of holding off until Indian and Australia's proposals were made, approved and done. We're likely to see the same WP:OWNers from the UK boxes come to the discussion on IRL. Imzadi 1979  22:30, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Do you plan on doing South Korea soon? --Rschen7754 22:57, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I have a big problem with how the two templates were converted. They generally look good, but that junction list solution looks bad for three reasons. The dark blue makes it hard to see the link to expand the list. In both templates, the extra color for the list's header just looks out of place. Finally, it looks unprofessional to repeat the word "Junctions" when it's the label in the infobox. Can we strip that color out totally and remove the text? Would that allow just the link to show agains a white background? In the end, that collapsing list eventually needs to be removed because it breeches three sections of the Manual of Style, and the Germans will need to be encouraged to move the full list out of the infobox and leave a summary of the major junctions in its place in the infobox. Imzadi 1979  10:04, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
My test worked, but the usages on the Bundesstraßen will need correction. Imzadi 1979  10:10, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Concerning the Irish infobox, there's an issue that will complicate things. Their infobox is using "clickable" maps that embed an image map. I don't find it very useful, but you can scroll the mouse over the map of Ireland and click any other highway on the map. It looks like the infobox has a subtemplate that we could "borrow" as a feed into the |map= and set |map_custom=yes. There are Canadian articles that use a template to generate the map that way now. The problem is that someone will probably complain because the infobox handles all of that automagically with a |map=yes parameter. The benefit is that if we can modify the code from that subtemplate, we can make the maps bigger (IR uses 290px maps, IRL motorway infobox uses 180px maps and I can't tell a what's under my cursor on the map at that size). We might need to see if User:Sswonk would be willing to code something up as a proof of concept. Imzadi 1979  13:03, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

The map template at {{IRL motorway routebox/IRLroadsim}} could be moved to {{IRL motorway map}} (or something similar). Changing the size is very easy, although even at 290px, it's still difficult to read the marker images on the map. -- WOSlinker (talk) 15:41, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Substituted templates

As you are an expert of detecting substituted templates I thought I'd ask your opinion of Template:Proposed deletion which uses a new template Template:Subst check top. This method uses style="display:none;" to hide the output of the template, but this not does prevent categories being emitted. I wondered if there was potentially a better way to do this? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:37, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Possibly something like this may do it.
 |demo=<noinclude>yes</noinclude>{{#ifeq:<includeonly>{{subst:</includeonly><includeonly>substcheck}}</includeonly>|SUBST|yes}}
Haven't tested it yet though, can possibly do later on tonight or maybe tomorrow. Or you may be able to test yourself in the sandbox. -- WOSlinker (talk) 16:14, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I'll have a look, thanks. I've also been looking at {{issubst}}. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:50, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Duration template

Thank for your contribution to {{Duration}}. I had avoided numbered parameters, to hopefully reduce the likelihood of user error. Are you satisfied that that won't be an issue?

Also, in some of the examples in the /Doc page, zero values are missing the relevant HTML classes (compare the source HTML with that for the equivalent versions. Please can you make the necessary changes?

You may also be interested to know that the template is being discussed at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Microformats. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 18:46, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

I saw the comments at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Microformats about it being difficult to use the Duration template and thought that with using numbered parameters, it would make it a little easier to use as there would be less to type in each time it was used. -- WOSlinker (talk) 18:59, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
I can't see where the zero is missing. Which example is it? -- WOSlinker (talk) 19:07, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

I didn't say "zeros missing"; I said "zero values are 'missing the relevant HTML classes"; for example:

<span class="duration">0:<span class="s">34</span></span>
<span class="duration"><span class="h">1</span>:<span class="min">22</span>:00</span>

Maps

Fishguard looks excellent. Thanks! Note I only mentioned the possibility of a seperate infobox as Plastikspork said it would require a lot of hard work recoding UK place infobox. If you can see to it that all of Scotland is updated too this would be great, unless there are major objections of course. In due course I believe the map maker will make other maps showing road features/urban areas which can probably replace the existing maps but that will not require any template recoding of course in the infobox. Congratulations on being an admin too!! I'll remember you as a template guru, might relieve the pressure off Plastik and MCdetroit.. Dr. Blofeld 19:09, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

