M15 Halftrack page
Greetings, User Tomandjerry211. I see you've put a lot of effort into the M15 page bringing it up to Good Page status and beyond. And recognize help from several of the "usual suspects" at military related pages, both at the Military Project page and there.
While looking for a public domain image of the M15 "Special" to add to the page I came across some terrific ones at the top of this post: http://halftrackinfo.com/index.php?topic=663.0, which references this unfortunately defunct page as a source: http://www.antiaircraft.org/T28.htm. They're not definitively US Army photos, and without the provenance there's no way to upload them with a public domain license. I'll look around some more.
A noticed the Infobox photo at the Wikipedia page what is labeled an M15A1 appears to have no twin 50s. (Here's a walkaround of that same halftrack: http://www.primeportal.net/apc/greg_smith/m15a1_aa/index.php?Page=1). I realized it is the exhibit at Fort Lewis Military Museum, but how is it an M15A1 without any Brownings? Yours, Wikiuser100 (talk) 17:46, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

B-class for such a short article as Matthew Aylmer, 1st Baron Aylmer seems overly generous; C would be more appropriate in my opinion. ww2censor (talk) 09:39, 19 May 2015 (UTC)

GA Cup
Hey Tomandjerry211,
I noticed you started adding reviews/reassessments to your submissions page. Unfortunately, the GA Cup does not start until July 1 and therefore no reviews/reassessments are eligible until then, as mentioned here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! :) --Dom497 (talk) 22:39, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry about that fact, but since I'm a newcomer to the GA cup I (unfortunately) didn't know that. Thanks for reverting my mistaken edits.--Tomandjerry211 (Let's have a chat) 22:42, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- No worries! At least your eager to get started! :D --Dom497 (talk) 22:43, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
Scripts
Assuming this works like mine, red links will show when you click on a page with dodgy references, which you can repair and if you look at the "toolbox" (under the search letterbox) on the left of the article page, there should be "Highlight duplicate links". Click on and they should show up in a red outline. Regards.Keith-264 (talk) 23:23, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
- Greetings again, nice to see you've been spreading your wings. I've found a new script importScript('User:Ucucha/duplinks.js'); which highlights mistakes in the references section where the book details are in a template. As a test I tried it on your revision of Mediterranean and Middle East theatre of World War II and found no errors (unlike a lot of the articles I've been working on). RegardsKeith-264 (talk) 09:58, 29 May 2015 (UTC)Keith-264 (talk) 12:12, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
Mediterranean and Middle East theatre of World War II
Although it doesn't impact the rating, and I suspect this is the result of work by multiple prior editors, there is inconsistency in presenting operation names in the article. No all caps, but some operation names are italicized, while others are not. In one case an operation name is italicized and the word "Operation" is excluded from the link, adding an unnecessary redirect. On a related subject, for German operations, I think the looser translation of Fall as "Operation", rather than the literal translation of "Case" is easier for users with no military history background to understand. Good work. --Lineagegeek (talk) 15:06, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
Archiving
If you archive something, particularly for the first time, please do not use the name "archive1" but instead use "Archive 1" because otherwise many scripts will not be able to display the archive. Also please do not archive at least the 3 most recent conversations on a talk page.
As a general rule there is no need to manually archive a page as you did with Talk:Mediterranean and Middle East theatre of World War II/archive1 Instead go to Help:Archive#Automated archival and simply cut and past the example (with an archive box), to just above the first section, and there will never be a need to manually archive the talk page. -- PBS (talk) 14:15, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
- Many thanks for the advice.--Tomandjerry211 (Let's have a chat) 20:14, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

2015 GA Cup
Welcome to the GA Cup! In less than 72 hours, the competition will begin! Before you all start reviewing nominations and reassessments we want to make sure you understand the following:
Also, rather than creating a long list on what to remember, make sure you have read the "Scoring", "Submissions", and "FAQ" pages. Now some of you are probably wondering how on earth the rounds will work. The rounds will work in a similar fashion as the previous competition, with the exception of the first round. Round 1 will have everyone compete in one big pool. Depending on the final number of participants after sign-ups close, a to-be-determined number of participants will move on (highest scorers will move on) to Round 2. We guarantee that the top 15 will move on (this number may change), so make sure you aim for those top positions! Moving on to Round 2, participants will be split into pools. The pools will be determined by a computer program that places participants by random. More details regarding Round 2 will be sent out at the end of Round 1. It is important to note that the GA Cup will run on UTC time, so make sure you know what time that is for where you live! On that note, the GA Cup will start on July 1 at 0:00:01 UTC; Round 1 will end on July 29 at 23:59:59 UTC; Round 2 will commence on August 1 at 0:00:01 UTC. All reviews must be started after or on the start time of the round. If you qualify for Round 2 but do not complete a review before the end of Round 1, the review can be carried over to Round 2; however that review will not count for Round 1. Prior to the start of the the second round, participants who qualify to move on will be notified. Finally, if you know anyone else that might be interesting in participating, let them know! Sign-ups close on July 15 so there is still plenty of time to join in on the action! If you have any further questions, contact one of the judges or leave a message here. After sign-ups close, check the Pools page as we will post the exact number of participants that will move on to the next round. Because this number will be determined past the halfway mark of Round 1, we encourage you to aim to be in the top 15 as the top 15 at the end of the round are guaranteed to move on. Cheers from 3family6, Dom497, Figureskatingfan, Jaguar and MrWooHoo. To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletter, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. If you are a participant, you will be on the mailing list no matter what as this is the easiest way to communicate between all participants.

