Thanks for uploading Image:Crippen_on_british_telecom_phonecard.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

License tagging for Image:Mamc001.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mamc001.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Crippen_on_british_telecom_phonecard.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Crippen_on_british_telecom_phonecard.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Notability of Pooja chauhan

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Pooja chauhan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. WODUP 10:09, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

your Journal

[edit]

I take an interest in articles on scientists & on scientific journals, and I would like to keep this article from being deleted--I have to warn you that a journal with your own name in the title will attract some unfavorable attention & it is in any case very difficult to convince some of the people here that academic journals are important--I have no more voice in the decision than anyone else. It would help to decrease the impression of self-advertising if the article were relatively modest and avoided the temptation to repeat its name many time, to use bold face italics, to put things into an unusually large number of categories, and to make the existing links and references look more important than they actually are. I have made some edits in these respects, and will make some more--as the edit screen says-- it is our basic principal that anything submitted here will be mercilessly edited. :) DGG (talk) 01:19, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have similarly removed links to individual articles in this journal from he external links section of several article--we do not do this unless there is some very special reason--normally it is considered what we call WP:LINKSPAM.
I also simplified the article on your medical school in line with similar articles. This isn't getting after you in particular--we administrators generally look around. DGG (talk) 02:26, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your cooperation--and, not thinking only about WP for the moment--wish the journal had been named differently.DGG (talk) 20:22, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

Hello Prof. Aggrawal, It's nice to see you editing here on wikipedia. You (hopefully) will find this limerick at the Portal India Quiz amusing. Regards. Abecedare 04:49, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the ditty. You can email me through wikipedia by clicking here (or by going to my wikipedia page and clicking on the "Email this User" link in the left panel).
I also saw that you created the biographical article at Anil Aggrawal. I think that is a good idea and arguably long overdue. However wikipedians are wary of conflict of interest when users create or edit their own biographical article, so it may be a good idea if in the future you comment on the article talk page, instead of editing the article directly, since that way any appearance of conflict can be avoided. Also it would be greatly helpful if you can provide any independent, reliable source where biographical details about you have been published - these can include for example, newspaper/magazine articles that are not written by you. I, as a neutral user, will be happy to incorporate any relevant content into the article itself.
I look forward to hearing from you. Regards. Abecedare 23:56, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Prof. Aggrawal,

To address the points raised in your email:

  • You are already a wikipedian, since that term simply refers to anyone who edits here. We don't have any secret handshakes or codes, although we do try to keep the Five Pillars in mind. :-)
  • You can edit your user page by simply clicking here and editing it as you would any other wikipedia page. Whenever you are logged in, you can also find a link to your user page (labeled Anil1956) and talk page (labeled "my talk") at the top of every wikipedia page. You can read some guidelines on what-to-have and what-not-to-have on ones user page at WP:USER
  • As for the limerick, it is accessible at this location
  • Finally, with regards to the Anil Aggrawal article: if you recall any newspaper/magazine articles about you, you can list the reference on the article's talk page so that other editors, besides me, too can help in incorporating that information into the page. (For example such a reference may look like, " A Times of India article titled 'Forensic Medicine in India that appeared on MM-DD-YYYY".)

If you have questions about editing here, please feel free to ask them on your/mine talk page o through email. Regards. Abecedare 18:36, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading Image:Jcsuri.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. 1000 Love and Sex Quiz

[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article 1000 Love and Sex Quiz, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Bfigura (talk) 04:46, 4 September 2007 (UTC) Nominator de-prodded. Probably better with a tag for notability. --Bfigura (talk) 04:48, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Golden Triangle (disambiguation)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Golden Triangle (disambiguation), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Online Sexual Activity, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Online Sexual Activity

[edit]

An editor has nominated Online Sexual Activity, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Online Sexual Activity and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 18:59, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Sumer's Radiology Weblog, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Self-advertisement & notability not established

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Also, please do not remove the tag from the article by yourself, as you have done previously with other articles. Thanks. Shovon (talk) 13:42, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

STOP Removing Tags from your OWN Articles

[edit]

Hi, I had previously also requested you not to remove the tags put on articles written by you. But it seems that you have failed to see any reason. Your edit history shows that, you are trying to use Wikipedia as a Marketing Tool by writing favorably about you/your books/your projects. If you want to remove the tags, please cite independent references (this should not include claims by you published in any media) and then remove the tags. Thanks. Shovon (talk) 06:52, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 07:51, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Response to your queries

[edit]

Dear Dr. Aggarwal, at the very outset, I would like to make my position clear. I do not have any doubts regarding your notability or for that matter, the notability of Dr. Sumer Sethi. I also understand that many of the articles written by you are there in the Wikipedia for months. Understandably your primary concern is about me, who suddenly appeared from nowhere and put up tags on some of the articles written by you.
Well, sir, let me defend my actions one by one.