It didn't take very much work. I just had to re-arrange a few {{#switch:}} statements a little bit. -- WOSlinker (talk) 19:11, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

That's odd. Plastikspork must have wanted to spend the time eating spaghetti with one of his forks instead. Dr. Blofeld 19:13, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Edinburgh map is now updated please also update the infobox with it but there is an error with the Highland map see John o' Groats. You forgot the "Scotland" Highland bit. I can redirect Template:Location map Highland until you fix it. Dr. Blofeld 20:03, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Yeah that also needed updating.  Done We have more localised maps of Glasgow anyway. Dr. Blofeld 20:35, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Oh yeah England can be updated now actually. See User:Nilfanion/Maps. England maps now have window locators. Can you update them for the new maps? I'll need your help replacing them like this. For those concerned about raods/urban shading Nilfanion plans on creating those in a few weeks. When he does they can be switched quickly without having to reprogram the mapping coordinates. Dr. Blofeld 20:51, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps. I know I personally prefer details like File:Newport UK map roads and areas.svg, especially for places inland and I believe most editors think the rodas/urban area shading important. I believe Nilfanion's intention is to create maps like that for each county but I'm not sure the time frame. It could be months. When he does I think we should probably replace the entire UK with those maps, Wales and Scotland too. Other than that we could could create two different map templates like Template:Location map Scotland Renfrewshire blank and Template: Scotland Renfreshire detailed. Personally I think that would be a little unneccesary and would lead to inconsistency in other templates like churches.musuems etc. I don't mind spending a little time updating them although there is the possibility that some editors will object given that the current maps don't show roads. A deep feeling tells me you;re right, it would be best until we get the England set like Newport UK map roads and areas.svg. Dr. Blofeld 21:07, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Yeah I'll wait to see what Nilfanion has to say before changing them. Dr. Blofeld 21:22, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Any idea why the Scottish borders map isn't showing for Edgehead? Also something needs to be done about the Aberdeen and Dundee map. I recommend you remove te localised Aberdeen and the Dundee map from UK place as the scale is too big. That whole yellow area is the urban area and it looks odd a pin map within it. Can you remove Aberdeen and Dundee from the template and make it display Scotland instead? Note though I only mean Aberdeen not Aberdeenshire. Dr. Blofeld 18:33, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Fixed Edgehead with this. -- WOSlinker (talk) 18:48, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
I've changed it so that Aberdeen and Dundee show the Scotland map but other places within those areas still show those maps, for example Peterculter and Broughty Ferry. -- WOSlinker (talk) 18:57, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
That's perfect, Thanks. I've also suggested some infobox changes on the UK place box talk page, some of which may probably be rejected but some of which shouldn't be a problem. Dr. Blofeld 20:56, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Image/File-class

Hi, would you be able to take a look at the logic in Template:WikiProject assessment category check so that it prompts for the correct categories? For example Template:WikiProject Star Wars/class is incorrect. Thanks, the logic baffles me. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:55, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

It was actually Class mask/templatepage that needed changing. -- WOSlinker (talk) 12:41, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Okay thanks. I don't think that quite matches the complicated logic that we applied to Template:Class mask though. As long as it is possible to have File- and Image-class simultaneously, the file-image parameter approach is going to fail. But as this eventuality is never likely to occur, I guess it's not a problem ;) — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:00, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Samsung Galaxy Tab.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Samsung Galaxy Tab.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 23:53, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Portal Image

Hi, I just started a new portal and couldn't figure out how to set the image in Template:Portal/Images. I wanted File:Flat racing clipart.svg for Horse racing portal, if you wouldnt mind setting it or telling me how. Thanx Joe I 01:05, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

It needed to be added at Template:Portal/Images/Horse_racing, which I've done. -- WOSlinker (talk) 07:59, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Can you pause removing the links for a second. I feel there is no consensus yet on the project talk page. Basically, removing the links alltogether is not agreed on; they are supposed to go to the External links section. EdokterTalk 22:40, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Infobox road updates

