Hello - glad you created your page! To follow up on your comment on my talk page, from our Gerald Durrell discussion, the problem with too many hyperlinks is that they can make a page hard to read! As wikipedia and wiktionary grow, eventually almost every single word could be turned into a hyperlink, which would be insane, so there's a definite effort to keep them non-reptitive, and to limit them to significant, useful terms. There's room for a lot of debate about this, though: for example, I find the habit some people have of linking every date to be distracting, unless the link goes to something useful, like 1950 in literature instead of just 1950. - DavidWBrooks 18:25, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Cameroonian topics

[edit]

Hi, Pradiptaray! I noticed a bunch of new Cameroon-related articles lately, and I found that they lead back to you. As one of the very few editors covering Cameroon, I thought I'd drop by and say hello. Check out my talk page for links to my Cameroon-related stuff. I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon from 2003-2005, and I've been trying to add to Wikipedia's articles on the country ever since. If you don't mind me asking, what's your connection to the country? BrianSmithson 02:04, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Many thanks for the pics. They finally fill out the article.

Also, since I'm not from Kolkata (oparer manush ami ;-) I was wondering if you could give the article a read and check it for factual accuracy? Whatever is there came from looking on the net, but I'm hoping it's all correct as far as it goes. Thanks again. -- Peripatetic 07:07, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I heard that you're doing some work on Cameroon topics. I grew up in the North-West so I thought I'd say hi-nick.annejohn

Hi there, I was wondering if you might contribute to the Fon of Bafut article, particularly by names and reigns of all the fons. Cheers.

[edit]

Hi!

Your article on Durrell is very nice. Yes, I've seen the photo of the statue & also seen the original statue, I'll try to get a non-copyrighted photo of it. :) regards, Alensha 16:03, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Bonny Lass O' Fyvie

[edit]

The song was actually on my playlist as I sat there watching Special:Newpages and saw Auchterless come up! "Brasselgeicht" is probably a corruption of "Braes o' Gight", i.e., "Hills of Gight", in the vicinity of Fyvie, "glen" of Auchterless should be "howe", and "Ethanside" should be "Ythan side", for the River Ythan. "Birks" are birches. For discussion of the song, I suggest you look at The Mudcat Cafe, which has extensive webbed discussions of various folksongs. In particular, [1] discusses the rather tangled evolution of this and cognate songs. By the time the song was adopted to Scotland, it's not clear that it had a theme beyond "Officer attempts to court/seduce local girl, is rejected, dies of grief or otherwise." Choess 21:37, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Said Holmes, "It is my business to know things." I suppose that's as good an excuse as any for my magpie-like collection of assorted facts. Choess 00:44, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please write a stub http://bn.wiki.x.io/wiki/Kur%C3%B3w - just a few sentences based on http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Kur%C3%B3w ? Only 2 -5 sentences enough. Please. Pietras1988 18:56, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review Kolkata

[edit]

Hi! A request has been made for peer review of Kolkata. Could you please help improving the article? Thanks a lot.--Dwaipayanc 11:34, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review suggestions

[edit]

Hi Peadipta! Thanks for the peer review. I am going to discuss the points you raised here in details, and will also put a summary of this reply in the review page.

First, let me comment on the points on which I agree with you, but will need some help: 1. The map: Yes. the template of the map in Kaharagpur will be better I think. However, I do not know how to point out Kolkata in the template. I had a hard time highlighting Kolkata in the present map, as it was the first time in my life I was working with Photoshop! If you are adept at working with photoshop/ other photo editor tools, could you please prepare a Kolkata-highlited map from the template map as in Kharagpur?--Dwaipayanc 05:30, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

2. I have collected a map of Kolkata which almost mets your demand! See the map

File:Calcutta Map.jpg

. Do you like it? The problem is where should we place it in the article? may be in the geography section. In that case, the radar image has to be done away with. As I like the radar image very mush, I would oppose that. However, if we wikipedians reach a consensus that the proposed map is more appropriate for the article than the radar one, we should replace. Let's see what others have to say.

3. The informal sections (North, South...etc) have been spelt out in the "urban structure", though not in a listed form, rather in a prose form.

4. An iconic photo is what we are craving for! But alas, yet not have got one. Please try to search one.

5. Please go on and edit the Howrah bridge photo, and make it better. That will be great!

6. Thanks for pointing out that we had missed the fire service in "utility serbices". That would be added.

7. Copyediting - must be done. We are trying. Please help.

8. Your suggestion on "Education" is excellent. I shall try to modify it accordingly. Please edit it as you feel necessary.

Ok. Now let's discuss some points that I fear we cannot accomodate/ have been incorporated in some other form:

Before discussing these points I would like to draw your attention to Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian cities and especially the 3rd rule in this page.

Now, why the culture section is not sub-sectioned? because the Indian city projects guidelines tell that. Kolkata in art and the Trivia section cannot be accomodated for the same reason. You can see other Indian city articles like Mumbai. Chennai, Bangalore which went on to become FAs. I do not think naming 14 boroughs is needed. That can be added in the sub-article geography of Kolkata. There was a section on architecture, but as per the recoomended rule in Indian city projects, that had been incorporated into "culture". Please try to build up an article on the architecture of Kolkata. We can borrow a few points/ summary from that article and use it in Kolkata. You can even start a sub-section on architecture in Kolkata culture.

