Hi. If you want to list a bio article for reassessment you can do so at Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Assessment rather than the main project talk page. Regards Hekerui (talk) 01:11, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Georgia
Hey Presidentman,
I saw that you posted something on the WikiProject Georgia Talk page and I'm sure that it won't get answered there. :[ I noticed on the page that there was another statement posted on there that someone else wanted to make the WikiProject Southern Georgia page a taskforce of the Georgia one. I left a message here on the Wikipedia WikiProject Council to see if I could get someone's attention on the matter. I even contacted about four different admins and no response yet. Ugh. I dunno. Articles for deletion nomination of K02JZ
I have nominated K02JZ, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/K02JZ. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Hi! Is WP:QUIZ something that you think would go good on the Department of Fun page? Also, if you think you would need help maintaining it, the WikiFun Police would be happy to help! EWikistTalk 13:38, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- I would be happy for it to the be on the WP:DOF page. New Quiz and Template
New Quiz!
A new quiz, 8/19/10 Mathematics, is available at WikiQuizes!
I made a new template for notifications (NEW QUIZ NAME). Also, once we get going on these quizzes, we can put an answer key in the Bin so that Scorers who did not make the quiz can still check answers. EWikistTalk 15:30, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
WikiQuizes Drafts
I created another subpage, Drafts, for us to start building quizzes in. Like the Bin, I didn't put a link to it in the menu because it could contain the answers to quizzes. Also, a made a template, WikiQuiz, for making quizzes. I'm not sure how convenient it'll be, so we'll have to find out. EWikistTalk 18:46, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Two judges per week.
Greetings! At Wikipedia:WikiProject United States courts and judges, we have bot-created thousands of articles on United States federal judges. Of those 1,272 currently still have their bot-made cleanup tag. If just a dozen editors will each commit to cleaning up just two of those articles every week, we will conquer the entire list within the year. Most of the articles are quick and easy to clean up, requiring only a few minor adjustments of bot-created awkward wording. Please consider joining this effort, and committing to cleaning up two judges per week for the year. Cheers! bd2412 T 03:18, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Athens, Georgia
I noticed that you nominated Athens, Georgia as part of the set nomination to be distributed later. On one hand, that is a logical nomination. On the other, the article is "C" class. Editors mainly add musicians to "notables", but almost no serious editing occurs. I have no idea how to get it into whatever shape is needed. Everything there, except for the blasted musicians, is probably "okay."
The other problem, since there will be some sort of deadline, is keeping it in whatever shape its in. "Sufficient", but not excessive vandalism occurs, bad edits, misguided editors, etc. Somewhat worse than average. No big deal usually except when you have a deadline! DYK for First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica
On 8 December 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, Queens, is the oldest continuously serving Presbyterian church in the United States? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Orphaned non-free image File:Davethomas.png
Thanks for uploading File:Davethomas.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 16:00, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

New Years Message for WikiProject United States
With the first of what I hope will be monthly newsletters I again want to welcome you to the project and hope that as we all work together through the year we can expand the project, create missing articles and generally improve the pedia thought mutual cooperation and support. Now that we have a project and a solid pool of willing members I wanted to strike while the iron is hot and solicite help in doing a few things that I believe is a good next step in solidifiing the project. I have outlined a few suggestions where you can help with on the projects talk page. This includes but is not limited too updating Portal:United States, assessing the remaining US related articles that haven't been assessed, eliminating the Unrefernced BLP's and others. If you have other suggestions or are interested in doing other things feel free. I just wanted to offer a few suggestions were additional help is needed. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments or suggestions or you can always post something on the projects talk page. If you do not want to recieve a monthly message please put an * before your name on the members page.--Kumioko (talk) 04:10, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Added template for SuggestBot
Hi,
Thanks for being one of SuggestBot's users! I hope you have found the bot's suggestions useful.
We are in the process of switching from our previous list-based signup process to using templates and userboxes, and I have therefore added the appropriate template to your user talk page. You should receive the first set of suggestions within a day, and since we'll be automating SuggestBot you will from then on continue to receive them regularly at the desired frequency.
We now also have a userbox that you can use to let others know you're using SuggestBot, and if you don't want to clutter your user talk page the bot can post to a sub-page in your userspace. More information about the userbox and usage of the template is available on User:SuggestBot/Getting Recommendations Regularly.
If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me on my user talk page. Thanks again, Nettrom (talk) 16:17, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