  1. Regarding the notability of Sumer's Radiology Weblog, I have voiced my opinion, which can be found at the article's talk page as well as it's AFD page.
  2. Let me come to the article 1000 Love and Sex Quiz. There are sentences like Rupa approached him to write a book of popular appeal in their successful "1000 quiz series"; His first book 1000 Crime Quiz had proved successful; This challenge was successfully dealt with. and many more. As the author himself is writing the article about his book, there's every chance of painting false-positive picture, more so, as I could not see any references. I would be happy to help you cite references leading to removal of the tags, if you could point me to possible sources where these can be found.
  3. I would have removed the "autobiography" tag that I had put on your article Anil Aggrawal, as after thorough reading, I did not find anything which can be termed as glorifying the author who himself is the subject of the article in an undue manner.

Hope I make myself clear!
On a lighter note, I would not have dared to take panga with an Indian Doctor, especially when I am Indian living in India, if I was not sure that in my lifetime there's no chance of me going under your scalpel. :-)
Jokes apart, please do contact me, if I can be of any help. Thanks again. Shovon (talk) 15:04, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir, i would like to bring your notice to an article listed under Urban Legends/Hoax. This is known as Fan Death in South Korea and may be in some places in Japan. Speedy deletion of Non-Winners in Nobel Prize

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Non-Winners in Nobel Prize requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 16:31, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Supratim Dutta

[edit]

I have nominated Supratim Dutta, an article you created, for deletion. History of abortion

[edit]

Thanks for adding content to History of abortion. However, your edits were problematic because they violated basic wikipedia policies. All content on wikipedia needs to be verifiable. We do that by citing reliable sources. It would be appreciated if you could go back and add citations for all the content you added to the article. If you need help formatting your citations or have any questions or anything like that, feel free to ask, and I'd be glad to help. If you don't add citations, there is a chance that your content will be removed as being unsourced. Hope this helps.-Andrew c [talk] 14:34, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Alphabiotics

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Alphabiotics, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

Image source problem with Image:KC_Agrawal.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:KC_Agrawal.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:04, 29 August 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 06:04, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Anil_aggrawal's_internet_journal_of_forensic_medicine_and_toxicology.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 00:24, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Forensic and Medico-legal Aspects of Sexual Crimes and Unusual Sexual Practices has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

File source problem with File:Khashaba jadhav.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Khashaba jadhav.jpg.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:44, 3 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 23:44, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Sabrina Lal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay.

PDCook (talk) 21:24, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Stanley H. Durlacher requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. – S. A tag has been placed on Rajat Sharma, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Access to Wikipedia Library

[edit]

Dear all, can somebody [e.g., senior Wikipedia editors] help me. I have been given access to Wikipedia library. But since about 2 days, I have been unable to access it. Can somebody let me know the reason, please? Thanks. Regards

Anil1956

An article you recently created, List of parents-children who won Padma awards, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ––FormalDude (talk) 06:29, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Okay Thanks. I am a beginner and can do with all the advice I get. Thanks again Anil1956 (talk) 10:46, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I feel, if you make this page visible to all, it will help the page to get populated faster. A combined effort is always better. Moreover, another beginner [like me] may start another page with the same name - it is such a captivating topic! The page may be kept at a draft stage, as you rightly suggested. Regarding references that you mentioned, the first "pair" that I entered is already in Wikipedia. In fact I have created links for those pages. Please advise. Thanks. Anil1956 (talk) 10:50, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Anyone who visits List of parents-children who won Padma awards will see a message directing them to your draft already. Linking to their Wikipedia articles is fine, but citations are still required for verification. ––FormalDude (talk) 02:01, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Linking to their Wikipedia articles is fine, but citations are still required for verification. "
Regarding the above suggestion, Thanks. This is an interesting new thing for me. Because I thought the reader can see the required references by visiting the original Wikipedia pages [to which we are linking/referencing]. We can avoid duplicating the references that way. So in effect you are advising that I should copy the references from the original page, and paste them into the new created page, right? Or should I search for new references for the same fact? Kindly advise. Anil1956 (talk) 10:45, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If existing sources verify their winning of the award you can add those. ––FormalDude (talk) 21:57, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. Notice

The article Archana (actress, 1970s) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Marginal actress (career consists of 3 movies) that fails WP:NACTOR but more crucially doesn't appear to meet WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Pichpich (talk) 21:18, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Archana is an important actress, despite the fact she worked in very few films. She intentionally opted out of the movies after marriage [like Bhagyashree] despite having a good career in films. The latter acted in only 1 movie, and did not do anything else of note, yet her page exists. Anyone who sees the "now classic" Buddha Mil Gaya wants to know who Archana is, and there is almost nothing to provide the info. She is also the daughter of a start director, who directed star films. Hi Anil1956 apologies for the delay. I was unaware of your original question, as you did not notify (or "ping") me, which you did with today's follow-up.
To answer your question, AFAIK there is no limit to the number of reviews, but you need to have addressed the problems identified in the previous refusal, or the reviewers get annoyed at their time being wasted.
Although I am not a new page reviewer, looking at Draft:Gupt Gyan, I am sure it will be refused again, for lack of reliable sources that discuss the subject in detail. Please see WP:EYNTK for a summary. You have 2 sources - the YouTube video gives me "Video unavailable" "This video is private" - whilst YouTube is not normally considered a WP:Reliable source. Your other reference to the Times of India, is promising, but only has one paragraph, not the extensive coverage that is needed. You need to find multiple sources that meet WP:EYNTK - Good luck - Arjayay (talk) 11:31, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Language tags

