Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into Narammala. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g.,
copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you.
Also, your recent edits were clearly not fixing grammar as indicated. In the future, please leave an informative edit summary for each edit. — Diannaa (talk) 12:06, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
Narammala
[edit]You have recently added a significant amount of unreferenced information to Narammala. All information should contain inline citations referencing reliable independent secondary sources. Without any references this information may be removed in the future. Dan arndt (talk) 12:16, 12 March 2024 (UTC)

- Hello, I'm Vidun Nethmira. And I live in Narammala city. Apologies for my old edits. But a few days ago I went to Narammala Pradeshiya Sabha (A Pradeshiya Sabha is a unit that governs a city in Sri Lanka) and got the government approved real information about Narammala city. I included them in Narammala Wikipedia page. For example, nicknames can be taken. I would like to inform you that the three nicknames I have entered as well as the motto are approved by the government. Therefore, I kindly request you not to remove that information from the Narammala Wikipedia page. By the way, Do you live in Perth, Australia? Mrnerdyface (talk) 10:01, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- Vidun, without any properly cited references or sources, the information you have provided is original research and as such is likely to result in that information being deleted from the article. In respect to the nicknames, you say that they are approved by the government - what evidence can you provide that supports that claim - are there any official minutes from the Pradeshiya Sabha that confirms this? Yes, I currently reside in Perth but I'm not certain what difference that makes. Dan arndt (talk) 01:50, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
- A neighbourhood is a geographically localised community within a larger city or town. What you have described are neighbouring towns or cities not neighbourhoods of Narammala. Dan arndt (talk) 10:09, 26 March 2024 (UTC)

[edit] Please do not add or change content, as you did at Narammala, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 15:09, 12 April 2024 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, I'm Obi2canibe. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of cities in Sri Lanka, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Obi2canibe (talk) 15:47, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