TMF activated "Stage 3.1" of the revamp last night, which added support for different color schemes in the infobox through the Template:Infobox road/meta/colors subtemplate. Currently, there's only consensus to support different colors based on four principles: 1) compliance with WP:COLOR, 2) colors based on actual signage, 3) consistency across a country and 4) exceptions granted on the basis of logical arguments (not a simple "I want it that way"). As such, only Italy is using a green colored background on the headers in IR, which matches the shade of green from IIM. Colors based on signage are also implemented for the UK in the subtemplate, but WP:UKRD tends to be resistant to changing anything unless they're the ones to make the change. In discussions over MOS:RJL, the MOS section on formatting road junction lists, UKRD members refused to sign on to any revision of the guideline unless it explicitly allows their list format (it does if they move a column's position which they won't do) so I don't advocate any changes in the UK until last. Imzadi 1979  17:57, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

I was thinking about looking at {{Highway in Spain}} next. I've also done a suggestion over at {{Jct}} about adding a |country= parameter. -- WOSlinker (talk) 18:48, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
Commented on my talk. Imzadi 1979  22:05, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Can you give me a hand with the rest of the Malaysian conversions? I kinda Wikibonked in the middle of switching {{Malaysia state road routebox}} over. The problem with the state roads there is one of naming and numbering. The roads all have <State> State Route X# designations, but the articles are all named based on a Malay common name. For each state I run across that's new, I needed to add another type into the naming template, which I've set up to accept either the state's name, or the unique letter from the numbers assigned. (Each state has a different letter, usually the first initial of the name, that's used in front of a number.) Once a state is in the template, it's easy, but tedious. I left Malaysia to take a break last week and moved on to other countries, but I never got back to it. Imzadi 1979  21:36, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Can do. MYS needs adding to Infobox road/hide/destinations though. -- WOSlinker (talk) 22:28, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually, I've ended up starting on {{Malaysia road routebox}}. -- WOSlinker (talk) 08:54, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
{{Malaysia state road routebox}} is now all done. -- WOSlinker (talk) 16:20, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
{{Malaysia municipal road routebox}} is done as well. Will you CSD {{Malaysia road routebox}} when that's done? I've posted to WT:INR about converting to see if the project could be enlisted to help with India. That leaves the UAE and Iran left for Asia. Imzadi 1979  11:28, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Just a quick note here. Jeni said on IRC that she wouldn't oppose converting the UK over to IR if a photo parameter is added to IR. I've proposed conversion of {{infobox Australian road}} at that template's talk page without any comment. We just need to add the colors from IAR to IR from the table that's been archived at IR's talk page before or during that conversion. Where are we with the subtemplate for the clickable Irish maps for that potential switch? Imzadi 1979  19:25, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Australia is being converted. In the interim, I'm leaving the |photo= |caption= alone except to move any number change information to |history=. The current |route= is being deleted completely. If you're up for helping, your assistance is always welcome. Once we get the photo parameter turned on, that will complete the conversion, and we'll be ready to move on to the UK and Ireland. Imzadi 1979  21:19, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
You've changed the shade of green in your sig I see. I'll certainly help out with the conversions but not today, perhaps tomorrow. I'll also work on spliting out the Irish map into a separate template. I've also converted a few Irish roads that were'nt even using any infobox templates at all, just had a destination list in a box, for example R694 road. -- WOSlinker (talk) 21:50, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I didn't set it to this shade initially over a technical limitation. This is the official MUTCD color for US highway signs instead of the "green" I had before. I set up a personal signature template today, and my preferences now substitute it. Otherwise, the coding takes too many characters to create my facsimile of a highway sign for a signature. I might try to set it up to call the appropriate FHWA typeface for those of us Wikipedian roadgeeks that have it installed, if I can be sure it will default back to this for everyone else. TMF is working on the photo parameter here at some point, so it looks like we could be on track to finish this project by Labor Day, or thereabouts. Imzadi 1979  22:05, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
The Ireland maps are now separated at: {{IRL motorway map}} and {{IRL motorway map for Dublin}}. -- WOSlinker (talk) 09:03, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

I've posted a last call for comments at WT:UKRD and Template talk:Infobox Australian road concerning those conversions. I plan on working on them later today (Sept. 7) after I grab some sleep and run on a trip to the main public library downtown. (There's supposed to be a book that might prove valuable for some research on U.S. Route 16 in Michigan.) As for Ireland, since there's only 14 pages, and there doesn't seem to be any issue with your infoboxing the other Irish articles, I think we can just convert them over and be done. Since it's only 14, I'll probably do that before bed. Imzadi 1979  06:32, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

