This is in regard to the removal of the WICB flag <IMAGE REMOVED> from the article. Although I know it is not mainstream yet, I thought it was better aesthetically to have it there in place of a glaring blank spot. I wasn't adding the WICB flag to West Indian articles elsewhere, I know that it isn't one country, but I think cricketing articles should have some symbol of the country next to its name in tables. If the issue is uniformity, then I'll gladly add this to all the articles I can find.
I don't know how to create a template, otherwise I would. If I get no reply in 2 days I'll re-add the image, as you didn't give any justification for the removal. Thanks - bigforrap (talk) 05:17, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Just a heads up, I've started a discussion over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Discoveries#.7B.7BAfghanistan-cricket-bio-stub.7D.7D over the stub template you created a couple months back. Generally there's a proposal process to go through when looking to add new stub tags, to help keep everything standardised. Any that didn't go through that process are asked to be put on that page. Unfortunately the discoveries page seems pretty dead these days... so who knows if the discussion will come to anything :) But anyway, thought I'd put it up there and also give you a bell. Cheers. Reviewed GA and put on hold for the moment. Nothing big at all, just nit-picks. --Sarastro1 (talk) 20:45, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
- Passed now. Yes, 1890-1910 is very interesting, as long as we don't talk about 1901 and that match. I'm kind of into the 1920s at the moment but am running out of info for Yorkshire cricketers of that time, so may need a book hunt soon. I'm toying with having a stab at Ranji next, but I doubt I'll start before the weekend. And someone else may grab my interest first, as happened with Bosanquet! --Sarastro1 (talk) 21:55, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
- Bosanquet done, thanks for the review again! I've got to admit, he was a much more interesting chap than I thought he'd be. --Sarastro1 (talk) 08:19, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey Harrias. A favour if I may be so bold. Could you cast your eyes over the subject list, I intend to nominate it at FLC in a week or so (or whenever PDSA Gold Medal gets some more support) and was hoping for some independent reviews. Anything you could offer on the talk page would be most helpful. Cheers, The Rambling Man (talk) 12:11, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Sammy Woods
Hi, As you know more about cricket than any other wikipedia editor I know, could I ask if you would be willing to take a look at Sammy Woods. I'm working on the cleanup listing for WikiProject Somerset & came across this one which has a banner for multiple issues & I don't know enough about the area to tackle it.— Rod talk 16:44, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. Your sandbox version looks much better. I'll leave that one in your capable hands.— Rod talk 08:58, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Somerset cricketers
Thanks for your note. The Somerset wikiproject has debated this (but I can't find it in the archives) and agreed that sports people etc who play for Somerset teams wouldn't be included unless they are born in the county (hence including Jos Buttler) or have a very long association with a team in the county (perhaps exclusively). Therefore is someone played for Somerset for a few seasons, but wasn't born here wouldn't come within the remit of the wikiproject, but someone who played for the county for their whole career and perhaps lived in the county for the rest of their live or similar would be included. If that is a bit wholly feel free to raise it again on the project talk page.— Rod talk 18:07, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- I knew this had been discussed previously & I've now found Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Somerset/Archive 1#Article assessment & Bishops etc & Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Somerset/Archive 3#Pageview stats but its probably time for wp Somerset to debate it again - I'd personally like to see less biographies not more - also take a look at Category:People from Somerset & all its sub cats.— Rod talk 21:19, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- You may also wish to contribute to the "discussion" at Talk:Taunton#Notable people where cricketers are now being discussed.— Rod talk 22:28, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
Let me know if I can help in some gnomish way at the FAC, it suddenly seems to have hit the skids... The Rambling Man (talk) 17:58, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- No worries. I got a feeling, reading the latest comments, that you were suddenly onto a loser. I tend to err on the side of "just about one way of reporting facts" so accusations of plagiarism seemed a little harsh. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:03, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- With all the trouble flying about re copyvio at the moment, I've struck my comment about sourcing being OK. Sorry! Still supporting though. As with Rambling Man, let me know if I can help as everyone seems very jumpy about this right now. --Sarastro1 (talk) 21:06, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Redoubling my support for you here. Let me know what I can do. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:07, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- If this counts as copyvio, I'm going to have to stop editing Wikipedia, because everything I write will be around this close to the sources. Harrias talk 21:27, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- I understand your point, but don't over-react. Let's try to understand whats expected and hopefully this will become a non-issue. For what it's worth, you have my full support. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:31, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not going to over-react. I just might not take an article to FA again; it seems more trouble than it's worth. Harrias talk 21:34, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- I know what you mean. Let's see how it pans out. I think this new scrutiny is worthwhile but may take some time to settle down. Don't give up on the process. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:37, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Looking a little more promising today? I've weighed in a little more about the sourcing. Hopefully, Sammy Woods will be easier! --Sarastro1 (talk) 10:15, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help. Woods should be easier, being less stat based. That said, I'm only up to his third year at Cambridge, and the article is getting large already, so I may have to cut things out once I've finished. We'll see though. Harrias talk 10:22, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