The monthly collaboration is now in its third month since reactivation. The first article Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution was improved significantly in February, as was George Washington (the second one) in March. Although the latter article was not nominated for GA, enough work was done for contributors to identify remaining content areas needing improving before an attempt is made, which is great progress. Thus anyone keen on reading up on Washington's role in the American Revolution and the presidency is most welcome to review and contribute. Magicpiano (talk · contribs) is planning on buffing material for the American Revolution segment by focussing on the daughter article, George Washington in the American Revolution first. Anyway, Chesapeake Bay is the new collaboration picked for April and anyone is welcome to work on it. For choosing new candidate articles for May and beyond, editors should think about articles which have a range of issues that a variety of editors can help with, from content (primary school to university level research) to copyediting. Having a look over current and past ideas (which can be seen here and here (even older ones). So folks have a think about which articles are in most in need of fixing, or alternately, have a clear pathway to GA or FA status.

Project article statistics for April 30, 2011 Current statistics
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
We are happy to report that the project continues to grow every day with several more editors joining the project this month. We welcome them to the project along with all the other editors who have joined since the relaunch of the project in January. This month at least five articles relating to United States topics were promoted to Featured article status and at least nine articles have been promoted to Featured list. Additionally, there are multiple articles including the USS Chesapeake (1799), Jefferson nickel and Frank Buckles, the last American World War I veteran who recently died, pending review for Featured article status. The full list can be found here. There is also a large selection of Lists pending featued list status here including several relating to sports and music, List of tallest buildings in Austin and List of U.S. state horses. We continue to look for editors interested in reviewing these articles so any help no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated. After nearly two months of discussions and preperations WikiProject United States Government has joined the family of WikiProjects supported by WikiProject United States. The initial phase of including this project have already begun and should conclude in the next couple weeks. This project represents a core topic relating to the United States and collaboration between the two projects will make both stronger.
The portal is really looking good and a lot of things have been put in place to make the portal work in a semi automated fashion but it needs help with filling in some of the Anniversaries pages. Most of the days up to mid May have been started but there is still work to be done from the middle of May through December. More help is always appreciated with new events as they occur so any assistance there is also appreciated.
A lot of improvements were made to last months collaboration, Chesapeake Bay so thanks to all who helped with that. The collaboration for May is Wall Street. Tomwsulcer has already done a major rewrite and expansion of the Wall street article while it was a collaboration candidate and with just a little more work I believe we can get it to GA. The current articles up for vote are:
Activity in the collaboration has slowed this month and we continue to look for editors to submit their suggestions for articles they would like to see collaboration on and we continue to seek editors interested in improving those articles. Whether they are designated as the collaboration of the month or they are just a candidate editors are encouraged to edit any of them and make improvements. Please take some time to submit and vote for the article(s) you think should be the next collaboration for June. Over the next couple of months we will be implementing some bot tasks to automate some of the things that are currently done manually in the Collaboration. If anyone has a bot or wants to start one and is willing to take on one of the tasks please let the project know by leaving a note on the projects talk page.