Can you update the colors meta template to fix the AM type for the UK? While you're editing it, set the UK default to the same black and white scheme as the A-minor type so that B/C/H/U/V types will default to it as well. Imzadi 1979  07:42, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Rschen has updated IR for the last issues (save one) that Jeni mentioned, and to fix something Jeni didn't mention before it was an issue. Feel free to help with the UK conversion. As for Australia, I'm not going to worry about that template until the UK is done, and then I'm planning on sending it direct to TfD for a discussion/decision. Template help

Hi WOS. I have a request. Can you fix Template:Navbox so that it supports more than 20 "groups"? Template:FCDW currently has 21 groups, but only the first 20 are showing up. Thanks in advance, Dabomb87 (talk) 03:07, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Please suggest, thanks (leave a talkback) KuwarOnline Talk 05:24, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
It could be for a number of different reasons. One reason could be that people temd to reply to topics that are of interest to them and another could be that someone who might have replied may not have noticed it as at the time when they read the ANI page, there were other topics below yours and they didn't notice it. You should try out my suggestion of adding a separate section to the article and see how that goes and if it doesn't workout, you could raise things again at ANI. -- WOSlinker (talk) 18:00, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
Sure, I will add another section and I will update accordingly. thanks for help KuwarOnline Talk 09:19, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Template:Valid&action=historysubmit&diff=388765653&oldid=318171326

I cannot correct it because it is fully blocked administratively. You have introduced a fatal error in it (missing ">" for noinclude before the documentation inclusion, when you moved the doc to its subpage).

A little help

Hey WOS! You recently closed a TFD. May I as how you did it? Did you use and subst: template? Because, recently I closed one too (my first TFD closure), but that by simply copying the codes/text from another closed template. Which I'm sure is a wrong way to go; I couldn't find a place where it tells how to close... Rehman(+) 13:59, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

The instructions are all at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Administrator instructions -- WOSlinker (talk) 14:22, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
You mean only admins can close TFDs? Rehman(+) 14:32, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
If the template needs deleting then yes, but if it's a no consensus, keep or merge (with a redirect for the other template) then can be closed by a non-admin. -- WOSlinker (talk) 14:40, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
I get it. Thanks for your time. Kind regards. Rehman(+) 02:00, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

IMDB name

Just curious, what is the logical purpose behind changing "IMDB" to "IMDB name"? What does it add? All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 08:15, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Its just that occasionally people use {{IMDB}} to link to a film rather than an actor and since IMDB redirects to IMDb name, so produces an incorrect link, hence it's helps to change occurences to IMDb name as then it makes it easier to spot the bad links and fix them by changing them to IMDb title. There's also {{imdb}} but there's far too many of those to do manually. See [2] for an example. -- WOSlinker (talk) 08:39, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Infobox soap character

I'm rather disappointed at how this discussion turned out. I'm not challenging your close, but is the fear of change further down the line really sufficient reason to oppose a merge? It surely can't be appropriate to maintain two variants of the same template merely to appease those who want to keep the extra fields and those who don't want them. PC78 (talk) 20:22, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Yes, it's a shame that it turned out this way. The inital discussion came from people using the #2 version and seemed to be heading towards a merge but then there was a few comments about all the different fields in #2 from some of the people who use the #1 version and then everyone started opposing the merge. I haven't really got any good suggestions on what to do next about it, but there aren't any easy routes. Probably best to leave it for now and find other templates that are easier to merge or replace to work on. -- WOSlinker (talk) 20:37, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm, would it be appropriate to add the extra fields to v2 anyway then make a case for redundancy of v1 further down the line? Or just another TfM that would be more explicitly for a full and complete merge in the hope that we could get people comment on just that and not other things? Either way, I agree that it would be best to revisit this at a later date. PC78 (talk) 20:47, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Best take is in small steps if you are going to try that. On #2, there's a duplicated field called Created by that should probably be merged. Another think that could probably be added to #2 is the Cause of death param from #1. After that, it would start to get a little more difficult. -- WOSlinker (talk) 20:51, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Template:Rquote, et al