"Kolkata in art" is an extremely interesting proposal, but again I fear it cannot be accomodated separatly in Kolkata. You can start a separate article, under the category of Kolkata culture. Then a gist from that new article may be added in Kolkata may be in the culture section??

In conclusion, the goal is to make Kolkata a featured article. For that, we should abide by the guidelines laid out in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian cities. And we have to sacrifice many points which we would have been very happy to see in the article!! However, those points can easily be added in sub-articles/ new article created, and intelligently linked to the Kolkata article, or, at least, added to the template Template:Kolkata topics. There are many scopes to improve the article as it stands now, especially the photos. Please help!! Thanks a lot. Bye.--Dwaipayanc 04:55, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Pradipta, how are you. Kolkata is now Featured Article Candidate. As an important and old contributor of the article, please say something on the FAC page. Bye! Regards.--Dwaipayanc 05:30, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Hi Pradipta! You are late, you are late!! Kolkata is already a featured article. You must be very happy, because it was you who contributed in the article long ago. Bye! BTW, have a look at Darjeeling. It's way too far, but it is improving considerably. --Dwaipayan (talk) 14:35, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:darjeeling and calcutta

[edit]

Hi! I have seen your NP of India template many times already. It's very nice. I have been to Sundarban (both the article and the park itself !) And have also seen the Cameroon related articles, and, of course, Gerald Durrell template.

I do not think Calcutta portal would have 10 takers, 5 may be. I can name some users, you can drop a note to them. They are :

Soumyasch (talk · contribs), Besidesamiracle (talk · contribs), Aryasanyal (talk · contribs), BengalRenaissanceEccentrica (talk · contribs), Loom91 (talk · contribs), Blacksun (talk · contribs), Supten (talk · contribs), LordGulliverofGalben (talk · contribs), BobClive (talk · contribs) etc. Besides them, there are a lot of Indian wikipedians who may be intersted. But, there should be some sort of continurd effort besides the initial drive.

You can see Portal: Kerala for example.

You should start that etymology stuff soon. At least begin. Hope you have enough resource.

Regarding the photo of Ganga (Howrah Bridge under monsoon cloud), yes you should upload it , may be under cc, and then provide a link to the original photo, and also should tell that this photo has been made out of that photo etc.

Your suggestion on Lepcha will be in my mind. May be we'll add a line, (possibly within brackets), but not a paragraph, as there is already an article on Lepcha which has been linked to darjeeling article. Regards. --Dwaipayan (talk) 16:37, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi! There is a slight problems with your user page categories. As you have included the templates about Durrell and the National parks of India there, your user page can now be found in the corresponding categories. A way to resolve this problem would be to manually copy the information of the templates and exclude the categories. --Tail 14:44, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Catch-22 situation about Bangla-wikipedia

[edit]

(emailed separately to Dr. Saptarshi and Dwaiypayanc

Hi, Saptarshi bhai has indicated this to me earlier, and I think this is somewhat true. The issue was:

Bengali Internet surfers from West Bengal are somehow feeling that Bangla-wikipedia is Bangladesh-centric, and therefore they have largely been staying away from it.

This is the classic Catch-22 situation ...("Dim age na murgi age" in Bangla :) )... we need more editors from WB to have more articles related to culture and things from WB, but unless we have those topics in bn-wiki, people from WB are not feeling interested.

This needs to change, if bn-wiki is to become stable, balanced, and properly accessible to both BD and WB Bengalis. With Saptarshi bhai's help, I've created articles on a large number of WB towns (I think I've got at least those created by Ganeshbot in en-wiki). Piyal had created a lot of small stubs on WB poets and artists. But still, these are not properly covering WB.

My knowledge, of course, is limited to Bangladeshi culture and Bangladesh. I wish I'd known enough about WB to start at least some stubs, but I'm can't. So, editors from WB have to take the lead here.

I suggest that:

1. You think about ways to bring more people to bn-wiki

2. Publicize bn-wiki in Kolkata/WB related mailing lists/websites/forums etc.

3. Try to get friends/people who you communicate with involved in bn-wiki.

Sorry for the large post, but this is a serious issue, and please look into this.

