User:Sabine's Sunbird
Holy shit I've been here 20 years.

This user page is a bunch of tree-hugging hippie crap. Please see the relevant discussion on the talk page. |
I've moved most of my bio way down this page. It's out of date and i keep it out of nostalgia, much like everything I do here.

Kanban
[edit]An attempt to add some order to my projects. First off a backlog/ dumping ground. Then a hard core focus of expansion. After that polishing. Anything being worked on can be dumped back into backlog, the ida is to keep the focus on a single main expansion target at a time. Nothing in this kanban denotes ownership. Please feel free to dump stuff in the backlog, focus is on combatting systematic bias and higher level taxa. Learn about kanbans here.

Old bio (Ignore)
[edit]I'm a trans-national bum who is currently working as a writer in New Zealand. I'm not sure how much time this will leave me for Wikipedia, but I've been away too long and the articles are calling me strongly now. My major kick at the moment is improving the standard of bird family articles. Quite frankly most of them are a disgrace. I also randomly attach myself to subjects I feel are under-represented on Wikipedia.
I have yet to decide if I'm an inclusionist, deletionist or simply apathetic. I suspect I'm a mergeist. Keep it but don't split it endlessly. I object strongly to fiction not labeled correctly, and don't think that every name in fiction deserves a mention, anymore than any person in life deserves a mention. I have yet to see one convincing argument why every school ever is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, but I don't actually care enough to fight about it. If enough people care about it (and by God don't they just), I'm content to let it slide. It's not like I come across schools very often pressing random button, and to be honest they are usually better articles than average.
This user has begrudgingly began to use citation templates. Try not to crow.
Also, it's Sabine's Sunbird, not Sabine Sunbird. The Sunbird of Sabine, as it were, or possibly named after said Sabine.

Bird was a collaborative work but I put more work into it than I did my other FAs so I'm listing it here. Cattle Egret was a co-nom with Jimfbleak that I contributed a considerable amount of writing to, as was Bee-eater. Pigeon Guillemot was a collaboration with Riley.
I discovered Wikipedia in late October 2004. The authorities have been warned. They weren't impressed, however, and are still eating doughnuts. In 2008, for reasons that defy explanation, I was made an admin. I can only speculate there was a keg party and everyone thought it would be funny to demote me to the post. At any rate I have managed to not destroy Wikipedia yet. I have a sock puppet , User:The Sunbird of Sabine, which I use to edit away from my personal computer in order to prevent naughty types from stealing my login and wrecking havoc.