The Afrikaans wikipedia has a shortage of templates, and when translating pages I find that I sometimes have to transfer these templates myself. With a template like the one in the title I don't know how to do it. It's apparently not exactly like copying an article page over, as there is the additional code part, which seems to be an extra page. Any advice appreciated. JMK (talk) 19:16, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

I tried copying over {{rquote}} to af:Sjabloon:Rquote without actually saving it and it looked fine in the preview. rquote doesn't seem to depend on any other templates that aren't already on the Afrikaans wikipedia site. So it this case, it just needs coping over similar to how you would do an article. -- WOSlinker (talk) 20:01, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Can you look again at your recent changes to this infobox, as they appear to have caused the date of birth field to disappear. This is necessary information. Thank you.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 11:38, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

That's for letting me know. I've fixed my mistake. -- WOSlinker (talk) 11:53, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

About this MFD, try not to invoke XFD unless you really have to. In this case, all that was needed to be done was to revert back to the first revision, which was a welcome and a warning to the user. The copypasta of the article was really more like a case of vandalism rather than something to delete. bibliomaniac15 05:09, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Is this template now using microformats for death dates? PC78 (talk) 16:48, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Well, I've added a dday class. There's nothing in the current spec for date of death. dday would just be ignored by readers just implementing the spec. It doesn't hurt to add it though. See also [3]. -- WOSlinker (talk) 17:09, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
I only ask with regard to {{Disappeared date and age}}, for which a dday class would not be appropriate. Perhaps the redirect of that template should now be undone? PC78 (talk) 17:14, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Good idea. I've done that. The redirect for {{Disappeared date}} should be changed into a template as well. -- WOSlinker (talk) 17:46, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Since Image:Ambox clock.svg is licensed as public domain, I can remove the link from the image wiby adding the |alt=|link= so the image is no longer clickable. Image:Crystal Clear app clock.svg is not public domain, so if that image is used then |alt=|link= can't be added. -- WOSlinker (talk) 12:27, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

But in a nutshell, he is way-wrong on this and I hope you keep an eye on how things progress on the Template talk:Val#Val is now screwed up-page. In a nutshell, my response to Verdy p was as follows:

Please see Template talk:Val is now screwed up. In a nutshell, the BIPM and the NIST and every other standards organization uses a last group of four digits so as to never leave a single hanging digit. By wide consensus, Wikipedia follows that practice and does not want a house style that flouts international conventions. Links are provided on the page.

Greg L (talk) 18:43, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

I don't have any objections with your wanting to edit {{Jct}}, but I just wanted to let you know about {{Roadlink}}, which I created to use along side Jct when it's not appropriate to include route markers. The syntax is roughly the same, but the codebase is much simpler:

{{Jct|state=AL|AL|1|city1=Birmingham}}

SR 1 – Birmingham

{{Roadlink|state=AL|AL|1|in=Birmingham}}

SR 1

So, anything that's done to Jct should be done to Roadlink so there's no loss of functionality. –Fredddie 01:50, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Just looking at {{Jct}} and wondering if there really is a need to switch off the shields individually with the noshield1, noshield2, etc. params or if single noshield param would of more use. Roadlink would then be changed into just a wrapper template that uses Jct with a noshield=yes param.
Also, the noshield options in Jct don't seem to work with the plates.
{{jct|state=DE|DE-Bus|1}}

DE 1 Bus.
{{jct|state=DE|DE-Bus|1|noshield1=yes}}
DE 1 Bus.
-- WOSlinker (talk) 21:06, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
There is a point. Sometimes you have two or more concurrent highways at an intersection, but not all of them are signed. In that case, the a marker or two needs to be shut off. (Take the occasion of I-296/US 131 where I-296 hasn't been signed in 30 years. ) Imzadi 1979  21:13, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Ok. Global noshield & nolink colud be added though, while still keeping the individual numbered versions as well. -- WOSlinker (talk) 21:18, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
There's now a noshield param in Jct. Are the in/at/near parameters in the Roadlink template used anywhere? -- WOSlinker (talk) 18:35, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
List of Iowa state highways, for one. Probably on the other pages that use Roadlink as well. I think I was only person using the template, but I could be wrong. –Fredddie 00:43, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
I've done a version in {{Roadlink/sandbox}} which uses the Jct template. -- WOSlinker (talk) 07:54, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Wow, that looks slick. I'm on board. –Fredddie 20:34, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
I've changed it over now. Had to tweak jct slighly more to remove some leading spaces. -- WOSlinker (talk) 21:00, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

