[edit]Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to China national football team—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 05:03, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

Welcome!
[edit]Hello! I've seen some of your edits, and I really appreciate the contributions you're making to Wikipedia. I'm glad you're helping the project! You may wish to consider creating an account. It's quick, free, and anonymous (you don't have to give away any real-world information about yourself).
When you're logged in, you can do many things that unregistered users cannot, such as creating new pages, uploading images, and keeping track of changes to articles you edit frequently. It helps the community, too — Wikipedians will be more likely to remember who you are when you have an account name! If you would like to check if a username is available, you can go here.
If you want more information on the benefits of creating an account, click here. And once you've registered, please drop me a message and say hi! - Sure. I notice you deleting large blocks of text and you don't always use edit-summaries, which is probably why both Materialscientist and I mistook your edits as vandalism. Both of us were using the vandalism detection program WP:HUGGLE and it flagged your edits as likely vandalism. Might I suggest that than simply delete huge sections of that article and leaving nothing like this, summarizing the material you are deleting and strive for a more neutral (WP:NPOV) tone. I would avoid deleted referenced material unless the material is not relevant. This edit did look okay because the referenced material did not mention Chinese football, but was just about TV.
- While you make all the changes, could you look at some of the sources in the article? If possible it would be helpful to replace the sources that are lacking with better sources. Thanks for carefully reviewing the article.
- I think it is likely you will continued to find your WP:BOLD deletions reverted. Please be patient--they are probably editors like me and Materialscientists who are trying to stop drive-by editors from deleting sourced content without any concern for the material being accurate. I can see that is not the case with your work. If you start getting more warnings and anyone gets testy with you, please let me know, and can see what is going on. I might be able to advise you as to whether what you were doing was okay or whether you need to back down, etc. If I'm not available, try the Teahouse. If you get too many warnings, I would stop editing, and wait for advice, or read up carefully on any rules that editors say you have broken. Our rules are incredibly complicated, and new editors often break them and see warning templates all over their pages and leave. I don't want that to happen to you, as long as you are doing good work. --David Tornheim (talk) 10:03, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
