Merging table cells

[edit]

Hi! Firstly a belated welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. I saw you asked in an edit summary how you can merge table cells. There is a really long help page at Help:Table that explains everything, but I thought I'd just write a little explanation here: you can do it by adding rowspan or colspan attributes to the table cell. For example:

{| class="wikitable"
| rowspan="2" | Text 1
| Text 2
|-
| Text 3
|}

Notice that the second row now only has one cell, because the other one is already taken up by the merged cell. That code gives this table:

Text 1 Text 2
Text 3

However, for accessibility reasons it's generally discouraged to add multiple column headers this way (see also the table accessibility tutorial). It's better to replace it with a caption (by adding a line with |+ Your caption at the top of the table), which is what I also did with the JESC 2021 table. ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 11:48, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Jochem van Hees Thank you for the message and a link to the table help page as I'm not used to working with them. I hope to collaborate with you on another (J)ESC article when the time comes around. Tai123.123 (talk) 16:01, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Mount Yasumandake

[edit]

On 4 February 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mount Yasumandake, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Mount Yasumandake was considered sacred to Buddhists, Shintoists, and Christians? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mount Yasumandake. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Mount Yasumandake), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Goregaon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Raigad. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

hello, I'd like to know the reason why you canceled all my edits on LPS, since all I did was translating the Slovenian page into English. All those infos were from their Wikipedia page in Slovenian and you just canceled them. May I know why, please? ThanksTardisinmiddleearth (talk) 13:26, 2 March 2022 (UTC) tardisinmiddleearth[reply]

@Tardisinmiddleearth I didn't undo any of your edits, if you look at the page history it seems Snowflake91 undid your edits as they were unsourced Tai123.123 (talk) 17:18, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