OK, I'm starting to wonder if this was the right decision. When I created this, I tried to make it as simple as possible so it wouldn't trigger the expensive parser functions category like {{Jct}} does. Now that Roadlink uses Jct, wouldn't that exacerbate the expensive parser functions issue? –Fredddie 21:32, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Can you update the WP:WASH page to remove the reference to the 3dwa template, and add the new templates you have created? Thanks! --Admrboltz (talk) 21:36, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

I've updated that page. I haven't quite done all the 3dwa templates yet but will do soon. -- WOSlinker (talk) 22:00, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks a bunch. Why the change anyways? --Admrboltz (talk) 22:02, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
The 3dwa template isn't using the sandard {{Navbox}} template and also if you click on one the vde links it takes you to the 3dwa rather than the individual route templates, so takes a bit more tracking down to find where to make changes when needed but the main reason is that it is using some of the Infobox road subpages, such as Template:Infobox road/WA/shield I when there is no real need to. So I thought I'd create some new versions to solve those issues. -- WOSlinker (talk) 22:08, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
Works for me. Don't worry about tagging them for USRD, I can when you are done with them all, then I don't know, I am OK with deleting 3dwa as Housekeeping CSD, but if you feel we need to TfD it, then that's what we will do. --Admrboltz (talk) 22:10, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Could you extend that functionality to all of the categories? The test cases page for the USRD template is triggering some error categories when it should not. No rush on this, just a desire to clear out those categories. –Fredddie 00:38, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

All done. -- WOSlinker (talk) 01:09, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, that was quick. –Fredddie 01:17, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Hello, WOSlinker. You have new messages at Imzadi1979's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Whenever you get bored, I could use some help with another banner. {{WikiProject Highways/sandbox}} has been updated to set up for 5 regional taskforces. I think everything there is fine, but I haven't figured out with it how to get it to generate taskforce-level importance categories. Once that's solved, the template can be updated with the taskforces. Imzadi 1979  01:16, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
I've added individual importances for each taskforce set by parameters. See [4]. Also, the taskforces are not visible in the banner as the TEXT params are set to none. Is this correct? Another thing that can be done is to inherid the main importance if the individual importance params are not set. Would that be useful? -- WOSlinker (talk) 09:43, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you. I was fumbling around on that one. I have the display text set up and the TFs are inheriting the main importance. Now I just need to find some appropriate graphics to use at some point, but I think we can deploy it as is. Imzadi 1979  09:53, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Ok, I was going to do something, but you totally rewrote how the template works, so I can't. {{Canada Roads WikiProject}} needs something added so that we categorize all of a province's articles into one master category. It would be an analog to Category:Michigan road transport articles. Thoughts? Imzadi 1979  06:26, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

I've done this. Hope that's ok. -- WOSlinker (talk) 10:16, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Also created the categories. -- WOSlinker (talk) 10:25, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Templates in image categories

Hey, could you look at Category:Wikipedia files with unknown copyright status as of 7 December 2010 and Category:Wikipedia files with unknown source as of 7 December 2010 and figure out why the templates that these images are tagged with are showing up in the categories. Cheers, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:51, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

On those templates /docs pages, there was {{File deletion template notice}}. I've removed that and they are no longer in those categories. -- WOSlinker (talk) 07:19, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Much appreciated. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:40, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Template:The Bill Series Summary has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Thank you. Neelix (talk) 21:31, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

WPbox

I just noticed that this list is very similar to this nomination, in that they are all essentially just passing parameters to {{WPbox}}. One could replace, for example, {{Arctic WPbox}} with {{WPbox|Arctic}}. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 23:57, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

WPBox currently uses Portal/Images/* but it should really have it's own set of image templates at WPBox/Images/* . -- WOSlinker (talk) 07:20, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Multiple issues

I tried to add a tracking category to {{Multiple issues}} but the category seems to catch all pages. Can you please check? -- Magioladitis (talk) 09:34, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

It was an extra {. See [5]. -- WOSlinker (talk) 10:16, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! -- Magioladitis (talk) 10:25, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