Plagiarism and paraphrasing
To avoid plagiarism, you need to completely rewrite the text. Changing a few words here and there does not cut it - you need to change sentence structure, word choice, etc. Take a look at the changes I made here - that's the scale of work you need to do. Parsecboy (talk) 13:50, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

Looks like you got the general idea, however, in the interest of whoever is going to fix the article, can you please provide examples of the where the article fails the criteria. Time and Eternity GA nomination
Hello Tomandjerry211. Firstly thank you very much for taking the time to look at the Time and Eternity. I have tried to address the points you made, I will go through them here: a) I've added a little biography about Stace, which includes a little about the publication history (or the change in topic the book marked in his thought). b) I deleted the citation in the lead, I left the ones in the synopsis as I think they are helpful and I see they are used in The Demands of Liberal Education, which is a 'Good Article' in a similar category. c) Standardized the hyphens and used Template:Cite isbn for guidance. Hope that is ok. d) There aren't many more sources. I have found this: "American writer Arthur Goldwag has said that the phrase "that than which there is no other" that he encountered in Time and Eternity was one of a number of factors that contributed to him giving up praying[1]" What do you think? e) I saw the problem with that image's Fair use rationale so I deleted it along with the quote.
- Wrong image, meant for the image in the infobox.--Tomandjerry211 (alt) (talk) 11:27, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
(I'm trying to think of another image I could replace it with, but unable so far). So, how does that look? Thank you again. --Evenmadderjon (talk) 22:40, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- Ha ha! Restored. I'm not sure why you say the book cover has fair use issues, it seems to be a fairly common licensing arrangement on book covers e.g. Sonslovers.jpg. Could you explain and I'll sort it out. Thank you.--Evenmadderjon (talk) 11:51, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- Lacks a response to the "low resolution" question.--Tomandjerry211 (alt) (talk) 17:00, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- Marvellous. Thanks. According to the best guide I could find Wikipedia:Fair use/Definition of "low resolution" (admittedly not excellent), the image meets the low res criteria as it is less than 400 px wide. Over to you on the rest of the issues.--Evenmadderjon (talk) 20:11, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for judging Time and Eternity (philosophy book) fit for Good Article status, and for your help in improving it.--Evenmadderjon (talk) 08:08, 21 July 2015 (UTC)

SuggestBot suggestions, user account checking
Hi there! I maintain SuggestBot and noticed you've requested some suggestions. You might be wondering why you haven't gotten any, and that's because we do some checking of which user added the template before sending suggestions, to ensure that users cannot spam each other with a ton of suggestions based on articles one might not be interested in. I noticed you have the appropriate templates set on your alternate account, but we unfortunately don't support that (might do somewhere down the line, as I think it would be neat, but resources are rather limited). So, the easiest way to get suggestions is to add the template with the same account that owns the user/talk page where the suggestions will be posted.
Hope this was helpful, let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to help out. And BTW, I'll remove the template for now. Regards, Nettrom (talk) 16:48, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

2015 GA Cup - Round 2
Greetings, GA Cup competitors! Wednesday saw the end of Round 1. The Rambling Man, who was eliminated during the first round in our last competition, earned an impressive 513 points, reviewed twice as many articles (26) as any other competitor. It was a tight race for second for first-time competitors BenLinus1214 and Tomandjerry211, who finished second and third with 243 and 224 points, respectively. Close behind was Wugapodes, who earned 205 points. The change in our points system had an impact on scoring. It was easier to earn higher points, although the key to success didn't change from last time, which was choosing articles with older nomination dates. For example, most of the articles The Rambling Man reviewed were worth 18 points in the nomination date category, and he benefited from it. BenLinus1214 reviewed the longest article, A Simple Plan (at 26,536 characters, or 4,477 words), the 1994 film starring Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thornton, and Bridget Fonda and directed by Sam Raimi, and earned all possible 5 points in that category. After feedback from our participants, the judges slightly changed the rule about review length this time out. Shorter reviews are now allowed, as long as reviewers give nominators an opportunity to address their feedback. Shorter reviews are subject to the judges' discretion; the judges will continue their diligence as we continue the competition. Despite having fewer contestants at the beginning of Round 1 than last time, 132 articles were reviewed, far more than the 117 articles that were reviewed in Round 1 of the inaugural GA Cup. All of us involved should be very proud of what we've accomplished thus far. The judges are certain that Round 2 will be just as successful. 16 contestants have moved onto Round 2 and have been randomly placed in 4 groups of 4, with the top 2 in each pool progressing to Round 3, as well as the top participant ("9th place") of all remaining competitors. Round 2 has already begun and will end on August 29 at 23:59:59 UTC. Information about Round 2 and the pools can be found here. Good luck and remember to have fun! Cheers from Dom497, Figureskatingfan, 3family6 and Jaguar, and MrWooHoo. To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletter, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. Deletion of Institute for advanced studies in information and communication technology
Hello Tomandjerry211,
Could you please explain why you asked for deletion of "Institute for advanced studies in information and communication technology" wikipage? You said that is promotional, but I don't understand why. Could you please tell me where the errors are? (please refer to http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:MATTEO_ARAGONE/sandbox) It seems to me that I've written it in a quite neutral way. ISICT is a well know Italian Institute, similar Institutes have their Wikipage (European_College_of_Parma, Scuola_superiore_di_Catania) similar to the one that I created). Please also note that this page was a translation.
Thanks in advance for your explanation, Matteo Aragone
- Response:
- First of all a Wikipedia article is not an info website, so the article should have been rewritten to include only necessary information for regular reader.
- Next, "student average score is 27/30 and no student's score below 24/30". Exceptional claims require multiple exceptional sources. Currently there are no sources for that point.
- Level two headers (two equal signs around the text in the header) are used for section headers, not level one.
- "Benefits" section seems non neutral.
- I also have a question: "Where was its was translated from?". Thanks, Tomandjerry211 (alt) (talk) 22:25, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
