[edit]Good job on writing this! Sadly, it seems that neither student nor professor is taking any notice of what anyone on Wikipedia is telling them. --jbmurray (talk • contribs) 08:31, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yup, kudos. I'm mystified by the classes and professors lack of interaction too. --Bfigura (talk) 16:21, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Longy School of Music (Future of Classical Music) & Berklee College (Vision of Music's Future)

Thanks from Longy
[edit]Your reputation in Longy's 2008 Future of Classical Music class preceded you even before you made your debut yesterday. I appreciated your welcoming the new contributing students and pointing them in the right directions!Ijmusic (talk) 20:26, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks also from this Longy student. It was really exciting to see your improvements on the page I created (MLT) and witness the Wikipedia process in action! I'm now starting on my summer project which is editing the Dalcroze page. Incidentally, I recently read a fascinating article in JAMS (2002, vol.55, no.3) about Monteverdi and language for musical theater. The author, Mauro Calcagno, approaches the subject through linguistics. Seeing your interest in opera and linguistics, I wonder if you have ever come across this article.J. New Newbies
[edit]Back again: a new crop of Futurists, these from Berklee College in Boston, position themselves for a launch! If you had the time and energy, we'd be most grateful for any help you could offer. I will link them to your excellent instructions and suggestions from Longy last fall; but there's always more to know.Ijmusic (talk) 18:25, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you very much! The Berklee students and I greatly appreciate your helping us become Wikipedians. I will fix the affiliations of both the user pages as you suggested. Ijmusic (talk) 18:17, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
- Arggh! Or should I just *sigh*. One works: <user:Ijmusic/Futureclass>! Unfortunately, I created the new page for <user:Ijmusic/Vision of music's future> before I should have; we both know what happened then. You were more than kind to offer to do the honors--I wanted to be able to do it myself.
- Having devised a quick 'n' dirty, I'd prefer not to retain the inelegant <user:Ijmusic/Vision of music's future-Berklee>, but I will you advise me to. With thanks, dear VdT, Ijmusic (talk) 22:37, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
Ksbaryton saying Hello
[edit]Dear Voceditenore, Thank you for the Wikipedia welcome on my user page. I have consulted the links you sent me have attempted to create my first wikipedia entry on composer, David Noon. I want to make it the best I can, so any advice for properly cleaning it up would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for the help and for the continued support of Longy students! Most Sincerely, Ksbaryton (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 06:22, 30 November 2010 (UTC).
Ksbaryton, on Noon
[edit]Hello, Voceditenore! Thank you for the advice on the works list for David Noon. I was actually signing on this morning to ask you about that very topic. I DO want the list up there, so I will take the time to make sure it is formatted correctly. Dr. Jackson had suggested that since the list is on the longer side, I may want to create a separate page for it. Do you think that would work better? I am on the fence as it is nice to have two pages so that the bio page isn't so long, but Dr. Noon isn't as large a profile composer as say John Adams, so it may be nice to have all the information on one page. Thank you again for your help and suggestions!--Ksbaryton (talk) 15:58, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Following Up
[edit]You are a fantastic person! I can not tell you how much your help means to me. David Noon is a former professor of mine, and I really enjoy his works. Thank you for your advice and suggestions!--Ksbaryton (talk) 19:37, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you
[edit]I just wanted to thank you for all your help in helping me get started on the Christian Lauba page I created. All of your suggestions have made my page look extremely professional, and the time and energy you put into this project have made my experience on Wikipedia a good one. Your help enables an entire generation of aspiring musicians to become happy and gratified members of the Wikipedia community. From all of them, and from yours truly, this token of our thanks, dear VocediTenore, for your tireless efforts on our behalf. Ijmusic (talk) 22:04, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
- Responded here (Star now here) Voceditenore (talk) 17:48, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Hello again - Thank you for the great input, the only thing I have a problem with right now is adding a picture onto the Christian Lauba page. The reason why is because I'm asking around for permission for the pictures that I have found all over the internet, and I don't get a response from anyone. I'm trying to figure out Christian Lauba's email so he can possibly send a picture of himself that doesn't have copyright. Where is the best webpage to search for his email address, so I can get a direct picture from him? MatthewKim927 (talk) 05:04, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Matthew. I don't really know where you could look, unfortunately. The Bordeaux Conservatory doesn't seem to publish an email address anywhere, only phone or fax. But even if you do get hold of him, the process of getting and documenting the permission is quite complicated. For example, with professional photographers, Lauba himself wouldn't hold the copyright, the photographer would and the photographer would have agree to releasing his photo for anyone to use (not just Wikipedia) without ever having to pay him/her royalties. They usually don't want to do that. I think your best bet, although it's a long shot, is to post on saxophone forums and see if anyone has snapped Lauba at a concert and is willing to donate their picture (and of course go through all the rigamarole of writing their donation email to Wikipedia). Best, Voceditenore (talk) 20:14, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
Coming your way
[edit]Dear VdiT, If you can bear it, a new round of AWEs (Aspiring Wikipedia Editors) is coming your way from Berklee College of Music. We will make every effort to heed your good advice from past years. Hoping you're well, Ijmusic (talk) 00:04, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hi IJ. Nice to see you again! I'm sometimes travelling in July, but will certainly look in your brood when I'm here. I've also added some info about images to the Futureclass talk page, which your students might find useful. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 13:58, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Greetings!
[edit]Hello, it's ksbaryton from Dr. Jackson's Futureclass! I am returning to work on my Wiki article on David Noon after a crazy spring semester. I was wondering if I could show you my updates over the next month or so, in an effort to improve my page with your wisdom. I hope to not be too big of a bother for you, I just really want this page to be successful in serving this composer. Thanks so much! ksbaryton Ksbaryton (talk) 17:08, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks, VdT, for welcoming this year's Longy students so warmly. Some were a little taken aback at the speed with which you found them (not that they hadn't been warned). Hope you're well. Ijmusic (talk) 23:57, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
Citing Personal Correspondence with Composer
[edit]Dear Voceditenore, I am part of the Fall 2011 Future of Classical music class, and am working on expanding the article on composer Richard Wernick. Looking at his Grove article and various news articles, there are still some areas that I thought he could fill in for me via email correspondence (e.g. more info on his studies, more on film composing career). However, I am unsure about how to cite correspondence on Wikipedia- how do I do this, and does the text of the correspondence need to be generally accessible (i.e. posted elsewhere online)? Thank you and best wishes Slinnger (talk) 23:32, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Thanks and article review request
[edit]Dear Voceditenore, thank you for all your help so far on my Richard Wernick article. You have been very helpful to everyone in Future of Classical Music! I have uploaded my most current version of my article; if you could look it over, that would mean a great deal to me. Also, is there a way to remove the article's stub classification now that it is a bit lengthier? Slinnger (talk) 01:43, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