KosovoMountainCoord template

HI there, you deleted my Template:KosovoMountainCoord that i spent some time working on and still am using, can you please restore it to my userspace? I was using it here User:Mdupont/GNSNames/WithElevation/Above2000 thanks James Michael DuPont (talk) 07:20, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

I've restored it to User:Mdupont/KosovoMountainCoord. -- WOSlinker (talk) 07:24, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
thank you very much, I still have to add in all those mountains!! James Michael DuPont (talk) 08:59, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Templates

Dear WO, I noticed you put for deletion the following templates: template:Normandy, template:Brittany, template:Kingdom of France, template:New Spain, and template:Franco-Americans. Here's the problem; if you eliminate those, the banner carrying the portal name will disappear, and all the articles they were placed in and related to them will disappear as well. I see that template:Finland, template:England, template:France, template:Cornwall, etc., still all exist, so I don't understand why this is being labelled unused, when it fact they are being used?--Chnou (talk) 14:34, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

Those templates you mentioned are not portal templates. I didn't lable the templates are unused, just labled them for discussion as a better alternative exists. The templates you created are the same as just using the portal template with a parameter. See:
Code Result Code Result
{{Normandy}} {{Normandy}} {{Portal|Normandy}}
{{Kingdom of France}} {{Kingdom of France}} {{Portal|Kingdom of France}}
{{New Spain}} {{New Spain}} {{Portal|New Spain}}

-- WOSlinker (talk) 14:45, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your quick response! Does this mean that by placing after and important article relating to it, like William the Conqueror, the portal of Normandy will show up without having the template:Normandy? If so, then the template should be changed to reflect what exists in for example template:Cronwall or template:Finland. Would that be correct? Thank you for your cooperation!--Chnou (talk) 15:17, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

As an example, I've updated the Norman writers article with this edit and it now just uses the Portal template. It will still work if the Normandy template is deleted. -- WOSlinker (talk) 15:39, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you so much!--Chnou (talk) 06:32, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you

Infobox MLB player

Hello WOSlinker. Sorry for my english, I had to translate on google.

I imported this template from the English wikipedia, but I failed trying to insert the word Estadísticas in the statistics section as you can see the diference here and here. Could you try to insert it for me, thanks--Inefable001 (talk) 00:10, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Already resolved. Thanks anyway--Inefable001 (talk) 03:33, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Broken Privacy International template

Just to let you know that your recent edit to Template:Privacy International/Privacy index has broken it in the cases when it is transcluded. Changing the colour subtemplate calls from {{ccffcc}} to {{/ccffcc}} does not work that way, but I cannot see a way to get what you want. Could you look for a solution to this please, or otherwise revert your changes? -84user (talk) 17:11, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

I have an idea, but not tested: create Template:bgr (or similar unused short abbreviation) that takes a colour parameter and expands it to "||bgcolor='#CCFFCC' style='color:#000000;' align='right'|" (replace CCFFCC with {{{1}}}), then change each of the {{/ccffcc}} (etc) in Template:Privacy International/Privacy index to {{bgr|ccffcc}}. If this works then {{bgr}} might be generally usable for such background colour "styles". -84user (talk) 17:24, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

I've reverted my changes. Will have to take a look at doing something neater later on. -- WOSlinker (talk) 19:19, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Talkback