Macula risk page
Howdy,
I am new to the world of wiki pages, but I am the senior Marketing manager at the company responsible for Macula Risk. I have sent an E-mail to the permissions-en@wikipedia.org address requesting that the page be released
None of the materials used in the descriptor in proprietary and I have tried to add the proper references to the material as well (as a lab developed test, there is no 'proprietary information' that Arctic would only share with regulators.
If you have any further questions, or if I need to provide more information, please contact me directly at gerry.belgraver@arcticdx.com
Regards,

Macula Risk
Can you please contact me to explain what on earth all this odd syntax means- I just want to get my page unblocked
Gerry —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gbelgraver (talk • contribs) 16:03, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- It means you copied from Macula Risk's website this is NOT allowed on Wikipedia because of copyright issues. - Presidentman (talk · contribs) (Talkback) Random Picture of the Day 20:44, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
US 66
I saw you joined up and started tagging articles, so thanks! I sent a message to a user who is familiar with project banners; hopefully he can straighten out the WP:USHIST banner so those articles can get tagged as well. I've also asked at WP:NRHP, so hopefully we can tag some of their articles as well. –Fredddie™ 22:47, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
- Just a side note, but you might want to discuss exact scope before tagging stuff. U.S. Route 491, while it was previously US 666, might not be the sort of article we had in mind for the task force. I don't believe we had any intentions of dealing with the US X66s because that would dilute the focus on The Mother Road itself. Just my 2¢. Imzadi 1979 → 23:17, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Dude - I am a shareholder in the company and have sent all kinds of permission stuff everywhere (Look at the Macula Risk page....). Look around? If I had the vaguest notion on how to get things done here instead of this Stalinist veboten attitude I am running into, confounded by syntax that a normal person like myself does not want to get entrenched in, it would be helpful
Tell me what I need to do, not what I am not allowed to do, or the general rules of copyright, etc...

WHO CAN UNBLOCK THIS CONTRIBUTION FOR ME? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gbelgraver (talk • contribs) 13:22, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
- Once again, you CANNOT copy & paste copyrighted information into Wikipedia without permission. That is plagiarism. If you have permission from Macula Risk to post such info, email "permissions-en@wikimedia.org" with such permission info, otherwise you must write it in your own words. - Presidentman (talk · contribs) (Talkback) Random Picture of the Day 13:32, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
THAT E_MAIL HAS BEEN SENT (permissions-en, etc..) AND THE STALINIST FORCES WHO MAN THIS E-MAIL BOX HAVE DONE.....NOTHING?
IF YOU KNOW THE OPERATIVE WHO IS RESPONSIBLE, please let me know. I have a couple of graduate degrees, I think i know enough about plagiarism....
Instead of lecturing me on plagiarism, why not help me actually get the content unblocked? Gerry —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gbelgraver (talk • contribs) 13:37, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
- If you need more assistance, go to WP:ANB. The administrators (senior Wikipedians) there will be able to help you more on this matter. - Presidentman (talk · contribs) (Talkback) Random Picture of the Day 14:30, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Just so I understand- you decided (based upon guidelines that are not clear to me) to block the page I created, and now you are telling me to go to some higher power ( WP:ANB. The administrators (senior Wikipedians) there will be able to help you more on this matter.)
Is there a reason why the page is still blocked?
You have now told me i have done something wrong, and told me to go to another mystery wicket. I feel like I am trapped in a Kafka novel. Please state the specific issues you feel I have transgressed, and then I can go to the WP: ANB mystery location to go argue these.
Right now, I have a very vague idea of who/what I am arguing with. Why not unblock my page while I go and find out who these WP: ANB folks are and what they want?

Are you really going to throw a fit about "expected"? As far as I know, you can't see into the future, and source or not from the state gov't, things can change, so until 2015 is here, it is expected to resume in 2015. Read #1 second sentence. CTJF83 20:44, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