- Thank you to all of you! It's been a pleasure to watch the progress of Professor Jackson's classes since he started the Futureclass project four years ago, and I have to say this year's has been the best one yet. Wikipedia now has six new articles thanks to you, and in an area that is noticeably under-represented in Wikipedia's actually useful stuff. I've learned a lot from all of you too... about musicians and composers in an area far from the dusty corners that I usually edit in. You've all been great sports—it's not easy for new editors here, especially when they have to jump in at the deep end as you did. Best wishes to all of you and enjoy your well-earned Christmas holidays. Voceditenore (talk) 11:13, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- You really know how to encourage your fans! Thanks for validating the students' efforts and for contributing to the success that each enjoyed. We are particularly honored that you deem our stuff actually useful! Your message to Matt Kim about Lauba's image will help next year's aspirants. Ijmusic (talk) 00:27, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Richard Wernick article image marked for speedy deletion
[edit]If you could provide advice on how to contest the speedy deletion, or what type of permission I would need to do so, that would be wonderful. I've described what I have done to receive permission on the image talk page: File_talk:RichardWernick.tif Thank you! Slinnger (talk) 05:39, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
(Edit 2/28/12) Thank you for your speedy and resourceful help, as always. I will be in contact with Presser to see if I can get a more license that includes free use. Best, Slinnger (talk) 14:41, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Might we impose again this year?
[edit]Dear VdT, The Vision of Music's Future class has reconvened at Berklee again this summer, smaller and, I believe, better. Might we impose upon you to help a fresh crop of newbies? Hope you're well. Yours, Ijmusic (talk) 20:06, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi IJ, great to see you again! I'll be happy to help and will be around for almost all of July this year. I've got the class page on my watchlist and will nip over there as soon as the students do. I'll be away for all of August, but hopefully they'll be off to a good start by then. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 13:52, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

