Gary Hutch/Gary Hutchinson
I have been editing under both names. I was asked to log in this time and could not remember my log-in information at all so started a new account. Impartiality: Lucy is my daughter so I am not adding any written material or opinions to the page. I am not offering any points of view and have never done so in the past. I am adding factual information, external and internal links and updates which we as a family are aware of long before anyone else. None of my edits are personal promotion nor are they biased or fictional. It's just the facts!! PS, Is there an easy way to update her picture which is 2 years out of date now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gary Hutchinson (talk • contribs) 13:55, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
- I understand but you need to take care, Wikipedia needs verifiable reliable published sources rather than your "facts". You will need to upload a new photo using the "upload file" link on the left under Toolbox. Theroadislong (talk) 14:00, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Dominic Sherwood - Lucy Fry.jpg
A tag has been placed on File:Dominic Sherwood - Lucy Fry.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi. New to Wikipedia. Did not mean to do anything disruptive. Can you explain, I don't want to violate any rules, or create problems. Thanks in advance for your help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ed@empirewest.com (talk • contribs) 21:39, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
Looking for some feedback here. I see that you have deleted my "drop out ceiling tiles" contribution twice. I believe I have been careful to not violate any Wikipedia rules, and only cite authoritative third party sources, and to make logical use of links. I am not soap boxing, self-promoting or attempting to do anything but provide information about an important category of tile. I am an expert in the field of ceiling tiles . . but not an expert in Wikipedia . . .though you clearly are. So please point me in the right direction.
From an organizational standpoint it looks to me as if "Ceiling Tiles" should actually have its own master article. There are currently stand alone articles elsewhere in Wikipedia for "Faux Ceiling Tiles" and for "Dropped Ceiling" that would logically fall under the master heading of "Ceiling Tiles", as would my new "Drop Out Ceiling Tile" contribution.
Perhaps my error is in putting "Drop Out Ceiling" tiles within the general "Tiles" article?
A couple of years ago I made a casual attempt to add some things, and correct some things---and I clearly did not do it correctly. Now I am interested in actual making a substantive contribution. If you can tell me where I am going wrong, and how to rectify that I would be most appreciative.
I look forward to your reply!

EuroPayment Services
Hello Sir,
I have wrote a page for EuroPayment Services. This company own the 2nd largest payment gateway form Romania with a 40% market share. In my point of view it's important for anybody to know about us because the brand euplatesc is well known in Romania. I have write the page in English because a large number of foreigner payers use our services.
Please let me know how can I adapt my article to fit to the Wikipedia rules.
Best regards, Ssuceveanu (talk) 18:30, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
- The article didn't ascert why the company was notable, but if you can find reliable secondary sources that support your statement that it is "2nd largest payment gateway form Romania with a 40% market share." There is a chance it can be rescued. Theroadislong (talk) 18:34, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Personally, I have no interest or desire to get involved in an edit war: a) I've been around WP long enough to satisfy ALL my urges for edit wars. b) I get much (MUCH) more enjoyment collaborating and trading banter. To Whom It May Concern/ Wikipedia Team:
Thank you for your clarification about the rule and policies of creating a userpage with the Wikipedia. There are, however, a few points that should be brought to the attention of the Wikipedia Team as a defense for the charges that I am using Wikipedia for "self-promotion" or for "Advertising". Although that looks like it, but that is not true, for the following reasons:
1) I am a published author of 12 volumes of pictorial books for which I worked more than 15 years. Pictorial books are usually produced by the sponsorship of a government or a university or financially strong publishing house. For 1 volume of a scholarly produced pictorial book, between 5 to 20 persons should be hired to perform various tasks related to the production of a pictorial book (--before its publication). For the first time, a free-lanced author has started and completed the production of original, pictorial manuscripts as a post-doctoral, academically oriented project, by the investment of the author for all the costs. The resources that I inputted to complete the 12 volumes ( now published with Amazon/ KDP Select), could have well been used to produce between 200 to 500 books in the West by the use of advanced software such as a dicta-phone and an editing software. Just one picture of a castle in the desert of Iran cost about $500 to travel to that spot by a car rental office (-- no bus, train, car or airplane moves to that location; therefore,a car and a driver should be hired from the nearest city and go to that location and return.) This is just 1 example of about 5000 illustrations about the main features of the traditional architecture in Iran for my books. During the years that I worked on my books, I have not been paid a penny by any person, while a janitor is a Western country earns about $1000 a month and about $12,000 a year and about $120,000 for 10 years. The salary for the holder of a Ph.D. is about $5000 a month, and about $60,000 a year. For more than 20 years working on the production and completion of 20 volumes of architectural books ( 12 volumes of which are now published by Amazon and can be reviewed for free by all people of the world), I must have been paid by a sponsor about $1,200,000 just for time. So far, I have not earned even a penny for my works and my works can be used by all people for free. Introducing my books in Wikipedia, is similar to introduce an author and his work in Wikipedia, i.e., Gone With the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell; The Invasion of Body Snatchers by Jack Finny. This, I do not think violates the Wikipedia policy. There is no conceivable financial benefit from the introduction of my books in Wikipedia. Wikipedia has allocated space to even introduce famous pornstars. Does that mean that people that see the picture of a pornstar in a wikipedia page will refer to that pornstar and will offer her money to buy love from her? It is impossible that I sell my book via Wikipedia.
2) I have a personal weblog (www.dr-manoochehri-Phd.co.uk) for two years in which my manuscripts and my resume and a copy of my doctoral degree are presented.
3) 12 volumes of my books are already published by Amazon/ KDP Select.
4) Wikipedia invites all people of the world to create an account. It is written in the top (right) section of the page. When an account is created, the person that creates such account should introduce him/herself. I have created an account, in the userpage of which I have introduced myself and the title of books. It is obvious that people want to know a bit about an author and his/her educational background. I some countries, and I do not mention where, some books are written and published by some interest group that those books are %100 written chatting. They are written by literate people, sometimes with a B.A. degree, to advertise about a topic for their interest. If searched, I am sure that some of this genre of books are also introduced in the Wikipedia. It is very unusual that all the Wikipedia Team become very obsessd to delete my account so that no name of my books appear in the wikipedia.
5) I created the second account so that the articles in the deleted account be transferred to it and be saved.
I hope the above points be read by the team in Wikipedia. If you decide to delete the account, that is fine. I cannot have objection to it. But please make all the review of a person intending to create an account prior to the creation not after the creation. Wikipedia creates accounts for users very freely and easily, but then the team in the Wikipedia exercise the career of deleting accounts and articles.

