Old talk
[edit]Hallelujah at last! He wrote Through Afro-America in 1910, so he may be the inventor of the precursor to the now omnipresent term African American. Superslum 16:19, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Spelling reform
[edit]Should be some mention of his efforts toward spelling reform. I think he published a book, though I'm having difficulties finding the exact details in a Google search. AnonMoos (talk) 12:53, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
Inconsistency
[edit]In the summary box it says he had 3 sons. In the text it says he had an only child, "Tom" (is that Thomas?).