AGT Season 6 auditions
My edits on the America's Got Talent (season 6) page are not me trying to own the article, but expressing the consensus among multiple editors last season that we should list auditions that did not pass. The reason was that the article shouldn't be a directory. If you look at both articles for America's Got Talent (season 4), and America's Got Talent (season 5), you will see that the list of rejected acts was taken off. There was a whole discussion on it, too (back when we still had a separate page for listing auditions). The link to that is here: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/America%27s_Got_Talent_(season_5_auditions) . I'm not trying to own the article, I'm just trying to express previous opinions and consensus. Gamer9832 (talk) 01:26, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Vehicle registration plates of Idaho
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads and users who repeatedly upload or misuse non-free images may be blocked from editing. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. ΔT The only constant 12:03, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- I don't see how they fail the policy. - Presidentman (talk · contribs) (Talkback) Random Picture of the Day 12:05, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
I have re-reverted the edit. As Delta described the first removal - this is overuse. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:45, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- As is explained a couple of times, this is overuse. Moreover, you are getting close to WP:3RR. Please get consensus for inclusion first. Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:47, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- I wish people would actually read the notes I leave on talk pages instead of blindly reverting, sigh. Talk:Vehicle registration plates of Idaho#Use of non-free images on this article, I detailed the exact reasons for removing them there. ΔT The only constant 23:52, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- I did read your note, but it just was not helpful. - Presidentman (talk · contribs) (Talkback) Random Picture of the Day 23:53, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- Then did you read, WP:NFC (Numbers 1,3 and 8), WP:OVERUSE, and WP:NFLISTS? They make it fairly clear that your usage is not allowed. ΔT The only constant 23:58, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- I did read those, but only after Beetstra made the above comment. - Presidentman (talk · contribs) (Talkback) Random Picture of the Day 00:12, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- So you saw my message linking to all of those topics, ignored it, didnt bother to read up on the information that I was trying to point out, instead you basically ignored the note which clearly stated exactly why the files where removed, violated a core policy. Why? you couldnt be bothered to spend a few minutes reading the associated links that I provided in my note? Also talk back messages are obnoxious, I have a watchlist for a reason, I use it very well, so please do not leave any more of those god awful things on my talk page. ΔT The only constant 00:28, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- What I mainly wonder is, that if someone removes all these images and leave a notice, then why that person, after reading the notice, still consistently reverts. I can understand that the notice was unclear (quote: "I did read your note, but it just was not helpful."), but why not ask for clarification, why just revert? --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:05, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Because, all the message said was that the pictures failed WP:NONFREE, I read that but no where did I see that they violated. - Presidentman (talk · contribs) (Talkback) Random Picture of the Day 10:58, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- A) the images did not have a rationale (which is one of the requirements described), and b) it is a list-type article, where it would be overuse. Both described in the WP:NONFREE policy you quote ('all the message said was that the pictures failed WP:NONFREE'). And why did you not ask for clarification then (I'm just trying to understand, maybe we are unclear in what we say, and we should try to be more clear when we do this)? Thanks. (Oh, by the way, you don't need to leave me talkback notices either, I'm keeping an eye on this discussion as well. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:07, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, (b) is stated by the policy, but, as a matter of fact, my images do have a rationale. And, by the way, I did ask for clarification (it's right under the first message), but there was no response so I reverted. - Presidentman talk·contribs Random Picture of the Day (Talkback) 11:17, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- OK, maybe I was wrong about a, though I am sure that some were marked as lacking rationale - anyway, it was overuse, and that was what Delta said when he removed them ("17:58, 6 June 2011 Δ (talk | contribs | block) (-2221) (remove non-free content overuse) (undo)". And anyway, giving someone 25 minutes to respond to your question is maybe a bit short. But lets let it be, I would suggest that you make a selection of one or two 'standard' plates, giving them a bit of a description in the text. There seem to be basic features which come back quite a bit. I hope this helps. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:31, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Your sig
You need to modify your sig to not include templates:
Presidentman talk·contribs Random Picture of the Day
- would be my recommendation, that removes the template and simplifies your sig some. it also removes a link to the talkback template that you really shouldnt have in your sig anyway. ΔT The only constant 00:28, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- I can whatever signature I want to! Thank you very much. - Presidentman (talk · contribs) (Talkback) Random Picture of the Day 10:59, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Crown of Castile.png
A tag has been placed on File:Crown of Castile.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion (
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