Hello, WOSlinker. You have new messages at Template talk:WPBannerMeta/hooks.
Message added 21:32, 11 January 2011 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Thanks a lot! I still have one issue though. Maybe you can help. Codrin.B (talk) 21:32, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello WOSlinker. I just wanted to let you know that the IMDb templates were updated sometime in the last year or so. When used for a film title you still need to have the word "title" in the link thus {{IMDb title|0012345}}. You have been doing this correctly so I am just putting it here as an example. However, when it comes to actor articles you no longer need to put in the word "name" as that is the default for the template. Thus, {{IMDb|0012345}} will link to the IMDb page for a given actor just fine. Don't get me wrong there isn't anything wrong with adding "name" if you want to. But, since you don't have to I just wanted to save you time to let you edit in other areas if you wish. Cheers and keep up the good work that you do here. MarnetteD | Talk 20:26, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Oops, forgot to mention that you may already be aware of this and if so please accept my apologies for taking up your time. MarnetteD | Talk 20:27, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
It's just that sometimes people use {{imdb}} for links to films which then don't work or link to an actor instead, so rather than just pick out the title ones that need fixing, I fix those title ones and then update the rest to use the imdb name link instead of just imdb, so that next time, I don't need to look though them all again. Some examples: [6], [7]. There are only a few links directly to the imdb redirect - see [8]. -- WOSlinker (talk) 20:34, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
I see what you are getting at. That can be a help, especially for new users. Of course, one of the banes of wikiP (IMO) are editors who add a link, internal or external, and then don't click on it to ensure that it goes where they meant it to. Oh well, if they did then there wouldn't be as much work for a wikignome like me to do. Thanks for the update and continued happy editing. MarnetteD | Talk 20:44, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello! Brazilian people love U.S. citizens. Many flights from TX, CA, FL, NY, and GE to Brazil exists. You are very welcome. Because will generate a heavy traffic on these pages, and we need you to help in the English spelling of these pages, you understand me? Please help me. Hentzer (talk) 23:00, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Help! I have a < div > problem

Hi, can you take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Turtles/to do, it works fine on it's own but when added to the WPBannerMeta template and used on article talk pages. It causes pages with a TOC to put the TOC in the template. See Talk:Painted_turtle for example. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 14:57, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

It was the h3 tag. I've fixed it with this edit. -- WOSlinker (talk) 15:52, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! Regards, SunCreator (talk) 15:58, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Barnstar instructions template

The last edit you made to Template:Barnstar documentation somehow goofed up the signature part, such that it is now displaying your name and timestamp, even with the nowiki tags. I'm not sure how to fix it other than undoing your last edit, so I thought I'd let you know so you can try to figure out how to preserve your most recent changes but correct the issue. Thanks. Torchiest talkedits 00:34, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

I'd just noticed it myself and undone my last edit. Thanks for pointing it out. -- WOSlinker (talk) 00:35, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

TfD

Could you please correctly close this? I un-closed it because the deletion never actually happened. — This, that, and the other (talk) 09:13, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

I have this crazy idea, but in reading the code, I'm muttering expletives. I'd like to add a parameter that if activated adds File:Airport Sign.svg at 20px, |alt=|link= after the last shield in the series. That way when the airport is named as a destination on the guide sign with the icon, {{jct}} could display it at the end of the icons. Imzadi 1979  05:18, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

NY 100 / NY 119 (Tarrytown Road)
Got it working in the sandbox just for two juctions at present. Will add option for 1,3 & 4 junctions later on as I've got to go out now. -- WOSlinker (talk) 08:00, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Cool, that's just what I was hoping to see. Thanks. Some templates I can wrap my head around and others bring out language my mother should never hear me use. :) Imzadi 1979  08:30, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
NY 100
NY 100 / NY 119 / NY 19
NY 100 / NY 119 / NY 19 / NY 55
1,3 & 4 are now ready. Just wondering though if the param should be |airport=yes or |extra=airport which might be better if further different icons are wanted later on. -- WOSlinker (talk) 19:05, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
I would probably say |extra=airport. --Admrboltz (talk) 19:34, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
I, too, like |extra=airport. It seems the most adaptable for the unforeseen future. –Fredddie 23:42, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Count me in as a third for |extra=airport. Then we can eventually add train station or other intermodal icon support if needed/desired. Thanks for helping figure this one out! Imzadi 1979  06:15, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Changes are now live. The airport icon is an a separate template at Template:Jct/extra. -- WOSlinker (talk) 08:06, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I do question the need to lock it down. I understand the concerns, but there are other subtemplates that are not locked down. Perhaps back it down to no-IP level (can't remember what it's called)? –Fredddie 08:18, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
I just locked it down because most of the other were as well. I've reduced the lock down level now to semi-protected. -- WOSlinker (talk) 09:44, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Highland maps

Hi. I've filed a request for an Isle of Skye pin map and also one for the districts of Highland. Nilfanion however mentioned the wards which have existed since 2007 but these differ from the historical counties. Can you discuss it with Nilfanion which divisional maps we could do with? I just think the Highland region is so large is would be good to have sub locator maps. A window locator will show where in Scotland it is anyway.Blofeld Dr. (talk) 00:15, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
