Information icon Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to List of state highways in Kentucky (2000–2999). Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 10:28, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kentucky Route 6161 moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Kentucky Route 6161, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kentucky Route 3101 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. About creating Kentucky routes

[edit]

Hi, I see you have created many pages about Kentucky routes, but a lot of them is draftified. I would suggest adding the content to one of the pages here instead of creating new pages. Also, you will need some references, you can see how referencing is done in the above articles or via WP:REFB. Thank you for your contributions. ~ Aseleste (t, c, l) 01:37, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok! I will check that link to add content to them, thank you for telling me. TheGs2007 (talk) 01:40, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Im not sure what you are asking me about. I do know you want me to add content to some articles, but please tell me more so I understand. TheGs2007 (talk) 01:47, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That means if you want to create new pages about Kentucky routes, consider adding the content to existing articles instead of creating new pages so that they won't be draftified. ~ Aseleste (t, c, l) 02:10, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ok TheGs2007 (talk) 12:53, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

But how do i create the articles TheGs2007 (talk) 12:54, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hm, haven't you created articles before? I thought you already know. ~ Aseleste (t, e | c, l) 06:42, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I know what you are saying. I must of thought that you wanted to create it on those articles TheGs2007 (talk) 21:14, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

So do you want me to make articles on the list of kentucky supplemental roads 3500-6999? TheGs2007 (talk) 00:46, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No, I didn't ask you to do so. ~ Aseleste (t, e | c, l) 01:33, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Herees an example: i create “KY 6193 (example road)” on list of kentucky supplemental roads 3500-6999? TheGs2007 (talk) 13:43, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop randomly adding links to WP:AFC/R! Please read the instructions, and follow the instructions. Randomly adding links does not mean anything, since there is a fixed format on how to use the request page.

If what you are looking for is to request for someone else to create a list article, instead of a category or redirect, then you are using the wrong process page. You are instead looking for WP:Requested articles

-- 67.70.27.246 (talk) 00:24, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I do not know what you are saying but thank you for telling me TheGs2007 (talk) 02:39, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Instead of editing the page Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects and categories directly, use this Wikipedia:Article_wizard/Redirects ; read and follow the instructions -- 67.70.27.246 (talk) 10:22, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
TheGs2007, I will add that if you do not know what 67.70 is saying, then it is a good chance you should not be editing in the "Wikipedia:" space, but instead should be focusing on fixing, updating, and otherwise editing Articles. Primefac (talk) 10:33, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Creating articles and redirects

[edit]

Please read Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/New user orientation and understand what it says. There are some good tips and advice for new editors like yourself. Until then, I would discourage you from creating any more articles or redirects and instead I encourage you to improve existing articles. –Fredddie 10:45, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Some article writing tips

[edit]
  1. The infobox goes first followed by the prose for the lead.
  2. If there isn't enough content, don't bother separating out sections. (Exception: if you create a junction list table, put that into its own section.) According to MOS:LEAD, the lead section is a summary of the article content, but if there isn't much content, you can't summarize it.
  3. Section headings are rendered in sentence case, not title case. That means "Route description", not "Route Description". See MOS:HEAD for further details.
  4. {{Convert}} is your friend. Using it will mean your measurements and their conversions are properly formatted.
  5. Bold text isn't normally used outside of the lead. So if you do have a separate route description section, the first mention of the subject there is in plain text, not bold.
  6. There shouldn't be a space between a footnote and the period, nor should there be a space between footnotes.
  7. Articles should have categories. At a minimum, Category:State highways in Kentucky plus the appropriate "Category:Transportation in X County, Kentucky" categories should be added.

Imzadi 1979  21:22, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok! I will try out convert to see if it works TheGs2007 (talk) 21:40, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for telling me about convert! Now I dont have to spend my time searching up the kilometers TheGs2007 (talk) 01:29, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just remember that you need to add |adj=on to get the adjective format for a measurement that modifies a noun, or |adj=mid along with |-long for the compound adjective. Otherwise, you get 1.234 miles (1.986 km) instead of 1.234-mile (1.986 km) or 1.234-mile-long (1.986 km). Imzadi 1979  01:36, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The articles you recently created, Puerto Rico Highway 25R and Puerto Rico Highway 9974, are not suitable as written to remain published. They need more citations from reliable, independent sources. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kentucky Route 3041, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Siler, Kentucky. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A tag has been placed on Kentucky Route 1051 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