[edit]

Hello, please add language tags (like {{lang-hi}}) and transliterations (of non-Latin writing systems) whenever adding non-English text. These help with fonts and with screen reader users like me. Adding random Hindi terms as you did to Apricot is completely inappropriate; this is the English Wikipedia. Even in Indian articles we don't often use Indic scripts. Graham87 (talk) 15:31, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Graham,
Many thanks for your message. I am sorry. I am a newbie, and still learning the basics of editing Wikipedia. I was not even aware of language tags. I went to the page Template:Lang-hi and Template:Lang. Tried to learn something. Based on what I learnt, I re-edited the page of apricot. Do you think it is okay now? If not, kindly suggest me the right code. Thanks for letting me learn more. Warm Regards
Anil1956 (talk) 11:17, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for learning about and using language tags, but they are not at all helpful in this case. See the Manual of Style guideline about use of foreign languages (MOS:LEADLANG) and my edit summary. Graham87 (talk) 14:00, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The syntax you wanted would have been "{{langx|hi|खुबानी|khubani}}", which produces (Hindi: खुबानी, romanizedkhubani. Graham87 (talk) 14:03, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Graham. You are truly a pro. I think I will no more harm that page, and I should better leave that page untouched. I have miles to go... miles to go... before I.... But thanks to friends like you. I am truly grateful to you.

Hi Graham,
Thanks for your guidance. I understood fairly well, why my addition of a Hindi name at the apricot page was inappropriate. Since I really wanted to internalize this concept [especially given the incredible help from you], I surfed through some Wikipedia pages, till I hit upon a page, which I thought would fit perfectly for me to use the lang tag, and learn more about it. May I humbly request you to please visit
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
I used a similar code [as taught by you] here. Would you please let me know if this is alright? Thanks for your excellent help. So far, I had nobody to teach me, except some inanimate Wikipedia pages, which unfortunately do not reply to your questions.
Thanks and regards

Thanks sir. As you can see from my above note to Graham, I was trying to understand the use of {{lang}} tag. Sorry if I caused you -or anybody else- any problem. I did learn from the page you suggested that we cannot use Indiscripts. But in that case, do you think the tag {{langx|hi}} is redundant; or where exactly can we use this? In my quest to learn the use of this tag, which was taught to me by Graham a day earlier, I made this edit. I had no other aim in my mind.
Many thanks and warm regards

Speedy deletion nomination of English Language Book Society

[edit]

Hello Anil1956,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged English Language Book Society for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 10:44, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I agree. Soon, I will change the language. Actually I wanted this page to go to a kind of "vault" [I am forgetting the name of that vault, since I am a beginner]. The main use of this "vault" is that it [the page] is not "submitted for review" immediately. Then I can keep on developing the page, till I find that it is okay to submit it for review. When I completed these two lines, I even acknowledged the source from where I had borrowed those lines, in the form of a reference. I changed them somewhat, but not enough - as you rightly say. But after I published it, I could not figure out a way to put it in that "safe vault". If you can put it there, I shall be thankful. I wanted to create this page, because my father used to read books published by this society. Now these books are nowhere to be seen. They used to be very economical. I could not find an entry in Wikipedia. So I thought I should well create it. Thanks for your inputs.

Dear Cabayi,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to respectfully request an unblock of my account following the indefinite block you imposed on 18 September 2024 due to copyright violations. I fully understand the seriousness of these violations and recognize the importance of adhering to Wikipedia’s copyright policies.

After receiving your message, I carefully reviewed my editing history and realized that I had committed multiple unintentional copyright violations from 2006 to 2009 during my initial learning phase, followed by a long hiatus. Upon resuming editing in December 2021, I made four more unintentional violations:

•    25 December 2021

•    7 August 2022

•    5 October 2023

•    18 September 2024

In hindsight, I now understand how these repeated violations may present the appearance of disregard for Wikipedia’s policies. Upon resuming my activity in December 2021, I took Wikipedia more seriously but still encountered a few issues [as outlined above], which were entirely unintentional. I acknowledge that I failed to monitor my talk page closely enough and did not realize the cumulative impact of these errors until now. I deeply regret that my actions have led to this situation and I fully accept responsibility for not adhering to the required standards more closely.

I assure you that I have now thoroughly familiarized myself with Wikipedia’s copyright policies and the proper use of non-free content. Going forward, I am committed to ensuring that all my contributions strictly follow the guidelines. I have learned from these mistakes and am eager to make meaningful contributions in compliance with Wikipedia’s standards.

I kindly request you to reconsider the indefinite block on my account and allow me the opportunity to demonstrate that I can be a responsible editor. I am open to any further guidance you may have on how I can improve and ensure such violations do not happen again.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Anil1956 (talk) 07:37, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