- Thank you, VdiT. I saw that you had visited our first newbies, though I don't quite understand what you wrote me about links. - Hi IJ. No, I won't be in Boston. I'll be in deepest darkest Tuscany. :) The links I added allow me to see each student's edits to Wikipedia with one click. Longy redux
[edit]Dear VdiT, This autumn's Longy class, my best ever, begins their Wikipedia projects soon. May we impose upon you again, or would you prefer that we hit the Teahouse, which was a big help for the Berklee students this summer--though those who got their work done early very much appreciated your kind help. Welcome back! Yours, Ijmusic (talk) 23:07, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
- Hi IJ! Great to hear from you again. Yes, I'll be happy to help with the Longy students. I couldn't do much for the Berklee crowd as I was away in August and had computer problems in September. I'm glad they found the Tea House useful, though. I'll keep an eye out for your new brood. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 12:24, 26 October 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Voceditenore!
Thank you for your careful review of my article and all the help that you provided Future Class. My article has been taken down due to notability issues. However, I have so many scans of newspaper article articles in which the Solati trio has appeared. You had told me previous that these articles were cherry picked but they give my article notability. How shall I include the articles in a way that is acceptable?

[edit]Dear VdiT, What happened to the Wikipedia article on kitsch? Once long, it's been reduced to a single page plus an invitation to enjoy its machine-translated Portuguese equivalent. Any ideas? Yours, Ijmusic (talk) 00:22, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- Hi IJ. From looking at its history [3], it seems various tangents, trivia, and poorly referenced original research (in the opinion of some editors) have been removed along the way, with a major whacking of the history section last January [4]. See Talk:Kitsch/Archive 2#NPOV and citations for the discussion. This is the version pre-whacking, enjoy! Best, Voceditenore (talk) 06:21, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, VdiT! I now see that, if I'd searched more diligently, I could have found the answer, especially since it was this year! Question about images
[edit]Hello Voceditenore. I hope you are well. I'm wondering if you could offer any advice about some difficulty I'm having. I want to post an image to the page for SORNE. I contacted him and he gave me an image that he said I could use. He said that it is his property and I'm free to use it. This doesn't seem to meet the requirements, however, for Wikipedia's proof of legality. It asks for me to give a web address that shows that the image is legally free to use. I don't know of one and Morgan Sorne wasn't able to tell me where I could find that either. I also don't know the date that it was created and I don't think that Morgan has that record either. It seems very difficult to get an image on here. Any advice on this or am I just at a dead end? Thank you, DEL1025 —Preceding undated comment added 19:45, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hi DEL. Yes, the process of getting photos onto Commons if you haven't taken them yourself is very complicated. Longy in the Spring
[edit]- Note to self: the "Longy Archives" are here. Voceditenore (talk) 10:51, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
Dear Voceditenore, Longy offers my course in the Spring now. May the students and I impose upon your kindness this semester? We'd be grateful if we might. With hopes that you are well and not feeling too soggy after your record winter rains. Yours, Ijmusic (talk) 02:25, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hi IJ! I'll be happy to keep an eye on your brood, as always, although I'll be "away from desk" from April 1–23 with very limited internet access. When are their assignments due? All the best, Voceditenore (talk) 10:56, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hi VdT! Thanks for your gracious response. We're just coming off our Spring Break, hence my delayed reply. Although our deadline falls during your "away" period, your initial greeting always encourages each student, as do your kind follow-ups. More anon. Ijmusic (talk) 21:25, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hi IJ. How disappointing that I'll be away! I love working with your Longy class. When I get back, I'll look in on their finished products with great interest. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 17:28, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
- Buon viaggio, dear VdT, and thanks for your message. I appreciated your welcoming the students so warmly and so personally. With any luck, finished products will greet your return. Yours, Ijmusic (talk) 22:20, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
- Welcome back, VdT. When you're able, would you explain to us what's going on with Kangsax's additions to the Culture of the People's Republic of China? For reasons that I do not understand, Bgwhite summarily deleted virtually all of Kangsax's extended post of 20 Apr 14. Would I be mistaken in holding that a new editor's efforts deserve better treatment, or is there another issue involved? Hope you had a good break. Yours, Ijmusic (talk) 18:24, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
- I responded on my talk page. Bgwhite (talk) 21:53, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