Frederick Bee article
Why do you think Frederick Bee is not notable? He worked for 14 years to expand the civil rights of Chinese residents and to keep Chinatown intact. Nothing was written about him after his death in 1892 because the majority of Americans wanted to forget his activities. Please read this section from Simon Schama'a book, http://books.google.com/books?id=2VCLBrCrFmQC&pg=PA268&lpg=PA268&dq=simon+schama+Frederick+Bee&source=bl&ots=SEhvoeb1Wo&sig=7CqoV3Nseyr5cHV4DCQcDF0sD9Q&hl=en&sa=X&ei=b7UsUtvBE8L0iQKxyIDQDA&ved=0CFoQ6AEwBA#v=onepage&q=simon%20schama%20Frederick%20Bee&f=false . — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcpotbelly (talk • contribs) 17:37, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
- It is not clear from the article that this is what makes him notable? The lede section should establish his notability. At present the article is a mess and looks like a list of every fact available about him and his wider family. Theroadislong (talk) 17:55, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

- It's getting better but the lede still doesn't establish why he is notable? The statement "Simon Schama’s book, “The American Future”, discussed the importance of Fred Bee" is not enough to establish his notability? Theroadislong (talk) 09:26, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

Just wondering why the page Talkbacker.com is marked for a speedy deletion and the Dark_Horizons page is not. Schamblin (talk) 19:27, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
- Talkbacker.com was nominated for deletion but was incorrectly redirected instead. The article Dark_Horizons does suggest notability because they were nominated for a Webby Award for film in 1999. Frederick Bee notability
JSTOR has articles that refer to Frederick Bee. How do I use these articles to increase Frederick Bee's notability? MC Potbelly (talk) 02:03, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not sure. If his biggest claim to notability is The Chinese Exclusion section then this needs to be emphasised and that section really does need a LOT of work, it appears to be in note form and has much info that need not be there at all for clarity. Large quotes for instance are not encouraged in Wikipedia. I will take another look later. I am just about to replace a hard drive in my iMac so will be busy for a while. Soho Repertory Theatre
I will not edit on behalf of an organization, but the edits I am attempting to make are to correct inaccuracies about our organization. Shouldn't Wikipedia want to represent the most up-to-date information. I think that presenting materials that are incorrect to the public goes against your mission statement. Please make the following edits and I will stop.
- remove the "interior of 46 Walker St" photo--there has been renovations and the interior of the theater no longer remotely resembles that. - ensure that the Soho Rep. period is included. This is a small edit and should not be a point of contention. As you can see in the website's mission statement, the organization spell its name this way http://sohorep.org/about/mission
I will continue to check the page day in and day out. If you do not assist me in making these corrections, I will make them myself.
your assistance is appreciated.

