Fair use rationale for File:Beyonce-rose.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Beyonce-rose.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 01:00, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE:

[edit]

I am going to speak to someone to have the article deleted completely. It is not a single and has not charted. Thank you. Charmed36 (talk) 15:53, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Let's make a few things clear

[edit]

First off, these edits of yours are completely unacceptable. Your tone is threatening, as if you will injure or otherwise do him harm.

Charmed36 is not vandalizing articles, nor is he creating "malicious redirects". He has been following WP:NSONGS, our guideline about what songs should have articles and which should not. Broken-Hearted Girl clearly falls in the not category. It should exist as a redirect to the artist or album, but not as an independent article. Should you undo the redirect again, I will take the article to AFD, and I am quite confident that it will be deleted. Please respect our guidelines, and do not undo the redirect again.—Kww(talk) 17:26, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your reports to WP:AIV

[edit]

Please stop bringing content disputes and personal grudges to AIV. That is not what it is for. --Chris (talk) 02:33, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have reported your frivolous and vexatious AIV reports to WP:ANI. Please comment there whenever possible. Thank you, MuZemike 02:35, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And I've turned down your protection request for the same reasons. Acroterion (talk) 02:38, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Your report of Kww to AIV is clearly retaliatory. You are labeling a content dispute as vandalism and are demanding administrative action to support your position. This is a misuse of the process. Please stop, and do not mischaracterize a content dispute as vandalism. Acroterion (talk) 02:58, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 07:49, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Beyonce-Broken-Hearted Girl - Single.png

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Beyonce-Broken-Hearted Girl - Single.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:46, 5 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. k.i.a.c (talktome - contribs) 08:46, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Broken Hearted Girl

[edit]

If it becomes a single, that is the time to create the article. Not before. Wikipedia documents things that have happened, not things that may happen. The image in the infobox is labeled as a fake at the source. Read http://mac-ohhellyes.blogspot.com/2008/11/exclusive-mac-made-beyonc-single-covers.html.

On another note, do not refer to other editors as "gay" or insult them in any way at any time. Doing so will result in you being blocked from editing.—Kww(talk) 12:20, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for 24 hours

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for engaging in disruptive behaviour and abusing multiple accounts to try to vote-stack at AfD. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. Too poeple out there

[edit]

Im am ladgy i have been blocked indefinately for misuse of accounts let me explain...

1.I created 6 accounts to stop a page being deleted because every edit i do gets deleted and it is anoying so i tired to do this but did not work. the accounts were supposed to be deleted not for cleaning up evidence but because it was used wrongly and i apolgised for that.

2.I have beend framed for being a sockpuppet of MJp2512 by Kww i don't why mabye because of a message i sent thim saying that beyonces single should remain redircted until release because this user undid the redircet. Mjp2521 is not an account of mine i sent him and msg and he did too because we know each ohter and we are good friends thats all.

3.Finally why whould i create another account to get blocked? this is all a misunder standing, the 6 six was just a stupid idea of mine and the other user is my friend jai.Ladgy (talk) 07:00, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Esipte all this im am sorry for the accounts and everything but i have no intesion of recreating accounts and i already knew that from my past block. I just want to contribute good and reliable things to wikipedia and i want to say sorry to Kww if i insulted you or anything like that.Ladgy (talk) 07:10, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ladgy, I saw this mistake last night and am trying to get it corrected. I agree that you should not have been blocked again. Please be patient, and it should get fixed soon.—Kww(talk) 11:08, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I just checked, and you have already been unblocked. Broken Hearted Girl

Not until it charts somewhere.—Kww(talk) 11:16, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In reply to your querries to Kevin, last.fm is an extremely unreliable source. Also, iTunes charts are temporary and as such are componenet of the main chart for a nation. Hence that is again unreliable. Best thing for you would be to wait for some more time and see if it charts in Australia. --Legolas (talk2me) 09:39, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Legolas, here. The charts to monitor are listed at WP:GOODCHARTS.—Kww(talk) 11:00, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I actually didn't upload the album cover, someone else did. I ran across it searching for the song. I'm not sure a music video image is needed though. It wouldn't add a substantial understanding of the video or song. RatiziOnecontribs 06:32, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we need a video screen shot. Although the article does need more information and reliable references. RatiziOnecontribs 06:36, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've never done audio sampling so I wouldn't know how to work with that system but as far as iTunes chart positions, their not reliable or confirm-able. Use charts wikipedia agrees with better. See Wikipedia:Record charts. RatiziOnecontribs 06:50, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Empire of the Sun

[edit]

Whilst in having a 'blow by blow' description of the music video may be interesting... unless there is a unique aspect of the video that is 'notable' a decription is not necessary. In each of the articles a simple description of where the videos were filmed, who the director was, etc (particularly where independent & citable references can be provided) is sufficient. I understand that you have gone to a fair degree of effort but you need to have independent verification of information you provide. Dan arndt (talk) 08:04, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Walking_On_A_Dream_Alternate_Cover_Single.jpeg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Walking_On_A_Dream_Alternate_Cover_Single.jpeg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Re: Kesha's "Sleazy"

[edit]

Thank you for your message. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, in particular non-free content such as album and single covers. There is already a single cover there, and the one you are adding is the same, with just a few modifications and it does not qualify for fair use. Also, they can be no larger than 300px on one side, and yours is double that. It is also high quality, which is not allowed. Please read the license you have applied to the picture, a license which has been placed inappropriately. Thank you. Yves (talk) 05:47, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's not about being "official" or "confirmed": it's about fair use, of which there is none here. Yves (talk) 05:51, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You can't really make it fair use. There is already a single cover there, and adding the second one doesn't help the reader understand more. This is not like The Fame Monster where the two covers are radically different. Thank you for your contribution, but it's really unneeded. Yves (talk) 05:56, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ladgy, pictures on Wikipedia are not there to "make articles look better": if you read the licensing on album covers, you will know that. Covers of audio recordings serve solely to illustrate the audio recording in question. I think you should read the template you used. Yves (talk) 06:03, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ladgy, I'm simply trying to be helpful here. It is your choice how you take my messages on your talk page, but I have used a neutral and patient tone throughout—I'm trying to help you understand. As for removing it, you can leave it alone and someone will automatically delete it because it is not free. :) Yves (talk) 06:14, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! Hopefully now you know for future images! :) Yves (talk) 06:23, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