From Sammo: new article on Copland's Symphony for Organ and Orchestra
[edit]Dear Voceditenore, Thanks for contacting me on my talk page! I have started a new article for Dr. Isaiah Jackson's Future of Classical Music course at the Longy School of Music. Here is the draft: Symphony for Organ and Orchestra (Copland). I have no specific requests for help at this time, but I will let you know when the article is submitted. Thanks, Sammo (talk) 01:02, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
Thank You Very Much!
[edit]Dear Voceditenore,
Thank you very much for welcoming me to Wikipedia and to the Wikipedia pages of Ijsounds and The Future of Classical Music class! I am pleased to make your acquaintance, and I hope to write a substantial article or a section for this class with integrity and without any bias, unprofessionalism, or malice.
Sincerely,

Hello!
[edit]Hello Voceditenore,
I hope I am using your talk page correctly-- I am just getting started and this is the first post I am writing on wikipedia. Thank you for your warm welcome to the community and the resources you've sent my way. I really appreciate it and may be in touch to ask questions!
Best, Keacord (talk) 23:16, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

Any Ideas?
[edit]Hello! Thank you for all you do. I need to write an article based around classical music. Something, someone, somewhere, some time, that needs a wiki article. Any ideas? Snaudrey (talk) 03:08, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Snaudrey! I've moved your message here to the bottom of the page—the wiki way. :-) Will visit your talk page later today with some ideas. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 07:38, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
Any ideas?
[edit]Hello! thank you for all you do! I need to write a wiki article which revolves around classical music. Someone, something, somewhere, or some time, that needs a page. Any ideas? Snaudrey (talk) 06:11, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
great list!
[edit]thank you so much for that list. I had an idea going through it, and I wanted to run it past you and see what you think. What if I did my article on you. Not specifically who you are, but what you do, since when, why, maybe a bit of background, you deserve a page! what do you think? Snaudrey (talk) 07:00, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
- Yikes, Snaudrey! I'm not even a notable Wikipedian, let alone a notable person in real life. So no, that is totally not feasible . Have you thought about doing a biography of Georges Longy? I think it's awful that his name is still red-linked. I'll leave you some sources on your talk page in case you're interested in pursuing that. If not, you can share them with any of your classmates who might be interested. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 12:36, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
okay, okay
[edit]Alright, I see what you are saying. it was just a fleeting idea of a moment, although I will say you are way too modest. As for your suggestion about Longy, my colleague is already in the process of making his page, so it is getting done. I will send him the information you sent me. And thank you so much for the list, I am slowly chipping away to see what I will choose to fill a gap. How fun is this! Snaudrey (talk) 06:32, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
Thank you!
[edit]Thank you for your help--I was trying desperately to figure out how to add categories! Suddenly, they appeared, and I checked the edit history and confirmed my suspicions you had swooped in. Anyway, I gave it my best shot for now. Have a good day or night, wherever you are! Keacord (talk) 05:32, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
Thanks from your Longy fans
[edit]Dear VdiT, When we went over our pages in class this morning, we had the impression that you'd lavished an immense amount of time, attention, and care on our work. Thank you very much. help with article
[edit]Hello! A thousand apologies for posting my article twice, not completely sure how that happened. I am here to ask for your help on what I can do to remedy the violations on my article on Joaquin Turina. I have some ideas on how to fix it;
- I can go through and put quotations around the copied text. I know the information is sound because the website it comes from has an extensive and well cited bibliography.
- I can go through and paraphrase the text, writing my own version of the information.
What do you think? Any other suggestions? I will do whatever I have to do to successfully post my article. Class was wonderful today going through everyone's articles. Thank you for the guidance! What an adventure! Snaudrey (talk) 17:15, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Snaudrey! I've left some preliminary guidance on your talk page. More tomorrow. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 19:49, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

