Hello. Could you please tell me what should I do to change the name from Noah30 to NOAH. I made a request but you had written "not done". What does this mean? Please answer. Best regards --Noah30 (talk) 20:21, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

Could you rename Jagwar twin to jagwar please ? Because I cannot "fuse" my accounts with english WP. If you can't please tell me the reasons about it ; and when you renamed my account, please say it by sending me a message in my discussion page. Thank you (in advance :) ).

Bonjour,

Merci d'avance.

Best regards, Cordialement,

Star Control 2

Hi, Andrevan,

You may not remember, but I made a comment a couple of days ago at the List of Star Control races page. I guess it must be kind of obvious that I'm a fan of the series, and I do want to help keep as much of the lore and history of this game up on wikipedia as can be preserved. You are definitely the more experienced wikipedian (and the one with more responsibilities), so how about this -- let me know what needs to happen, as far as the grunt work, and I'll get it done.

Cheers,

Mael-Num (talk) 06:51, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Usurpation?

Why did you moved my user name to Mateus RM (usurped)? I don't know which en.wikipedia's rules are diferent from pt.wikipedia's. Could you explain me what is this movement? :D Thanks! [[User:Mateus RM|Mateus RM]] [[User talk:Mateus RM|msg]] (talk) 10:17, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your help would be appreciated in determining consensus

Hello, I am Atyndall and I am one of the Mediation Cabal's informal mediator. Currently I have taken on a case regarding the naming of the Burma/Myanmar article here. I have decided, after realizing that the article has to be named either Burma or Myanmar, that I need to get everyone to list their opinions and determine the consensus (which I have done here. The problem is, to put it bluntly, I would find it very hard to determine the consensus on this issue as both sides have equally good arguments. So I was wondering, if, after 13:13, 24 June 2008 (UTC) (exactly 14 days after the first post) you could evaluate the consensus at that page (as crats are good at, having to deal with RfAs) and possibly comment on it at the top of the page? Please do not feel obliged to do so, if you are busy I can ask someone else. Thankyou very much and happy editing :-)  Atyndall93 | talk  12:26, 11 June 2008 (UTC) [reply]

Hello, AndreJustAndre. You have new messages at Atyndall's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Because of the objections of some users on your (what I personally don't think is very bad) stating that Myanmar was currently had the most consensus, I unfortunately will have to bring in two more beurocrats that will also determine the consensus and the majority will rule. You are still involved in the discussion, but you will have 1/3 of your previous decision making power. I didn't think it would come to this, but I can't risk an outcry that would break off into an unconstructive arguement. Thankyou.  Atyndall93 | talk  00:15, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CHU/SUL

D'oh! The really silly thing is, I do actually know this (only when an account is being renamed in to a 'set' of SUL accounts is there a problem, right?), but must have got over-enthusiastic with my clerking! Sorry, won't happen again. RichardΩ612 Ɣ ɸ 22:00, June 12, 2008 (UTC)

unifying my account: problem of a german account

Hi! Sorry to bother you for that, but Wikipedia is such a labyrinth I couldn't understand where to go to fix my problem. I'm a currently unifying my accounts, there remain a problem: a userpage with my name on the german wikipedia. I checked and this account is not active anymore. It should need to be deleted then, but I don't speak german... What can I do? My username is : Karibou Best, --Karibou 14:03, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

For changing my username :) Jakisbak (talk) 20:08, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Andre. A user has expressed concerns that you may no longer be considered a neutral party for closing this mediation case you volunteered to [1]. And I must agree with him, as by expressing a preference for the name Myanmar beforehand, it's hard not to hint that you will close the discussion favoring that side no matter the counterarguments presented. Please comment on these concerns. Best regards, Húsönd 16:34, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your quick reply. I concede that you are neutral, but I am still worried about "interpretations of the arguments" by the closing crat. We all agree that the policy is unambiguous about common usage dictating the title of the article, but that's where consensus ends. Both sides present valid arguments about one name being more common than the other, depending on what each user regards as the decisive factor for determining that (e.g. predominance in sources; predominance in English speaking countries; predominance in official recognition, etc.). Recently another bureaucrat evaluated the arguments of a related discussion and decided all by himself that one side had more reason than the other side (and moved the article to "Myanmar"). The result was catastrophic and a lot of drama immediately followed until his move was reverted after multiple complaints. It is clear that this issue is not one of those where a closing admin or crat should arbitrate by deciding which arguments are more reasonable. Unless a clear majority exists for this article to be moved back to "Myanmar", exercising discretion when closing any discussion about the name of this country will not avoid massive protests/drama. And in the current discussion it is clear already that, unsurprisingly, there is still no consensus to change. Regards, Húsönd 21:21, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adminship

Hi there Andrevan. I appreciate the offer but all the admins seem to do is constantly fix vandalism! I spend enough time on here as it is already just writing articles, I'm not sure that I really want to expand my role much further. Nice to be asked though  :-) Meodipt (talk) 07:06, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Restoration of page

The page in question is OFPEC. It has been deleted once before, whereupon it was extensively reworked in order to bring its quality up to something approaching a Wikipedia standard.

The reason given for deletion (in both instances) is that OFPEC "... appears to be a non-notable fansite".

For the purposes of this conversation I am assuming 'non-notable' is defined using http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:WEB as a guideline. That being the case...

"... web-specific content is deemed notable based on meeting any one of the following criteria:

1. The content itself has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself."

Since OFPEC is a repository of knowledge and resources, and its staff and members regularly publish scripts, missions, models and environments based in large part on their access to and assistance gained from the site, one could argue the above stipulation has been satisfied. The lead developers of Bohemia Interactive (creators of the simulators which OFPEC supports) have consulted with the staff on a number of occasions and many of us were invited to beta-test their latest software.

It all depends on how one defines 'non-trivial' in this context, and I can't see anything obvious offering a definition. OFPEC is a website providing support to users of Bohemia Interactive's software - computer games and the tools with which to create new content for them. Not exactly world-changing. Nevertheless, were you to ask Marek and Ondrej Spanel (of Bohemia Interactive) to briefly define OFPEC's significance, I doubt 'trivial' would be among the adjectives.

Thank you for usurpation

You have done a great job for me enabling me to use Kamix here. how can I have my old contributions? Is it possible to transfer my contribution to the new usurped username?(I meen from Achaemenian to Kamix) Thank you--Kamix (talk) 18:28, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thank you for your quick response but why do I need to request for global account deletion? I do not have any problem with my account even with this new one. My problem is that my contributions were not transfered to my new account. Is this deletion harmful for my accounts and its contribution? Is it necessary for me to do that?--Kamix (talk) 20:45, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. You are receiving this note as you are a member of this WikiProject. Currently there is not much of activity in the project and I am hoping to revive the project with your help. I have made a few changes to the project page Diff. You are welcome to make suggestions of improvement / changes in the design. I have also make a proposal to AutoTagg articles with {{WikiProject Computing}} for the descendant wikiprojects articles also. Burma consensus

Hello, if you can recall I recently asked you to evaluate the consensus on a naming issue here. The time needed for the debate has expired and if you could be as kind as to review the consensus and post your opinion in the box provided at the top of the page it would be appreciated. Thankyou and happy editing!  Atyndall93 | talk  00:24, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