Thanks

Image:Suman chatterjee.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Suman chatterjee.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 05:11, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I do not believe getting a properly licensed Suman Chatterjee image is trivial. I did try, but could not find any. You are welcome to look, and I will also look into it. With the exception of press releases, I do not see how it might be possible to obtain images. There is one easy way out though - to use an album cover. It is usually unacceptable to use album cover images to illustrate anything other than the album (say the artist in this case), but as the Suman Chatterjee article has a discography, this should not be a problem. I suggest the original image stays until someone can find and upload an alternative image. Pradiptaray 23:45, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Green Umbrella

[edit]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Green Umbrella, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at Talk:Green Umbrella. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ~ BigrTex 00:46, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Siberiabotting.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Siberiabotting.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then you need to specify who owns the copyright, please. If you got it from a website, then a link to the website where it was taken from with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:17, 17 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 06:17, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NMajdantalk 01:44, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, the image will still be deleted. The person who created the file (on Flickr) licensed the image under a license that does not permit commercial use of the photo. Photos that do not allow commercial use are not allowed on Wikipedia per WP:ICT. Feel free to ask the flickr user if they would be willing to license the image under a commercial license. It would then be welcomed on Wikipedia.--NMajdantalk 02:02, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Tsechu cham.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tsechu cham.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thanks for uploading Image:Press durrell.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. I made the PAI toolbox yesterday and tried it out on Tamil Nadu. Seems to work. Only 32 state articles left. Maybe you can sharpen the tools and add a couple more. You know this whole Wiki thing started when I was thinking back 35 years to living in Manjampatti Valley in a cave and meeting a Palayan woman and child who lived in another cave close by. I experimented doing Top Station, then did Manjampatti valley, Then spent a lot of time on Palani Hills National Park and today did Protected areas of Tamil Nadu. Standing back now, I see myself constantly reaching out to protect that mother and child and cave. Maybe time to go back to it. I am seriously thinking about going back to Kodaikanal next winter for 3 mo. with my son and/or brother, get some Wikiphotos, still have some friends there. We'll see.==Marcus 04:49, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome Back

Marcus 05:20, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good Idea. As you see I recently crossed the border to Kerala, an important PA state with a good Forest Dept. & new minister of the Department, Binoy Voswam. Good Web site too.
Also check out:Protected_areas_of_Tamil_Nadu#Regional_Cooperation.
I used to work for Dr. M. S. Swaminathan back in the early 70's when he was Director of I.C.A.R. and initiated earliest efforts to "Save Silent Valley". Though I was not involved with that, I was aware of it and recognized his forward thinking. Yes, Silent Valley is a good March Project. Also, Western Ghats really needs to be cleaned up. My Wikitime will be cutting down as I have to get ready to go back to work in April.==Marcus 05:58, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Final touch needed

[edit]

Final touch needed at Kaziranga National Park. Pls. help it. Amartyabag TALK2ME 14:38, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I have seen u and Marcus doing a lot in Silent Valley. Can u give a bit more attention to Kaziranga. I have already added a few more data. See the talk page and the last four links provided by me seem to be a gold mine for our works. I will be glad if u add the defects in Conservation management part and latest news then the article will be complete according to me, though it will need a thorough copyedit and a peer review after adding the data may be helpful for finding out the loopholes. Amartyabag TALK2ME 06:23, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See, if u can provide the reference needed tags in Kaziranga. I think u are busy all these days, If u can complete the article ASAP i will be glad. Amartyabag TALK2ME 08:59, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ray, It's good that =Nichalp «Talk»= joined WPPAI, You know him?
Sorry for the bother, but I tried as you said in Udig catalogue but got:
java.io.IOException: Could not connect to WMS. Possible reason: The element type "link" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</link>".
I tried various permutations and got various error messages. [2] did work in Windows XP though. Ideas?==Marcus 19:36, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I notice you have uploaded the following images from flickr:

and labelled it as cc-by-sa-2.0. The actual licence is cc-by-nd-2.0. These images are not to be used in wikipedia and can be speedily deletes within 5 days. Could you request permission for a cc-by-sa-2.0 licence for these images and forward the email to permissions AT wikimedia.org?

Also, Image:Kazi-rhino.jpg should have been uploaded to commons: instead of en-wiki. =Nichalp «Talk»= 12:24, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's no such thing as "CC Commercial". For use in wikipedia, an image must be released with the following freedoms:

  1. Freedom to modify the image (derivative)
  2. Freedom to use the image commercially (commercial)

Take a look at these licence tags and the ones valid:

  • cc-by-[version] means that only attribution is required
  • cc-by-sa-[version] means that attribution is required and the derivatives can only be released under the identical cc-by-sa-[version]
  • cc-by-nc-[version] -- non commercial use only
  • cc-by-nd-[version] -- non derivative use only
  • cc-by-nc-nd-[version] -- non commercial, non-derivative use only

A flickr note is not sufficient as it can always be deleted. You need to get a permission email from the author and forward it to the email address mentioned above. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 13:39, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Budgetcover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Budgetcover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:08, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Margotdurrell.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Margotdurrell.jpg. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Anthea_bell.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. Unspecified source for Image:Bauljazz1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bauljazz1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:51, 22 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 11:51, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Popup_sabuda.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.

You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Kathryn White (author), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Fair use rationale for Image:Maohou.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Maohou.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 09:05, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Ju_logo.gif

[edit]

I have tagged Image:Ju_logo.gif as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Thanks for uploading Image:2005bftheme.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Ballamoussa.gif}

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Ballamoussa.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Image source problem with Image:Yellowasphalt.jpg

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Yellowasphalt.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:55, 13 September 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:55, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