What's going on?
[edit]Hello. We talked a while ago about my creating an article for Tom Alonso's Phantom of the Opera. You emphasized the importance of finding published sources and I have done everything I can to do so. There is now only one section in the article without reputable references and it is the same length as one section of another student's article, which is already published and presumably fine. My article is now at Draft:Phantom of the Opera (1992 musical)... and it's been completely static since a week ago. Is this normal for an AfC article? Is there any way I can get it published any sooner, or possibly get some feedback before publication? Thanks --Miriam.Ela.Malt (talk) 16:41, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, Miriam. Sorry my reply is a bit late late. I've been in the US for Thanksgiving and only got back to London yesterday. I'll have a close look at your draft tomorrow morning, give you some feedback, and explain your options. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 19:46, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
Hi, Voceditenore!
[edit]I'm a student of the vision of music's future class by Ijmusic. I apologize for my late answer about your greetings. I want to make a new article about the album titled "People Time: The Complete Recordings and I want you to recommend me your any ideas. I have a sandbox and I put some of the information to sandbox. I will appreciate if you take a look at my sand box and give me any comments. In my own opinion, I have two questions. First is I want to shorten the space during all of the song titles. If I put one enter, It doesn't have one line down, but indicated on the same line. So after I put enter twice the next song title goes down but it have too broad space I think. Do you know how can I make a narrow and nice line change? And the other question is, like any other album articles, I want to make a project album banner that contains information about album. So I join to WikiProject Albums member, and tried to put the banner with my own information but it showed an odd banner instead of clear album information. Do you know how can I put the edit correctly? Thanks again your kindness and I will wait your answer. Myeonghanyu (talk) 15:42, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

- Dear Voceditenore, Thank you for your lightning response. You've already visited the early birds, and I appreciated it! Hoping you're well, Yours, Ijmusic (talk) 22:56, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry to easedrop, but for ease of reference, User:Xezbeth is the one who has deleted User:Hodgey323's page (not 523). Perhaps a note explaining that this user is part of a wikipedia sponsored university project would prevent further deletion.4meter4 (talk) 03:42, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi IJ!. I left a note at the deleting admin's talk page explaining the situation. I asked if the page could be restored so the student can then remove the excessive autobiography while keeping their first effort in the history. Fortunately, the page has been restored. I've also left a note at User:Hodgey323's talk page about how to make their page more in keeping with the guidelines. I also took the liberty of leaving notes to all of this year's students about the guidelines, strongly suggesting they edit their profiles to make them much more concise (at most a short paragraph about themselves) and much more closely related to what their future work here will be with a section explicitly about what they plan to work on here. The original versions of their pages will remain in the page history. I'm afraid that if they don't do this fairly promptly, other students' pages may be tagged for deletion. If this happens again and if you wish, by all means do reach out on a personal level to the deleting admin as 4meter4 suggested. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 07:20, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- You're too good to us, dear Voceditenore, and I am grateful for your enduring support. I have thanked both 4meter4 and the deleting admin for helping us. I appreciate your leaving notes for each of us as well. The students and I will get to work, and I'll revise next semester's guidelines. With apologies, Yours, Ijmusic (talk) 13:19, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
Mea maxima culpa
[edit]Thank you, dear Voceditenore, for saving Hodgey323's post. I've been trying for years (literally) to get students to write something more than "Hi, this is my user page". Unfortunately, this year we surpassed ourselves--and Wikipedia's guidelines. My apologies. May I correct my error next semester, or are we going need to take the hedge clippers to this semester's? South African Vocal Music
[edit]Hi Voceditenore,
I am Neo, one of the students from Prof Isaiah Jackson's classes at Berklee College of Music. I would like to thank you for the efforts you put in to assist us. I also have some questions about my topic for the assignment. I have chosen to work on South African Vocal Music, specifically the isicathamiya singing style which is derived from Mbube. I have three topics and I need to narrow them down to one for the final project. The topics are listed below. The difficulty of this assignment is there is hardly any information on this genre of music except South African musicians, which will not be considered a form of citation for the wikipedia page. I was wondering if it is possible for you to point me in a direction where I can find valuable sources and information that might help me construct a cohesive page.
Secondly, what do you think of the following topics?
1. South African vocal music pre Mbube
2. The birth of new genres from Mbube
3. Vocal music today influenced by international music
Neogcabo (talk) 01:10, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- Replied on your talk page. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 10:04, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi Voceditenore,
Thank you for your advice, I have decided to expand on Isicathamiya, with a focus on the following:
1.1 Origin: Traditional Music, culture and spirituality 1.2 Pre-Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Post-Ladysmith Black Mambazo 1.3 Competition Etiquette and Formalities 1.4 Style and composition
I also accidentally submitted my article while I was trying to edit it, however I didn't realize I needed to edit in "edit source" and not "edit". By doing so it forced me to submit my article and it was rejected due to it being incomplete. I have spoken to MatthewVanitas and explained to him what happened so I will wait for his response to see if it possible to revoke the rejection.
Thank you so much for your assistance.
Neogcabo (talk) 04:59, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
Dear Voceditenore,
After hours of research and typing, I have completed the work for the class. I would like to thank you for your assistance especially when it came to the sources and helping me find my way after I had submitted an article. If you can, I would love it if you would read through the work I've submitted and would appreciate some feedback. I know there is always room for improvement.
Once again, thank you for all you do! It is highly appreciated! :)