Good afternoon. I hope you are well.
We have recently tried to update our SCA's Wikipedia page. After many edits/messages and our posting removed, we are confused as to what exactly in our post is causing it to be removed. Please advise and I will be happy to update it so it won't be taken down and we can resolve the issue.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

- Firstly user accounts are for individuals only and you have a WP:conflict of interest. I suggest you make suggestions on the talk page of the article, rather than edit the article itself. It needs to be written in a neutral tone. Theroadislong (talk) 21:02, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
Royal Academy of Music Museum
I work for the Royal Academy of Music Museum and am updating the information following refurbishment. The references I provided were linked to the Royal Academy of Music website because that is the only source to prove that those physical objects are now in each gallery. There is no publication. Please could my revision of the page be left.
Thanks

- Please read the note I left on your talk page, you cannot add copyrighted text. If there are no reliable third party references then Wikipedia cannot use the information. Please note that you also have a conflict of interest. Theroadislong (talk) 14:28, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
I have read the terms for updating a page when you are connected to the company. In this case I am updating factual information, I attempted to go through the text and remove any language that may have seemed bias but due to you continually undoing my revisions I can not even do that. Please could my revision be left as this is information provided by the Academy about changes in the Museum. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RebeccaAlexander90 (talk • contribs) 14:51, 18 September 2013 (UTC) (talk page stalker) HI Rebecca, I think you should find reliable sources and by the way, you should sign your posts :) Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 15:00, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Ali Hewson and documentary
Can you find a tiny part of Black Wind White Land, which Ali narrated, convert it into an audio file and upload it, so we can place it at the Activism section as a sample? Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 20:04, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
- I can't find any online version of "Black Wind White Land" I'm afraid, I also think it would probably be illegal to copy a part of it anyway! Theroadislong (talk) 20:14, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, I see... but it isn't illegal to have parts of song, is it? Anyways, thanks for trying. Hope you are doing great! :) Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 20:17, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Can I please have constructive Criticism vs. a deletion of the article NAREIT
You flagged my article NAREIT for duplicate articles, when the article REIT is an investment definition. The article for NAREIT Is about the organization that supports REITs. Please elaborate exactly how this is a duplicate article when EPRA and FTSE_Group both have wikipedia articles for supporting the same investment definition.Joethsmow (talk) 18:02, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Roslyn Elementary School: Edits & Feedback
Thank you for your edits to the "Roslyn Elementary School" page.
I will be reverting the edits to the names of individuals listed in the "Building" section of the article as they all were identified as significant persons who contributed greatly to the establishment and construction of the public (government funded) school. Perhaps I will replace the word "Notable individuals..." with "Key community leaders of the City of Westmount who..." Some of those people do not currently have a Wikipedia page likely because they are from a completely different era that still has yet to be transferred to the Internet.
I appreciate the input to date.
Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by RoslynGoverningBoard (talk • contribs) 14:47, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

- I found this;
- The film Black Wind, White Land: Living with Chernobyl became notable in Ireland and other countries while also drawing increasing attention to the media-shy Hewson. It exasperated her being called Mrs. Bono, accused of only being used on the project because of her husband's fame. When in watching the film, it's clear that Hewson is the perfect narrator. Her compassion and knowledge of the disaster and its aftermath is a true force and a voice all her own.
- The name is ALISON HEWSON - THE WOMAN WHO MADE BONO by Lisa Waugh - 05/10/2011
- How can we add that to the article. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 20:12, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

Optical Express
Hi,
Thanks for recent amendments to Optical Express talk page. I just wanted to bring to your attention that the comments have been replaced. Would it be possible for you to continue to monitor? I just also wanted to bring to your attention that COI editors have been editing the page directly once again which stands against the agreement made. I've made the point about some content within the article previously but it wasn't addressed by any independent editor. I would appreciate if you could also look at this. Thanks --Hardlygone (talk) 09:02, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
PINK de Thierry article notes in ENGLISH
Cher Theroadislong, As far as I was informed (by Rushton2010) notes or references in en.wiki could stay in their original language. The Wiki translation machine allows to translate the texts reasonably. If there is a binding rule of Wiki that Notes in en.wiki articles have to be in English I will translate the texts. Hope to hear from you. Donald.louw 17:16, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- OK I had never heard of that! I'll revert. Theroadislong (talk) 17:41, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- I have reverted my edit, though I have to say the article is already very difficult to read, having foreign language notes doesn't help the reader much. Theroadislong (talk) 17:45, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of Orbitally Rearranged Monoatomic Elements
Greetings, I saw you had marked the page for "ORMUS" or Orbitally Rearranged Monoatomic Elements for speedy deletion. I ask you to please read the talk page and engage in a discussion with me about the subject prior to deleting this. There are far too many hits in google (721,000) for wikipedia to have no information on the subject. I argue that even if Ormus itself is a hoax, the wikipedia page is certainly not, and the wikipedia community at large should compile their findings and present a clear and rational, and neutral, stance on the subject. Thanks for your consideration. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jugglerseth (talk • contribs) 21:52, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
- I've removed the speedy but you will need to add reliable references to the article and possibly rename it the "ORMUS hoax" Good luck. Theroadislong (talk) 21:56, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help.