Music Therapy
[edit]Hello, Voceditenore,
I'm a part of Professor Isaiah Jackson's class at Berklee working to submit our additions to Wikipedia! A quick question in regards to making a page live: I am planning to add a section about the use of music therapy in military settings. When my research is done and the information is all set in my sandbox, do I simply just add it (and my references) to the Music Therapy page? I just want to ensure that I am going about this correctly.
Thank you for all your help! Eireanne-Marie (talk) 16:24, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Eireanne-Marie! I had a look at your sandbox. The references look very promising. When you're finished, you could simply add it as new section at Music therapy. I'd suggest a heading like Music therapy in the military. It will depend on how long your addition is. The Music therapy article is already quite long. If your finished piece is over 2500 characters (character count tool), minus the references, you might want to consider creating it as a separate article. Let me know when it's nearing completion and we can look again at the possibilities. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 18:41, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, again, Voceditenore!
- I've been adding to my writing in my sandbox about Music therapy in the military. As of right now, I still have a section to go, but am working diligently, and thought I would contact you again as it is nearing completion. If we could take another look at where to post this, whether on the already-existing Music therapy page or to create a new one, I would greatly appreciate it!
- Thank you again for all your help. I truly do appreciate it!

- Greetings, Voceditenore! Just a quick update: I've posted Music therapy in the military as a section on the Music therapy page. I think the section works well as a part of the whole rather than on its own. Thoughts? Thanks for your help and input! Best, Eireanne-Marie (talk) 14:21, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- Well done, Eireanne-Marie! I've left more details on your talk page. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 08:58, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

Berklee Autumn 2016
[edit]Dear VdiT, Thank you for helping so many of my fine students this semester. They and I appreciated the interest that you took in our work.
Though the Jonathan Wandag article was declined, the students and I felt that his body of work warranted his inclusion in Wikipedia. I said, "If you believe in an article, fight for it!" They countered, "How?", at which point I realized that I'd lost track of how the appeals process currently works. The writer of the article will work towards the suggestions that user:SwisterTwister offered, and I'd appreciate it if you had time to remind me of the best way to negotiate notability guidelines on behalf of a celebrated younger artist working in newer media. With best wishes, Yours, Ijmusic (talk) 20:36, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- Replied at your talk page, User talk:Ijmusic#Draft:Jonathan_Wandag. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 08:39, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, dear VdT, for your swift and compendious reply. I appreciated your spending so much time helping us understand the issues with this page, efforts that keep Wikipedia from appearing like "some sort of closed club" and demonstrate the commitment of scholars like your gracious self to high editorial standards. Yours, Ijmusic (talk) 15:41, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Sandbox Article Help
[edit]Hello, Voceditenore! I was wondering if you could possibly look over/ provide some help my article I am writing about Henrik Linder as part of professor Isaiah Jackson's A Vision of Music's Future project. The link can be found below!
http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:Lshea96/sandbox User:lshea96/sandbox Thanks! Lshea96 (talk) 03:07, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Lshea96. I'm abroad at the moment, but will try to look at your sandbox and get back to you when I return on the 24th. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 14:43, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
- PS As you can see, I've moved your messages here to the bottom of the page, where new messages go—a Wikipedia idiosyncracy. More about this at WP:TALK. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 14:43, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
Hi, Voceditenore. I am a part of Isaiah Jackson's class. I'm working on my Wikipedia article, and I'm concerned about whether I have enough strong sources. Could you look at my sandbox and let me know what you think. The link is below:

Better Sources/ References?
[edit]Hi Voceditenore! Thank you so much for all of your help so far on my page for Henrik Linder! I added those references you left me on my talk page. Unfortunately, my review for submission was declined because they said the references do not show the subject's notability. A person on live chat also said that the sources are mainly interviews or articles from the box office. If you could take a look at it, perhaps provide some advice, I would really appreciate it! http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Draft:Henrik_Linder Thanks!Lshea96 (talk) 03:04, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Buonasera Voceditenore, I'm a student in Prof. Isaiah Jackson's class, too. First of all, thank you so much for your help and for introducing us to the fascinating world of Wikipedia. I'm writing my article and I was wondering if you could take a look at it when you have some time. I'll leave the link here: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:HenryDorian/sandbox. Thank you so much! Wikipedia Article Help
[edit]Hello Voceditenore, I'm a student in Prof. Isa Jackson's class, also. I am considering writing a Wikipedia article on gospel music's influence on other genres and artists but I want to call it "gospel fusion". With NPOV in mind, what would be the more neutral approach to naming this? Mdcassidy (talk) 21:36, 29 April 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Mdcassidy! I wouldn't worry too much about the title now. When you have a draft ready, I'll be able to form a better opinion. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 18:39, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia Article help
[edit]Hello Voceditenore! I submitted my article for review, but it got declined. Would you be able to look at it and give me pointers as to how to improve it? I know my resources are limited and my references aren't the best, but I'd really like to have a published Wikipedia article for this particular artist. This is the link. http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Draft:Manaka_Kataoka. I'd really appreciate it! Best, TheYingThing

Help with assignment from Berklee
[edit]Hi Voceditenore,
I am from Professor Jackson's class at Berklee and I could use some help with fixing my post on 21st century opera. I'm currently working on gathering more information to add, such as new operas produced in the last 10-15 years and active commissioning groups. I'm also looking for more secondary sources to cite. Can you help me improve it with any insights or thoughts you may have? Many thanks for all your help and dedication to our class!
JHMusic (talk) 18:11, 21 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi JHMusic, I'm travelling at the momeent but will get back to you when I return home on April 25th. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 15:48, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, dear VdT, for your assistance again this year. For reasons that elude me, this semester's students were more than usually reluctant to take you up on your kind offers of help. I'm glad that the successful ones appealed to you. As for the plagiarism, despite our regularly explaining its evils in every context, a few students persist in the practice.
- Sorry to have missed you in California, where we will soon be heading. With any luck, we'll catch up with you there or in Boston at some point.
- With thanks for your great faithfulness, and best wishes for a healthy, happy summer,
- Yours, Ijmusic
Request for Advice
[edit]Hi Voceditenore, my name is Drew Sinha, I am a student in Professor Isaiah Jackson's class at Berklee College of Music. Recently for the class I wrote an article for the musician Andy Wood and I was wondering if you would be kind enough to take the time to look over my draft and offer any advice for improvements or alterations I could make. My draft can be found through my sandbox (User:Drewsinha/sandbox), but here's a direct link to the draft (Draft: Andy Wood (guitarist)). I look forward to hearing your feedback, and appreciate your assistance. - Drewsinha (talk) 15:41, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Voceditenore, this is Drew Sinha writing you again to thank you for the advice you gave in regards to my draft on the guitarist Andy Wood. I appreciate your assistance, and any further advice or improvements you would make would be welcome as always. Drewsinha (talk) 21:04, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
